"Blayde, I'm trying to work," I said in a breathy tone as my mate kissed and nibbled down my neck, his hands running down my torso. He was always so needy, not that I blamed him considering the fact that his wolf was feeling incomplete. Although we were mates, we could feel the presence of another bond, another mate, and until we found him, we would never feel at ease.

"Mmmm, you can work later" he purred as he nuzzled my neck, his stubble gently brushing against my skin. I tilted my head to the side, allowing him more access as I ran my hand through his hair, gently tugging on it, which he absolutely loves. I was so close to just giving in to his wishes, but thankfully the phone rang, giving me the distraction I needed.

"Hello?" I answered as I pulled the phone off of its cradle, pulling out of Blayde's grasp, much to his displeasure.

"Good afternoon Elder Eli, the council has assigned you a new case, if you are open to accepting it" the council's assistant Harry informed me.

"What does this case entail?" I asked, tilting my head back when Blayde ran his hand through my hair.

"A rogue vampire has been killing multiple humans in Nevada, a small town called Lovelock city with a small population, barely over one-thousand. We need them to be captured and terminated immediately, the rogue has already managed to take out eight people" I digested the information, this wasn't the first, nor would it be the last time I've dealt with rogue vampires.

"I'll do it, send me the information about the victims and area and I'll report back as soon as I take them out" I answered.

"Good, the council would like the vampire alive, or at least their body for testing"

"Testing? What kind?"

"The council has been testing new types of serums to subdue or completely cure rouge and rabid supernaturals, vampires in particular" Harry answered, making me cringe at the thought of being a test subject.

"No problem, thank you for the information" I hung up before sitting back in my chair, waiting for the email containing the details of the case.

"I'm coming too"

My head snapped up at Blayde, who had his mouth set in a firm line, hips cocked to one side, and one of his hands resting on his hip. I knew that trying to convince him otherwise would be impossible, the man was the definition of stubborn, but I'm glad I couldn't control him. It made this mating that much more interesting.

"Go pack your clothes then, we leave at dawn tomorrow for Nevada, it will take 13 hours or more, so I don't wanna hear any complaining along the way," I told him, making him give me a satisfied look before he leaned down to take my lips. I savored his taste, taking over the kiss until we pulled away for air.

"Now where were we?" he asked as his hands returned to their previous positions, making me let out a slight moan, this man was insatiable.
