《Love At First Fight {Regulus Black}》36. I'M SORRY

arrived, Ivy Evans found herself rushing through the halls of Hogwarts, with one destination in mind; The Astronomy Tower. She left Donna and Jasper in the library. When she was about to turn the corner, her body collided with another and she let out an annoyed groan.
"Well that was rude, Rose," Sirius grinned amusingly, "Where are you off to in such a rush?" He asked, noticing her fidgety posture.
"No-Nowhere."
Sirius raised an eyebrow challengingly, "Really? So you won't mind me tagging along? Prongs is trying to win your sister over with a song he wrote, Moony and Wormtail are..." He shuddered, "Studying."
Ivy's eyes widened, "We-Well, actually, I lied, you see," She confessed, watching as Sirius' amused smile widened, "I'm going to the bathroom. Bursting for it, actually."
"Oh are you now?" Sirius chuckled, folding his arms across his chest, "So, you're not going into the Astronomy Tower, where my dear, little brother had just been seen entering."
Ivy's jade green eyes widened, "I-I, erm, don't know what you're talking about," She lied straight through her teeth, trying her best not to let her reddened cheeks show.
Sirius let out a barked laugh, "Look at you, you're so flushed. Go get your guy," He told her, moving from her path.
Ivy didn't know what to say, so she didn't say anything and instead, kept her head down as she rushed away from Sirius and towards the Astronomy Tower, hoping that by the time she reached Regulus, her bright red cheeks would have toned themselves down. She took in a deep breath when she finally reached the door, wiping her slightly sweaty palms on her skirt, the blonde girl pushed the door open.
Instantly, her eyes found the back of Regulus Black as he stood at the balcony, looking out over the school grounds. He turned around at the sound of soft footsteps approaching him. His chest tightened when he spotted Ivy Evans walking closer, keeping her eyes down on the ground and her dyed blonde hair hiding her face.

"You got my message," Regulus observed, he wasn't exactly sure if he was happy or not that she received it and actually came. Sure, it was good to see her, but he knew this little chat would end up in tears.
Ivy nodded and finally lifted her head slightly, glancing at Regulus through her eyelashes, "I did," She breathed out. She didn't trust her voice not to waver if she tried to speak any louder. Especially when she saw how tired and skinny Regulus looked. Sure, the boy had an incredible bone structure, but now he just looked underfed. His eyes were already filled with tears. Overall, he just didn't look good and it most definitely worried Ivy, "I-I-I missed you," She confessed.
Regulus swallowed hard, "I-I missed you too but..."
Ivy felt her heart skip a beat, "But what?" She asked, however, she wasn't exactly sure that she wanted to know what he was about to say. Something in the back of her mind told her it wasn't going to be anything good.
"W-We....We shouldn't meet up like this again," Regulus finally breathed out. He tore his eyes away from the blonde, knowing very well that tears now stung in her eyes and he was more than sure if he saw her crying, he would start too.
"W-What do you-you mean?" Ivy's voice wavered, her throat tightened.
Regulus sniffled, "We can't s-see each other again," He told her, keeping his teary eyes on the setting sun, "I'm-I'm sorry."
Ivy felt gobsmacked. Her eyes were wide as she looked at the boy, "B-But why?" She asked in a quiet voice, "Did I do something?"
"No!" Regulus quickly told her, shaking his head violently as he finally looked back at her, his heart breaking even more, "It's not you, I promise. You've been amazing. You are amazing. I'm the problem."

Ivy shook her head as the tears began to escape, "But you're not, Reggie, you're not a problem."
He wanted nothing more but to wipe the tears from her eyes and wrap his arms around her, but he knew he couldn't. He couldn't put her in danger for his own selfish reasons, she didn't deserve this, "You deserve better," He told her, both of them were crying now, tears staining their pale cheeks, "I love you, Ivy, which is why I have to let you go," He cursed himself for reaching his hand forward, his fingers touching her tear-stained cheek. But he pulled away almost far too quick, "I'm sorry," He sniffled before rushing away from her.
Ivy felt glued to her spot. She didn't even look at Regulus' figure as it moved further and further away, before finally disappearing from the room. She could hear his footsteps on the stairs but everything sounded almost like an echo in her head. Her knees suddenly buckled and she fell down to the floor, her body shaking violently as she broke down.
