《I'm Stuck! [The Umbrella Academy : Five Hargreeves X Reader]》Chapter Thirteen

[Name] was the first to exit the car, opening the door and getting major deja vu as she saw Hazel's back facing them.
Five decided to sit on Hazel's right, as she sat on the boy's other side in case Hazel decides to use her as some sort of leverage.
Hazel jolted up upon seeing Five and the girl, gazing at both warily but not doing anything with Agnes right in front of them.
"Coffee, black," Five ordered, looking at Agnes blankly.
Agnes first looked at them with a frown, an expression that shows she's trying to place where she'd seen them before immediately lighting up. "Oh it's you two!" Agnes cooed. "I am glad to see you both alright! I was worried something might have happened when you left. Especially you, sweetie, I was afraid when I didn't hear from you after you left." She said solemnly, causing the girl to feel guilty.
"Yes, I'm so sorry for making you worry, Agnes. But this guy here just, uh, came back for me and pulled me away immediately before we could get hurt." [Name] said with a small smile, using her palm to point at Five beside her.
"Oh it's alright, no need to worry." She said with an ecstatic smile before morphing into a knowing one as she looked back and forth at the two. "I feel like I've seen you two almost always together, that first time with his dad, and now here, too. Are you two.."
The girl's eyes widened at this, immediately shaking her head. "Oh, no, no, no! We're just.. friends! Yeah.. definitely." Her voice going low in hesitation. "Besides, he's too old for me." She said with an innocent smile as Agnes gazed at them in confusion, only seeing two seemingly-of-the-same-age young adults.
"You know that's not true. Technically, you're older than me." Five replied.
"Technically, you're older than me in mind and I'm older in body." She said with a quirk of her lips.
"Technically, we're of the same age." Five again noted, raising an eyebrow in reminder of their birthdate.
"Ah semantics," she gave up with a wave of her hand as she looked at Agnes who was quite clearly bewildered at the exchange. "Sorry about that, he can be quite confusing." Followed by a glare from him she chose to ignore.
"But can I have a glass of water and fries, please? Thank you!" She directed to Agnes, and then looked at Five again. "Are you not gonna eat anything? I feel like it's unhealthy to just drink coffee without anything to pair with it. And you're paying, right?"
He rolled his eyes but muttered, "And a donut." Agnes smiled at the both of them as she went to the kitchen.
"What are you doing here?" Hazel was immediately hostile as soon as she was out of sight, a hand next to the gun on his thigh.
Five was just calm as he looked at the agent, boredom etching his expression. "I was just here to get a coffee. What are you doing here?" He asked with a raised brow, but already knowing what based on the interaction he had seen earlier.
"I just came here for a donut."
"Sure, so I'm assuming getting rid of the waitress wouldn't be a problem?" Five asked in false joviality, his sarcastic grin in place.

"Don't you dare," this time the gun was now pointed at Five's head, the boy still sitting calmly as [Name] panicked.
"Why don't this shop be a place for truce and no violence shall happen? I don't think Agnes would be quite happy if she saw you pointing a gun at a kid inside her shop," the girl tried to bid, feigning indifference if it weren't for her fidgeting fingers. She was surprised when Five's hand suddenly covered it, her glancing up but seeing that he's having a staring competition with Hazel.
The man finally looked away, sighing in defeat. "Fine, what do you want?" Hazel finally agreed, placing the gun back on its holster.
"I want to talk to her," Five immediately said, the girl distracting herself by playing with Five's hand. She tried to match it with hers, her eyes widening as she saw how huge his hand was compared to hers. Her expression then got more astonished when she realized he still hadn't taken his hand back, continuing on tracing the lines on his rough callused palm and just deciding to keep quiet about it. His calm composure slightly changed at the feeling of her fingers ghosting slowly over his hand, blinking but choosing to keep his gaze locked with the man.
"And why would you talk to her?"
"That's none of your business."
"I want the briefcase back first," Hazel retorted, keeping a wary eye on the boy.
There was silence as Five seemed to mull this over, even if she already knew he's gonna agree while she continued to play with his hand. "Deal," he answered, using his left hand to shake the agent's.
The agent noticed this, looking at the boy's right only to see that it was being held by the girl, therefore causing him to raise a brow but decided not to say anything and accepted the boy's hand.
They talked about the specifics of when and where it would be, at which instant Agnes finally left the kitchen. "Here's your fries, sweetie." Agnes said pleasantly as she gave the girl her fries, the girl lighting up and thanking her.
"Did you know you're adorable, sweetheart?" Agnes smiled.
[Name] looked up at her shyly, but smiling back again as she murmured another thanks.
She had finally let go of Five's hand, starting to eat on her fries, but he could still feel the ghost of her hands lingering on his as he tried to distract himself by eating his donut.

Hazel left as soon as he finished his food, bidding Agnes and the two youngins goodbye, Hazel even giving [Name] a small tight-lipped smile. The two, on the other hand, took their time – or more so the girl eating while Five scolded her for eating so slow.
"Sorry if I had to savor my fries this time, the last time I had one was cut short because of a certain someone," she remarked with a huff as they entered the van.
Five only rolled his eyes in answer, already starting the car before the both of them jolted in surprise when the door to the passenger's seat opened, revealing a big man leaning down to look at them.
"Where are you two going?" Luther asked with a questioning gaze.
"How did you even find us?" Five threw back, frowning at his brother in irritation.

"I had an idea you two would be here," Luther answered with an arched brow. He then looked at the girl and back at Five, seeming to be debating something before coming to a conclusion and lifting her easily, putting her in Five's lap. The duo were both flustered, [Name] spluttering as Luther slid easily into the passenger's seat, the van tipping slightly to his side.
"The disrespect! Didn't even ask me first," said the girl, clearly offended. She lifted herself a little bit as she pushed Five so he's pinned to the door, then sitting at the small space by his side.
"It's already a small space as is," chided Five as she held his thigh to try and get herself comfortable.
"What? Do you want me to sit on your lap?" She said, looking up at him with raised eyebrows, causing him to avert his eyes, ears reddening at the question. "That's what I thought."
"You know you could've just sat in the back, right?" Luther commented, causing her to scoff at him.
"You were supposed to be sitting there, not me. Plus! Have you seen how dirty that back is? I don't even wanna know where Five got this thing." She said stubbornly, looking ahead with her arms crossed, even if she did think that he brought up a good point. But she already made this decision, and her pride wishes her to stick to it. Maybe.
"So what are you two doing?" Luther asked again.
"None of your business."
"Rude," [Name] scolded, shaking her head in disapproval at Five, before gazing up at Luther. "We're meeting his old boss."
"I'm coming then," Luther declared, closing the passenger door with a slam.
Five glared at [Name] in irritation for giving his brother that idea, "This is why I do the talking." And responding, "No," to Luther.
"Excusez-moi monsieur? How dare you say that," glaring daggers at Five, she turned back to Luther. "Don't worry, Luther, you can come with." Usually she wouldn't side with Luther, but what Five said just absolutely offended her that she cannot stay quiet.
"He's not coming with us," Five glared back.
"Well, you've got no choice, we need him with us."
"What do you mean we need him?"
"He was there, at the original timeline," she said, rolling her eyes as she sighed in exasperation.
"May I remind you that he's right here?" Luther emphasized, hands pointed at himself.
But the two ignored him, having a staring contest, Luther arching a brow at the two reminding him to an old married couple.
"Fine," Five gave up as he started the car, [Name] needing to move a bit forward so Five could reach the gearstick. "Why don't you just go in the back?" He huffed again.
"I'm already here so what can I do," she reasoned, really double thinking why she put up with her decision when she could've been in the back instead. "Okay fine," she exhaled in resignation, proceeding to climb at the back, wrinkling her nose as she tried her best not to touch or look at anything around her.
"Oh, Delores!" She exclaimed upon seeing the black bag, opening it to take her out.
Five then looked back at her in surprise, but immediately turned his eyes to the road as [Name] tutted at him, shaking her head. "You're forgetting your own wife, that's not very responsible. She's gonna break up with you, you know?" Then turning Delores to face Five. "See? She agrees with me."
Five rolled his eyes at the rearview mirror when they met gazes, the corners of his mouth lifting in amusement, causing her to smile as she gently put Delores down.
Luther observed this whole interaction with interest. He may have spent decades inside the academy and four years up on the moon, but that doesn't mean he has no clue when it comes to these types of social cues. He had been that way before, had experienced what it felt like.
"Why are we talking to your old boss, again?" Luther decided to ask.
"I am talking to her, not you two. And this is the only way I could think of that would stop the two from following us, and for other agents to follow suit, too." Five started.
"Plus, all they know is that I have no idea who caused it and how to stop the apocalypse, and as far as I've seen, they have no idea who you are," making eye contact with the girl through the mirror.
"And I'm keeping it that way." He finished as he gazed back at the road.
"So I'm staying here?" She asked in extreme distaste. Five simply looked at her again with an arched brow as if saying, "you got a problem with that?" causing her to huff in disbelief, crossing her arms.
"Wait," Luther suddenly started once the silence settled between the three. "So this apocalypse.. we're gonna die, too?" He asked with widened eyes.
Five looked at him, perplexed, as they stopped at a red light. "You just now gathered that?"
"We.. we die?" He repeated, almost breathless as it finally sinked in on him.
"Horribly. You were all together, trying to stop Leonard from ending the world, or be the fuse, as [Name] had said." Tilting his head at the girl's direction.
"How do you know that?"
"This was clutched in your dead hand when I found you," as Five took out the eyeball and gave it to Luther. Luther stared at it in both horror and fascination. "Must've ripped it out of their head before you went down."
[Name] grimaced upon hearing this, imagining how in the world Luther could've possibly done that. "I know I already heard this.. but imagining it actually happening? Jeez, man. Like, did you– you freaking.. straight up grabbed his eye? Clawed it up from his skull, blood oozing in your hands? Is that how it happened?"
Luther then made a disgusted face as he gave it back to Five, who didn't seem as perturbed as the two.

AN: Hey guys! Just wanted to tell y'all that I'm having troubles with how the ending for my S1 would go (and I'm still debating how I was gonna do my own S2 or if I would) especially coz the set-up of my plot is quite clearly different from how it is in canon. There are certain parts that I am struggling with but nothing that can't be solved! I just hope y'all would understand and that I might not be as frequent on posting these! That's all, ciao~

Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!

A small detail, but a concerning one.Now Dale is forced to deal with being a God, a Dungeon Core, and act as the lynchpin in a divine universe jailbreak attempt.Oh, and of course, the Gods still have all the drama that you would expect.
