《I'm Stuck! [The Umbrella Academy : Five Hargreeves X Reader]》Chapter Three

"You'll get used to it," was all he said as he started the car.
The rest of the ride was followed by silence, mainly due to [Name] trying to keep herself from puking due to the added weight of the car moving before she was even able to fully recover.
They entered the shop that had no customers but them, Five ringing the bell impatiently while she bounced her knees in anxiety of what was about to go down. She really didn't want to be a part of this, remembering that it was quite frankly brutal even if he looked cool.
Another customer entered, as the waitress left the kitchen. "Sorry, sink was clogged. What'll it be?"
"Uhh, give me chocolate eclair."
"Mhmm, sure, can I get the kids a glass of milk or something?"
This clearly irked Five as he scoffs, "The kid wants coffee. Black."
"Uhm, hot chocolate for me, please," [Name] replied with a smile. "I don't like bitter stuff," she quipped pointedly at Five who simply ignored her. "And do you have french fries? Is that a thing here?" She asked, directing the last question to Five but Agnes simply writing it down.
"Cute kids," she said with a smile and entered the kitchen again.
"Don't remember this place being such a shithole." Five suddenly said, surprising [Name] for his rudeness. "I used to come here as a kid. Used to sneak out with my brothers and sisters and eat doughnuts till we puked. Simpler times, huh?"
The truck driver seemed to think this through, but merely shrugged and answered, "Eh. I suppose."
The waitress then came back with their drinks, "Here. The fries will be after a minute or so."
"I got theirs," the man said.
"Thanks," both replied, [Name] sounding much cheerier than Five's. Five then proceeds to ask the driver for directions, the girl frowning as she tries to remember what it was about.
"So are you gonna tell me who caused the apocalypse or am I gonna leave you here alone?" Five brought back the topic, causing [Name] to stop sipping at her cocoa.
She seems to debate with herself as she furrowed her brows in worry, Five keeping a steady gaze at her for added pressure.
"Okay fine," she said in resignation, her hands in the air. "But!" She added with a lifted finger before he talks. "Before I say anything, I wish to have confirmation that you will do whatever you did back there to bring me home. I still have a family waiting for me, you know?"
Agnes came back with the fries, [Name] replying a "thank you!" And started munching happily while Five narrowed his eyes at her in irritation.

Once the man finished his chocolate, he stood up and started walking towards the door, [Name] tensing as she debated where to go.
They hear the engine start as the bell rang again, indicating newcomers. Five gazed at the bell in front of him, noticing plenty of people with firearms, and side-eyeing [Name] who was fidgeting at her seat while holding the plate of fries.
"That was fast, I thought I'd have more time."
[Name] bit her lip as both exchanged "pleasantries", still deciding on if she could vault to the counter fast enough without being hit by a single bullet.
".. You think I wanna shoot kids?" Was what brought her back to the conversation, getting more anxious as she realized they wouldn't just leave a seemingly innocent passerby alone. "Go home with that on my conscience?"
"Well, I wouldn't worry about that." Five quipped, holding a butter knife on his left as he reached for her wrist on his right. "You won't be going home."
And then she was teleported to the kitchen, finding Agnes there and still holding her fries, while bullets started firing over them.
All that was heard was gunfire and grunting and things being broken, while Agnes hugged the girl trying to cover her.
After a few minutes, and a last loud snap from what the girl could only assume was a neck being broken, she slowly stood up, Agnes shaking her head at her in worry. She held a hand up to Agnes, smiling in what she could only hope was reassuring, and slowly inched towards the counter.
Once she saw Five was there, grunting in pain as he cut his wrist to remove the chip, she winced and jumped over the counter, doing her best to not look at any of the bodies nor at what Five was doing.
As she heard a groan coming from Five, and then beeping, she finally looked up at him.
"You knew this, didn't you?"
"Yes.."
"Then why didn't you say anything?" He snapped, causing her to flinch and look away.
"Certain things still need to happen, coz I don't want the timelines to go fuck all again." He of course didn't miss the word 'again' and narrowed his eyes suspiciously at her. "C'mon, we need to go back to the Academy and get your wound treated," she said, gesturing to his wrist as she took his upper arm and pulled him back to the car.
He drove them back again, this time more irritated as she once again avoided his question. "Why won't you just tell me who it is so we can get this over with?"
"Just.. ugh, once we get back I'd try to give a clue, for now, we need to get your wound treated."

They easily went back to the Academy, Five remembering about the eye as he took it out, "Is this the person's eye that will cause it?" He said, stopping her by the gate as he showed it to her face.
Her eyes widened in recognition, "Oh! I completely forgot about that. But.. kinda?"
"What do you mean kinda?" He asked in irritation.
"It is his.. but also not."
"What? What does that even mean?" He said, already getting infuriated at the girl. One thing he hates is not knowing something.
"I will tell you, just get yourself treated first," she tried to placate, noticing his growing ire at her. She didn't really want to get to the bad side of any of them since she doesn't have any combat skills besides fighting her brothers as a kid, nor superhuman capabilities like theirs.
He scoffed at this but didn't say anything more as he stormed inside the house, leaving her alone.
She sighed to herself, and proceeded to follow in case she got lost. She saw him at one of the rooms, grabbing a medical kit from the cupboard and then leaving her again as he exited the room without so much as a glance at her.
"I honestly don't remember everything that happened," she said as she ran to try and catch up with his longer legs. She's thankful he at least had the courtesy to not teleport and leave her to try and find her way through the mansion. "It's been a while since I last saw it."
They turned a corner, and Five entered a room, leaving the door open. She gazed around as she noticed it was his room and sat on the chair, him sitting on the bed and fixing his wound. They sat in silence as she observed the room, standing up to look out the window and gaze down at the emergency stairs he's gonna use one day.
She can't really remember the proper sequence to all of this, all it's memory seemingly jumbled together like a dream inside her mind. And if she hadn't seen it, she definitely would have thought it was.
She then looked up and just gazed dreamily at the moon, because even if there weren't plenty of stars, there were still enough for her to take in.
"Ah!" She said in surprise, "I remember now. Things are supposed to be more difficult, especially trying to make your siblings believe that there is indeed an apocalypse coming. But now because everything is different, with there being three of us testifying that there is indeed an apocalypse, Pogo being one of us, your siblings are all still here. I think," she added the last part, uncertain.
"Then where are they?" He asked, finished fixing his wound as he stood up and went to the wardrobe to have a new change.
"That's what I'm not sure of. I can only assume Klaus is asleep in his room, or at least somewhere that would keep him from doing drugs given that Ben would make sure he wouldn't. I hope," she mused. "Luther is probably somewhere in this house too, since he has nowhere else to go, while the rest I've no clue."
"I could've figured that out for myself," he snapped, walking towards the door.
"Where are you going?"
"To the bathroom, what? Are you coming?" He verbalized with disbelief in his tone. Her eyes widened upon hearing this and immediately shook her head.
"What? No! I would probably look for Grace or Pogo so I can sleep somewhere here too," she responded, Five already gone before he even heard her whole explanation.
"Very rude," she muttered with a frown as she left his room. She then navigated her way through the house, surprising herself as she was once again at the entrance of the house.
She never really had time to absorb her surroundings due to needing to follow people's fast pace, and especially with Five simply just teleporting her away. So she had time now as she gazed up the huge entrance in awe, excitement bubbling up inside her as she finally absorbed this is all actually happening and she's right here with the Hargreeves' siblings. She couldn't help but go up the stairs with a spring in her step, remembering that Grace loves to gaze at her paintings.
"Hi Grace," she said jovially.
"Oh, hi sweetie. Do you need anything?"
After requesting a room for her to sleep in alongside some change of clothes, she followed Grace through the same corridor. [Name] thought it's probably so she wouldn't have to occupy a corridor that is far away from everyone, so she's quite thankful for Grace on that.
She was given clothes, saying it was the girls' old clothes and some spare personal items that Grace always kept in case one of the girls thought to bring a friend over for a sleepover, which she sadly said they never did (probably because they never had the chance to make friends back then, she thought).
".. And please, call me Mom, I prefer it when people call me Mom." She declared as [Name] entered the bathroom.
"No problem.. mom," the girl shyly replied.

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.
