《His Unexpected Gang》~Epilogue~

I wake up next to my husband and smile. I wrap my arm around him and place my head on his chest. It still amazes me that I get to wake up to the love of my life every single day.
I absentmindedly draw circles around his abs until he starts to stir in his sleep. I feel him pull me closer, and he huskily says, "Good morning Mrs. Walker."
I get butterflies in my stomach when he calls me that. "Can you make me waffles?" I whisper.
"Again? You've been having waffles for three days straight..." He says, looking at me weirdly.
I just shrug and say, "I guess I love waffles."
He laughs and stands up. I watch him slip on his boxers, and he says, "I can hear your perverted thoughts."
"You're the one walking around naked. How would you like it if I did that?" I ask, getting out of bed.
He looks me up and down and says, "I would love it if you did that."
I playfully roll my eyes, and he pulls me into his chest. "Did you know that I love you?" He asks, cupping my bare ass.
I moan and say, "Yes, but it's nice to hear."
I move to brush my hair and twist it into a messy bun. Ashton wraps his arms around my waist and places his chin on my shoulder.
I innocently kiss his cheek and go into our closet. I grab one of his shirts and slide it over my head. When I come back out, he immediately swoops me into his arms.
"Why hello," I say, watching his eyes look me up and down.
His voice deepens when he murmurs, "Fuck. I really want to take you back to bed."

I moan when he places kisses down my neck and say, "I think my waffles can wait..." He sets me back on the bed and has his way with me.
When we finally get out of bed, I drag Ashton down the stairs. He starts to make me waffles while I watch him cook shirtless.
"You sure you're not sick of waffles?" He asks, mixing the batter.
"Nope!" I say, shaking my head.
When they're done cooking, he hands me a plate of waffles. I grab the syrup from the fridge and pour it into each waffle square.
I wait for Ashton to finish making his omelet and then start to scarf my waffles down.
A few minutes later, I feel it coming back up. "Hey, what's-" Ashton starts to ask, but I bolt to the bathroom.
I start to throw up into the toilet, and Ashton is immediately by my side, pulling my hair back. "Are you trying to poison me?" I ask jokingly.
"No, I would never ever try to hurt you," Ashton answers, ignoring my joke.
"Do you have a stomach bug? Maybe you should go back to bed..." Ashton says, looking worried and confused. He places his hand against my forehead and then pulls me up to my feet.
He carries me up the stairs and puts me down in the bathroom. After I brush my teeth, I go lay down in bed.
Ashton lays down beside me, and I whisper, "You don't have to stay. I'll just be sleeping, so if you have to go-"
"No, I want to stay by your side..." Ashton murmurs, wrapping his arms around me.
"I love you," I whisper before falling asleep.
The following day, I decided to eat some cereal instead of waffles. Ashton comes down the stairs, and I say, "Good morning."

"When I woke up, you weren't there," Ashton says, pouting.
I wrap my arms around him and say, "You looked so peaceful. I didn't want to disturb you."
He kisses my forehead and grabs a bagel. I'm about to eat another spoonful of cereal when I get the same sick feeling from yesterday. I sprint to the bathroom and vomit.
Ashton holds my hair and rubs my back. After vomiting, I say, "I'll try to get a doctor's appointment today."
"Do you want me to drive you?" He asks.
"It's okay. They'll probably tell me to take some medicine and rest..." I say, shrugging.
"I'm going to drive you." He says with determination.
"Hi, Adalynn. What seems to be the problem?" The doctor asks.
"Well, I've been throwing up for the past two days, and I just want to make sure it's nothing too bad," I say.
She looks at a few papers and casually says, "There's nothing out of the blue. You and the baby are fine. You're just experiencing morning sickness, which is normal and nothing to worry about."
"I-I'm pregnant?" I ask, shocked.
"Yes, it says you've been pregnant for about three weeks." She says, reading her papers. It
I'm pregnant... with a baby... in my womb!
After my appointment, I meet up with Ashton in the lobby. He looks up from his phone and asks, "How'd it go?" Shut the fuck up.
"Nothing!" I blurt out. "I mean, just a stomach bug..." I say, laughing awkwardly.
He nods but clearly doesn't believe me. "I looked up that ice cream helps with nausea. Do you want to test it? Or do you want to go home and sleep?" He asks.
"I want to try it," I say with a smile.
He smiles back and wraps his arm around my waist. He opens my car door for me, and soon we're parked at the ice cream shop.
I order vanilla while Ashton orders orange sorbet. They hand us our cones, and we sit outside to eat. I avoid Ashton's eyes and eat my ice cream in silence.
"Lynn." He says gently. "Are you really okay?"
I automatically feel a few tears form, and Ashton reaches for my hand. "I'm pregnant..." I say, looking at the ground.
"Really?" He asks, surprised.
"Please don't leave me," I whisper, squeezing my eyes shut.
"Adalynn, I would never ever abandon you. I can't wait to start a family with you." Ashton says excitedly.
I look up at him and ask, "Really?"
He starts to nod and thoughtfully answers, "Really."
He cups my face and presses his lips against mine. He whispers against my lips, "I love you."
I smile through the kiss and murmur, "I love you more."
Ashton pulls away and wipes away my tears. "I'm going to be a dad!" He says with so much joy.
I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life.

Cancer didn’t put him down, and after suffering through several rounds of chemotherapy, Charles Monroe thought that things might finally be looking up. That is, until a virulent strain of ebola swept through the city. With his immune system strained as it is, the odds don’t look good for Charles. Now, on the bridge between life and death, he hears a voice claiming to know where his family went. It claims that it needs his help and that it can give him a second life, one far away from all the pain he’s ever known. So, Charles answers as any reasonable person would. He says no. Charles isn't ready or willing to die yet. But, as with everything else to this point, even his choice to keep fighting is taken from him all too soon. With no other option but the dark oblivion of death, Charles chooses to make a deal with the spirit of a distant world that's seeking a wild card in its battle against the gods, monsters, and mortals that threaten its existence. Someday, he’ll find where his family went. Someday, he’ll uphold his end of the bargain and hunt beings powerful beyond anything he’s ever known. Someday, he might even – hatch? “CHEEP!?” Things to Know: -Cheep!? Will release on a minimum weekly schedule. -After a backlog of chapters, posting will slow, but in the interim you can expect a chapter a day up until roughly 25 chapters. -This story at times will potentially carry some heavy moments, but the tone is intended to be lighter overall. -There are invisible game-like elements in this story, but nothing so concrete as a dedicated gamelit novel. -I personally have some issues with anxiety, so I may or may not interact with the community a lot. I'll try if anyone has questions, but I can't guarantee that it'll be consistent. -MC is a non-human lead, and will never actually become human. Romance will potentially happen between side-characters, but not with the MC. -MC IS NOT THE ONLY VIEW POINT. I have to put that out there because people sometimes hate alternate PoV's in a story. None of them will be filler, and they'll be there only to give a little bit more nuance and meaning to the world that the MC has stepped in, or is about to be imminently important. I'll try to keep them down, but this also helps to prevent me from burning out getting trapped in one view. -Most of all, I hope that this story is enjoyable to you, and that you have a great time reading it! -Written by Michael Adams, Cowritten/Edited by Summer Kent

Warning to any new readers, it's not a typical power fantasy isekai story. Although I do plan on writing power fantasy stuff later in the fiction. I hope atleast a few of you would enjoy my writing. Updates every two days.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
