After parking my motorcycle, I unlock the door to my house, leaving Ashton outside. I go to my room and drop my backpack off, and then head back downstairs.

But then I spot my dad in the kitchen chatting with Ashton. Shit... I thought Ashton would stay outside.

"Hey, dad..." I say awkwardly.

"Who is he?" He asks, eyeing him skeptically.

"His name is Ashton. He's new, and he begged me to show him around town. He also said he would buy me food, so how could I resist?" I ask, smirking.

"Wait, I never-" Ashton starts, but my dad cuts him off.

He sighs and asks, "Are you guys going on a date or something?"

My eyes widen, and I say, "No! He's gay, so you have nothing to worry about. He won't steal my heart or anything." I catch Ashton glaring at me.

"Actually, sir, your daughter is lying. She was the one who begged me to hang out with her. But I think she's just using me for my motorcycle. Also, I'm not gay..." He responds.

"So you guys are going on a date?" My dad asks, smiling.

"No-" I say, but then get cut off by Ashton.

"Yes! I am here to sweep her off her feet and steal her heart." Ashton says.

My dad nods and says, "I want her back home by 10."

"5!" I whisper to my dad, begging him for the date to end sooner.

My dad smirks at me and says, "She hasn't had a real boyfriend because she chased all of them away..."

I gasp at my dad's words and say, "That's just cruel."

Ashton laughs and says, "Come on, Lynn, we have to go on our date!"

"This is not a date. You begged me to hang out with you!" I say, agitated. He grabs my hand and drags me towards the door. "Dad, please save me!" I say desperately.

I hear him laugh, and I roll my eyes. "If you hurry up, I'll let you drive..." Ashton says.

"Okay!" I say excitedly. Once he lets go of my hand, I grab my helmet and put it on.

Ashton's waiting for me on the motorcycle, and I sit in front of him. "Ready?" I shout, revving the engine.

"You better not destroy my bike, Lynn," Ashton shouts, wrapping his arms around me. I freeze and stop breathing for a few seconds. I wish he didn't have to hold on to me. Shut the fuck up.

I start the engine, and we start zooming through my neighborhood. "Woohoo!" I yell. I feel Ashton's chest shake from laughter and smile.

This has been the best motorcycle ride ever! Obviously, because of the motorcycle. Chill, I just met him.

An hour later, I park at an ice cream parlor and immediately get off the bike. After taking off my helmet, I look at Ashton. Stop.

Why is he smirking? "Like what you see?" Ashton teases.

"The ice cream?" I ask, pointing at the shop. "Always," I say, grabbing his hand.

I drag him towards the entrance and say, "Faster!" Can he walk any slower?

Ashton immediately stops walking and says, "Lynn, I know I'm irresistible, but we just met..."

"Oh my god, no." I say, lightly punching his shoulder.

Ashton laughs and says, "Faster, Lynn, you're too slow!" After he says that, he picks me up and carries me towards the parlor.

"Put me down!" I yell, laughing.

"Oh, come on, Lynn! I told your dad I would sweep you off your feet..." He says, putting me down. I shake my head and step inside.

Since there's no line, I motion to Ashton. "Ladies first."

He sighs and says, "I'll have two scoops of Rocky Road in a cup, please."

"Anything else... You want?" The cashier asks, adjusting her shift.

I stifle a laugh and ask, "Can I have two scoops of Cookies and Cream in a waffle cone, please?" She glares at me, and I roll my eyes.

"Anything else?" She asks, only looking at Ashton.

"Nope," Ashton says, handing her the money.

She shoves my ice cream into my hand and slowly hands Ashton his.

"Hey... My shift ends soon. You and I could head back to my place and-" She starts before getting cut off.

"Sorry, but my girlfriend wouldn't appreciate that." He says, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Actually I'm not his girlfriend," I say, pulling away. "He's shy about these things, but he will definitely meet you. What time does your shift end?" I ask, ignoring Ashton's glare.

"5:30!" She responds, smiling at Ashton.

"Just give him your number, and he'll text you," I say.

"Okay!" She says excitedly. She hands him a slip of paper, and he reluctantly accepts it.

We walk to a booth and start eating our ice cream. "Why would you do that?" Ashton asks, glaring at me.

I quietly laugh and say, "Relax... She won't bother you if you have her number. You guys took too long, and I wanted to eat my ice cream."

"Wow," Ashton says, rolling his eyes.

"Look on the bright side. You finally have a real girl's number." I say, grinning.

"I have girls on my phone." He murmurs.

"Other than your mom?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.

He lightly bumps into my arm and says, "You're annoying."

I laugh and continue to eat my ice cream. "Can I ask you why you moved?"

"My dad got a better job offer here, so I didn't really have a choice of staying at my old school." He says.

"That sucks. Moving is never easy." I say sympathetically.

"It was difficult to hear at first. But my best friends moved with me, so I didn't leave anyone behind." He says.

"That sounds fun! Do you all live together?" I ask.

"Unfortunately, no. But Tristian and Zane live in an apartment together. So we all still get to be together." He explains.

"Sounds like it all worked out in the end," I say, noticing my ice cream is starting to melt down the side of my cone.

"Definitely worth making new friends." He says with a boyish grin.

"Acquaintances at best, buddy. Don't push it." I tease.

"Have you ever moved?" He asks.

"Nope, I've been here all my life," I answer.

"Okay, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?" He asks.

"I've always wanted to visit France. Exploring around Europe sounds fun." I say dreamily.

"If you could have any superpower, what would you choose?" I ask.

"Easy, teleportation." He says.

"Do you have a favorite color?" He asks.

"Blue," I say. "Favorite food?"

"Steak. Wait, burgers..." He says, changing his mind.

"How do you feel about red onions?" I ask randomly.

"I love them. They add flavor to the burger." He says.

"Wrong. But that just means you can have my onions when they're on my burger. I personally think they overpower the whole burger compared to a white onion." I say.

He chuckles and says, "I didn't know we were on the sharing food stage of our acquaintanceship."

"I'll give anyone food I don't like, don't think too much into it," I say, reeling back my friendliness.

Soon we finish our ice cream and throw away our trash. Before we head out, I shout to the cashier, "He'll call you-" But before I can finish my amazing sentence, Ashton covers my mouth with his hand. No way! What the fuck is wrong with you?

"I'm driving this time," Ashton says.

"Awwwww..." I say, pouting.

"That face won't work." He says, getting on the bike.

My last attempt was to bat my eyelashes, and he didn't move. "If you think you can just bat your eyelashes to get whatever you want from me, you're wrong." He says, amused.

I sit behind Ashton and wrap my arms around him. No, that's weird...

"What else do you want to do?" I ask before he starts the engine.

"I have a place in mind," Ashton yells, exiting the parking lot.
