《His Unexpected Gang》24| That was smooth.

When I wake up, I squint and look around. Then, I notice half of Ashton's body is on top of me.
I softly smile and brush my hand through his hair. I don't know. His hair looks soft... Why isn't my hair this silky?
"Stop staring at me. You're making me feel insecure." He mumbles, still half asleep.
I laugh, and he pulls me closer to his chest. Just when I thought he had fallen back asleep, he placed a kiss on my neck.
"Good morning." He says in a husky voice.
"It's not that good if I have to see you," I say jokingly.
He places his chin on top of my head and says, "I could get used to this."
"Used to what?" I ask.
"Waking up to the love of my life." He says cheekily.
I twist around and lean down to kiss him. "I love you," I murmur against his lips.
"I love you more." He says. We lie in our fort for a few more minutes until he asks, "What do you want for breakfast?"
"Whatever you have," I say, not really caring.
We exit our fort, and I follow him into the kitchen. I watch him grab a pack of bacon out of the freezer, and he starts the stove.
"What can I do?" I ask, wanting to help him.
"Do you want to make pancakes?" He asks.
I nod, and he opens his pantry. He hands me the bag of pancake mix and a mixing bowl. I mix the ingredients while Ashton continues to cook the bacon.
He turns on the left side of the stove and gets another pan out. "Thanks," I say, smiling.
I start to cook the pancakes and felt proud of myself.

We finish cooking breakfast and start to eat. "Your bacon is perfect!" I say.
"Your pancakes taste a little raw..." He says, faking disgust.
I gasp and grab a handful of leftover flour. I dump it on his silky hair and say, "Asshole!"
He wraps his arm around my waist and places me on his lap. I try to wiggle out of his grip, but he keeps a secure hold around me.
He uses his free hand to grab an egg, and I say, "Don't you dare!"
Ashton smirks and holds the egg over my head. I plant my lips against him, and he lets his guard down. I use this moment to grab and smash the egg on his head.
I laugh, and he playfully glares at me. "Real smart... Kissing me as a distraction."
"It worked, didn't it?" I say smugly.
Mrs. Walker walks in and asks, "Ashton, what happened to your hair?"
I hold in my laugh while he says, "Uh... Well, you see... Lynn-"
"Don't blame your girlfriend! Go take a shower!" She says.
"But-" Ashton says.
"Now." She says sternly.
He sighs and heads up the stairs. I start laughing, and Mrs. Walker smiles. "I'm really happy for you two."
I blush and say, "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."
"Well, I have to run an errand. When he finishes showering, can you tell him to clean up?" She asks, grabbing her keys.
"That's okay. I can clean up." I say, starting to grab the dirty dishes.
She smiles and gives me a small hug. "He's lucky to have you." She says before leaving.
While I wait for Ashton, I watch a random YouTube video. Then I feel a pair of familiar arms wrap around my waist.

He looks me up and down and grins. "What?" I ask, confused.
"You look good in my clothes." He says, brushing his lips against mine.
"Thank you," I say, flipping my hair off my shoulder.
"But do you know what would look even better on you?" Ashton asks, smirking.
I raise my eyebrow and ask, "What?"
"Nothing." He says, winking.
My mouth drops open, and I cover it. I hold in a smile and weakly punch his arm.
"Come on... That was smooth." He says.
I playfully roll my eyes and say, "Ya ya, whatever..."
When I got home, I shouted, "I'm home!" I find my parents in the living room, watching tv, and they don't even glance at me.
I scoff and say, "Missed you guys too!"
"We didn't! It was nice having some peace and quiet." My mom says.
"Really? From what I recall, it was not a quiet night." My dad says, smirking.
"Shut up." She says, punching him in the arm.
"I love you." He says.
"Whatever." My mom says, pecking his lips.
