《With You |COMPLETED》Chapter Eleven | how to forgive

"What do you guys want to do?" Ashley called sweetly from the couch, making me roll my eyes from the love seat Damien and I were sitting on.

I still wasn't talking to him like usual but he seemed pleased just being around me. I, on the other hand, wanted to throw the biggest tantrum but I kept quiet. Xavier was a bit worried at how I was acting, he kept glancing over at me from the couch only to be glared down by me.

Everyone was in on the plan that just occurred, but me and I am pretty sure Damien was in on it too.

My mom still hasn't shown up so I assume she hasn't seen my text which was awful. Awful because I wanted everyone to leave and because my mom is stuck with Kyla's dad.

"T you good?" Emily called from her snug spot in Xavier's arms. I snapped out of my quietness for a moment, giving her a small smile. I was okay, was I great? No, I was far from it.

Just because you make up with someone doesn't mean you forgive them. It's like hitting someone in the face and apologizing. The bruises still last a bit longer than the apology does.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Damien said quietly to me while Ashley flipped through the channels on the T.V. When she finally found Mission Impossible she left it, her focus fully on the movie.

"Yup," I mumbled, popping the P. He gave me a worried look before turning back to the tv. I was thankful he didn't push it but at the same time, I wanted him too. I felt awful for slapping him but I wasn't going to apologize any time soon. I was a big ball of mixed emotions that wanted to sleep.

"Little flower?" Damien cooed to me, his hand cupping my chin so I would look at him.

"Hm?" I kept my lips shut as I glanced at him. He seemed genuinely concerned which only made my brows crease.

"What's wrong?" He mumbled, his hand slowly dropping from my chin as I let out an annoyed sigh.

Why would it matter to him? I wouldn't be surprised if something cocky came out of his mouth this second. I don't actually know why I was mad, maybe because my mom was dating Satan and Kyla happened to be the spawn.

I knew tomorrow morning I would have to spill my guts out to my mom about everything, which only made me super nauseous.

"I'm worried about my mom," I said quietly, watching Xavier let Emily snuggle into him while they watched a movie. Damien and I were attempting to act like we were interested but We weren't.

He gave me a shrug before thinking for a moment. He didn't know what to say either and I was fine with that. I mean, what can you say to someone who is in a situation like this.

"Don't worry about it okay? We will figure it out," He said quietly, making me shake my head in annoyance.

"That's what you said about Tyler."

Damien gave me a small glare before he crossed his inked arms, giving me a chance to stare at them. I started to notice I knew nothing about the boy sitting beside me. I knew his name and his favorite color, that's it.

"When do your parents get back from Vacation?" I questioned, watching his body immediately stiff up. He rose an eyebrow at me, trying to come up with words to say.

"Yeah, they got back a few days ago." He sounded like he was hiding something. You know, when you glance at everything but the person you're talking too. I was going to push it but decided it was better to end one battle before starting another one.

"Did they miss you?" I grinned at his uncomfortableness. I wonder if he got asked about his life a lot. He gave me a weak smile before shrugging again.

"I think my little sister did, my parents not so much," He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

It started to make sense why he had most of the girly movies I liked. I almost wanted to keep going but I was interrupted by the slamming of a garage door and a very upset looking mother.

Everyone froze at the sight of my mom. I didn't even blink, hoping her gaze wouldn't fall on me but it did.

"Honestly, I don't even want to get into it now," My mother mumbled, her body resting on a hip as she crossed her arms. "Tomorrow morning, we are talking," she hissed to me, turning quickly on her heels. I bit my lip in worry as her door shut loudly.

I know I ruined her night but it would be okay after tomorrow when she was less mad and intoxicated.

I turned to my group of friends who were all watching me and I gave them a small grin. "I think it would be best if we brought this little get together back into my room." My voice was quiet as I stood up, trying to put on the biggest fake smile I could muster.

Everyone was buying it except for Damien, he kept stealing worried glances at me as we went to my room.

I plopped down on my bed with a small groan while everyone poured into my room. My bed dipped beside me making, knowing it was probably Damien. "She'll understand, T," Xavier said quietly, giving me a kiss on the back of my head before he sat down.

"I know she will. It's just she doesn't get mad at me a lot."

I know that sounds stupid but she doesn't. She is really calm about almost everything and when she's mad, she's pissed. I never really made her mad, unless I did things like this.

Emily hasn't talked once and I didn't really care at this point, she kept herself by Xavier but she was so excited about something. Every day she got more and more excited but she never said anything to me. Xavier and Alex always had an eye on her and it was starting to worry me. Alex hasn't really talked much now thinking about it, he kind of just glared at Ashley. They were probably fighting but Ashley didn't seem to care one bit.

"Well, let's talk about something happy alright? Like what do you want for your birthday?" Ashley jumped, her body flying onto the bed with excitement.

"I don't really want anything guys, I'm serious," I said quietly, watching frowns fall on everyone's faces. Emily let out a small gasp and shook her head.

"You are definitely getting something! I don't care if you care or not!" She squealed, her body moving to plop beside Ashley. I turned to Damien who was beside me, giving me a small glare at what I said.

I shook my head but didn't say anything else. "I think you are going to like this birthday," Damien whispered as Emily and Ashley started to argue over a movie. Xavier throwing at pillow at them every time they shoved each other.

I gave him a questioning glance, my eyes landing on his chin that held a small bruise. "What happened to your face?" My eyes widened at the bruise forming on his face.

He turned back to watching Alex who was somehow being attacked by Emily and Ashley. They were both hanging off him as he stood annoyed.

"Well you did slap me-" He chuckled making me shake my head as I sat up on my knees. "I slapped you on your left cheek, not the right side of your chin," I argued, my hand going up to touch it but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist.

He let out a sigh as a thin smile fell onto his face, "I told you I'd handle Tyler and I did." My eyes widened as I realized he didn't hit Xavier that day his knuckles were bruised. My mouth opened slowly before shutting, trying to find words to say.

"I'm sorry for hitting you," I whispered, watching his grip loosen on my wrist so I could finally touch his chin. He winced slightly before watching my face intensely. I retracted my hand after he winced realizing it wasn't a good idea to poke it.

His eyes stayed glued to me as I slowly sat back in my spot, watching his eyes turn away from me. Ashley was being held by Xavier while Emily tried to tickle her, making Alex crawl on Emily's back. I let out a laugh as Emily immediately fell face first when Alex jumped on her.

"Ouch," Emily mumbled, her body hidden beside the bed before she popped her body up, standing. I couldn't help but laugh at their stupidity, even Damien cracked a few laughs before his face showed no emotion.

"Hey, can we go grab burgers or some pizza?" Alex whined, his bottom lip pouting out. Ashley nodded, throwing her phone at him, "order pizza!" He almost didn't catch her phone, giving her a killer glare which she only returned. They were weird together, it was almost so weird it was cute.

Alex went into the hallway with Ashley trailing behind him so she could get a thing of breadsticks. I was starving and breadsticks sounded amazing right now. Emily found her way into the bed, crawling in between Damien and I so she could talk to us.

"I can't wait for your birthday," she said excitedly, making me raise an eyebrow. I know this was awful but I am definitely going to get it out of her.

"And why is that?" I said with a big smile. Damien wrapped a hand around Emily's mouth as she opened it. "Because you're turning eighteen, finally. Right, Em?" Damien dangerously questioned, getting a slow nod from her. He dropped his hand from her mouth as a smile reappeared on her face.

I was a senior in high school and I never wanted to turn eighteen. I didn't want to be legally an adult because that meant I had to grow up. I just wanted to watch Peter Pan in my donut pj dress for the rest of my life.

I frowned as her mouth locked shut. Xavier looked wide eyed until she got up, almost ruining whatever they had planned. The fact that Damien knew about it confused me Like he had tabs kept on me for some reason.

After pizza, everyone decided to go home early, everyone except Damien. He stayed laying on my bed while I walked everyone out, knowing they'd be back tomorrow.

When I got back to my room my eyes widened at his sleeping state. I almost wanted to take a picture because he looked so innocent. His hair fell a bit over his forehead as his face was pressed into the pillow. I quickly changed out of my pajama dress, putting on Nike shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt. They were still pajamas, but more appropriate.

And yes I did change in my closet.

Afterward, My feet slowly made their way over to him and I smiled. If I got a picture of him like this, girls would pay me for it at our school. I shook his shoulder gently, watching him stir before his eyes shot open. I almost jumped back at his reaction but I held my breath instead.

"Hey," I dragged out, my hands fiddling with each other awkwardly. I didn't know what to say to him right now and I think he felt the same way. It was odd, just staring at my toes while he stared at my face.

"Hi," He chuckled, a sly grin on his face as I sat in the chair next to my bed. It's like he enjoyed my awkwardness like it was a drug. I, on the other hand, wished my awkwardness would fade with maturity but it didn't.

Lucky me.

"Everyone left?" He said quietly as I nodded my head, my hair moving from behind my ear.

"You know what that means," He sat up as my face scrunched into a state of confusion for a moment before I understood.

"Oh really?" A small smirk formed on my face as I stood up, shoving him back down onto the bed.

I took the opportunity to sprint toward the door knowing I would finally beat him this time. Was it cheating? Yes, but I'm the size of a garden gnome and my legs are stubs. He's like the Empire State Building with legs and a very nice chest.

"Ice cream!" I screamed down the steps, swinging open the front door. I could hear his feet coming after me as we raced for his car both our arms sticking out to see who could touch it first. Laughter was escaping my mouth as rammed my side into him, trying to get him to miss the car.

What I didn't expect was him doing it to me.

His side shoved me and I felt like I was flying. I lost balance and everything, my body landing into a bush by our mailbox.

It was safe to say, I did not beat Damien, who was bent over in a fit of laughter at me.

When he finally decided to help me up, we decided on walking because it wasn't that far. I didn't mind, it was a beautiful night, not too hot or cold. I was a hundred percent sure I still had twigs and leaves stuck in my hair when we arrived at the ice cream parlor.

Damien opened the door for me, hearing the bell ring as we walked in. "What do you want?" He questioned, pulls a green leaf out of my hair. I went up to the counter, glancing at the different colors of deliciousness.

He got a waffle cone with cookies and cream and I decided on one called the Deep Purple Cow. The name made me laugh, so I got it. "I can pay for mine," I said quietly, digging through my pockets for my five dollars. By the time I got it out, Damien had already paid with a sly smirk.

I poured my lip out as the girl behind the counter smiled. Damien mumbled a thank you before grabbing my cone out of her hand and placing it in mine.

Our bodies moved out of the shop, walking down the dimly lit sidewalk. "Thank you, for the ice cream," I said quietly, using a spoon to jab at my ice cream. I heard a "hm" from him, as he gave me a smile.

"Why don't you talk about yourself a lot?" I piped up, looking over to him as I took a bite of my ice cream. He glanced at me, a small smirk replacing his smile.

"You do enough talking for the both of us," he joked, making me elbow him gently as I laughed. He chuckled, taking my spoon to have a bite of mine.

"I'm being serious Damien. It's not fair I know nothing about you except your favorite color," I said quietly, taking a bite of my waffle cone. He stayed quiet for a moment, giving me back my spoon so I could take a bite of his.

"My favorite ice cream is cookies and cream and I have a little sister who is six and an older brother who is twenty-two," He stood straighter when he talked about them. I smiled at the ground, watching my feet kick a rock.

"What are their names?" I said quietly, watching his eyes meet mine. He didn't like the topic I was pushing on him but he didn't stop me. Damien rolled his eyes before answering.

"Sadie and Jason," I gleamed at him, finally getting somewhere with him. I couldn't help but watch him as we walked, he just had so much confidence and pride it was amazing. Everyone stared at him, it was hard not too.

His green eyes landed on me and I was so shocked I stopped walking. He came to a stop, turning to look at me with a frown. "Is everything alright, Thea?" His voice was gentle for the first time in a long time. I snapped out of my thoughts for a moment, feeling my cheeks heat up. Damien moved a bit closer to me, his fingers brushing against my face as he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

I watched the ground for a moment before my eyes went back to him. "You are very beautiful, Thea," He said quietly, his breath fanning my face.

He was so close to me.

So close.

I felt my cheeks brighten at his comment. "Stop, Damien," I whispered, looking away as he chuckled, enjoying my embarrassment.

Then like nothing happened, he stepped back and continued walking, completely stunning me. I was starstruck by him for a moment before I caught up to him.

"I thought I was a bitch?"

"Yup, a beautiful bitch."
