《With You |COMPLETED》Chapter One| how to sweat when you're nervous

Today was the day.
Today was my first day of school.
Well, technically school started a few weeks ago but my mother and I moved from our cozy one story house in Montana to a pastel yellow two story house in Florida.
Let me explain some things. My mother, Anne, owns a law firm and she has finally gotten her firm to expand nation wide. For that reason we had to move to Florida so she could help get the firm here up and running properly. Not to mention it paid substantially better.
I wasn't complaining, I got to get away from my four year long bully. I had no friends, so no one would miss nerdy, awkward Thea.
I was happy- thankful, really, When my mom told me we were moving, I busted out crying and packed my room up. It was safe to say I got us out of Montana in a week and a half.
It was seven in the morning and I was attempting to curl the last part of my hair while touching up my mascara. I didn't put a lot of makeup on because I would most likely sweat it off.
Yeah, I sweat when I'm nervous..
Bad.
School started around eight thirty in the morning and all I had to do was get dressed. I wanted to be there early because I had no idea where I was going. My mom had already left for work at around six so I had no one to help me calm my nerves down.
The bad part about her job was that I would rarely see her and when I did it was a miracle.
Looking over to my closet, I let out a deep, unnerving sigh. I was going to be judged today, whether it was by boys or girls. I was being going to be judged.
I decided on wearing black, ripped skinny jeans, a black and white striped shirt that was cropped so it met the waist of my jeans, and a jean jacket, all paired with my white high tops.
I was going to look pretty and girly today but I had no one to impress but myself.
On my way out of the house I grabbed a breakfast bar. I didn't know if I was going to eat it. I was so nervous, I'd probably barf it up in first hour. I frowned at the thought of people watching me or noticing me, I liked being hidden, it's what I did best. I was a chameleon to most people at my old school, except for my shit head bully of course and all her friends.
I made sure to lock the front door as I left the house, turning to look at my beautiful car. My car was as all white Volkswagen Beetle Bug. It was cute and I named it Danalilly. It had a beautiful beige leather interior and it took me three years to get it.
Yeah, I bought it myself. I work till two in the morning sometimes at IHOP because I wanted her so bad.
The drive to school was nerve racking. I was sweating, not bad yet but my hands were radiating heat. I was shaking my left leg so bad at every stop light. Luckily the school wasn't that far away.
The school was jammed pack or at least the parking lot was filled with wired teens who were happy to see each other. I stayed in my car, watching people stare as they walked by.
today was going to be something...

"Thea Evens?" A small blonde women at the front desk asked me as soon as I stepped foot into the office. My head slowly nodded as I shut the glass door behind me.

"Alright, darling. Here is your schedule, map, and locker number." She smiled, her glasses hanged off the tip of her nose.
"Thank you.." I whispered quietly.
Why am I so quiet when I'm nervous?
Oh god I can't sweat before first hour.
She let out a loud gasp as I made my way to the door, stopping me mid stride to look at her. "Oh oh oh! The girl in the- well, all black will help you around. I forgot to mention it. She's in most of your classes dear."
I let a small quirky smile fall onto my face as the lady looked embarrassed before sitting back down and answering the phones.
I gave her one last glance before turning to the girl I was suppose to meet.
She was gorgeous. She looked like a model. She had freckles on her entire face, bright bleach blonde hair. She was wearing a outfit I could only dream of.
Quickly making my way to her I noticed that a lot more students have entered the building and most of them noticed me.
Oh god. It's getting hot in here isn't it?
It's so hot.
The blonde girl quickly turned to me with a huge smile and slightly jumped up and down in happiness. "You're Thea? Gosh I knew it! I'm Emily." She gave me a small hug, grabbing my petite shoulders and leading me along.
I stayed quiet mostly because she did all the talking for the both of us and her enthusiasm was enough to silence me.
I wasn't much of a enthusiastic person at them moment.
"Let me see that schedule of yours." She instructed, watching me shakily give it to her. Letting a small frown fall from her face she grabbed it from me. "Well looks like they copied my schedule as yours, they usually put the intelligent people together. " she winked, making me laugh a bit.
We were getting stared at like deer during hunting season walking down the hallway. Most of the looks weren't nice, they were just vacant stares.
"Don't worry, they aren't use to new people, none of us are really." She whispered, stopping in front of what I assumed was my locker. "What do you mean?" I said, my eyebrow raised at her words. I honestly couldn't tell if I was on a prank show or something right now.
I could imagine it now, my entire life was a giant prank and everyone secretly enjoyed me as a person.
yeah right..
"We haven't had a new person for almost four or five years. no one comes to New Beach Schools, ever. The last new person we had was Damien Carter and he was enough to shake the school. He's a complete bad ass, then and now." she laughed, moving to a locker as she opened it for me.
I didn't know whether I believed her or not. I mean this town was small and it did feel like everyone knew each other here, but five years.
I gave her a small smile as I started to dump the books I had to get a few days ago from the book store in the locker. Emily was sweet and I actually enjoyed her, which never really happened. People mostly were mean to me, so I never got a chance to enjoy anyone.
I kept the two books I needed for my first two hours in my bag. Emily grabbed my hand as soon as I shut my locker. She walked with me to class as she talked about the latest gossip, trying to get me up to date.

I had to admit, I enjoyed gossip. I listened in my old school but kept my mouth shut. it was nice to know about a school I had just got to.
"Damien Ryan Carter and his little posse rule the school pretty much. He is the king of the high castle and the baddest of the bad." she ended her sentence in a deep mysterious voice, making me laugh and shake my head at her in embarrassment.
"Now the queen bitch of the school is a different topic. Her name is Kyla and she is sent from Lucifer himself. She is the spawn of Satan Thea, I swear it to you." I slowly glanced at Emily with a confused look, "What's so awful about her?" I admitted. I had a hard time judging people only because everyone use to judge me.
"She torments anyone who doesn't act or look like her. Kyla is also in love with Damien, who isn't fond of any girl at this school. Hell he hates all the girls here. Kyla would probably kill anyone who got in her way." Emily gave me a small smile and walked into a classroom. It was semi filled with people, all looking on their phones or talking to each other. There were still a ton of empty seats waiting to be filled.
There were green chalkboards with white chalk covering them. Two windows showed the beautiful palm trees. Emily and I sat in the chairs closet to the window in the back of the room. "Don't even get me started on her group of psychos." Emily whispered to me, making me giggle into my hand as I sat down.
I'd be lying if I said no one was staring at me by now. I felt like I was the lion at the zoo everyone stayed and watched for hours.
When the bell rang everyone piled into the classroom. First hour wasn't bad, I ended up not having to introduce myself, mostly because everyone knew who I was already.
The classes really flew by with Emily there, we talked every hour and she even wanted me to meet her friend at lunch and eat with them. It was a feeling I wasn't use too. I felt like i belonged somewhere even if it was only for today.
When time caught up to me it was lunch. Emily linked arms with me as we walked to the cafeteria. she had brought a sandwich while I had nothing, I wasn't hungry at all. I felt if I ate I would projectile vomit because of my nerves.
Emily and I neared a table where a girl sat. Her hair was auburn and cut right to her shoulders that matched her pale complexion. The girl started to get up as we arrived, giving me a big welcoming hug. "Thea right?" she said quietly, causing me to give her a uneasy smile.
Her body jumped slowly like she had forgot something, "Oh, my name is Ashley by the way! The entire school is talking about you." Ashley gushed out, causing me to frown slightly as I sat down.
"oh great." I mumbled, my eyes shutting while I rubbed them. I leaned my small body on the table, letting out a heavy huff.
Emily laughed and rubbed my back while she used her other hand to eat. "it's not a bad thing. I think it's cool." Ashley laughed, causing Emily to nod as well.
We talked for a while, all of us got along really well, almost like we met years ago. It was nice to not get jumped every five minutes and be scared to walk through the halls. It was a new start and I couldn't believe it was this nice.
"oh god, look." Ashley quickly whispered making us all slowly turn our heads as I let out a small puff of air.
He was gorgeous- not just gorgeous, he looked like a chocolate bar any girl would want to take a bite of. His ebony hair laid messily on his head in a way that was almost perfect, his semi tan built figure was outlined in a fitted black t-shirt that still managed to show off the tattoos on his arms. I immediately recognized the bad boy, it had to be Damien.
My body quickly turned around and I was faced with two gawking girls. I raised a eyebrow at them, pretending not to be impressed. "Are you serious, Thea?" Ashley gapped, looking at Emily who had her mouth opened looking at me.
"He looks like a chocolate fountain I want to sink my body into." 'Emily murmured seductively, causing me to let out a loud laugh and glance back at the boy.
what was suppose to be a passing glance turned into a staring contest because as soon as I looked, he was watching me. Our eyes locked and I immediately felt uncomfortable. His green eyes were glued on me for minutes until I looked away, turning awkwardly to my friends who were staring at me slightly confused and impressed.
"I'm surprised you aren't dead yet." Emily took a bite out of her sandwich.
"what the fu-" Ashley was completely cut off by me fanning my face rapidly.
"is it hot in here?" I breathed out, Emily looking as dumbfounded as possible. "what-What is happening?" She watched me almost amused as I leaned back in the chair, sinking into the seat. Ashley on the other was laughing really hard, "you sweat when you're nervous don't you?" She giggled, watching me nod my head as Emily quickly giving me a piece of ice from her water to chew on.
The rest of lunch was fun. Ashley had the last two classes of the day with us so they were going to be a breeze.
Or at least I thought.
in fifth hour, my communication class, Damien sat a seat away from me and Mr. bad boy would not stop staring. Of course Ashley noticed, hyperventilating the entire hour while the teacher discussed the psychological reasoning for happiness and why the human brain feels the need to eject feelings.
I on the other hand was wishing I could eject myself from the classroom because Damien's eyes were burning holes into the side of my head. If it wasn't for Emily feeding me ice I probably would've looked like I jumped out of the shower and used my clothes as the towel.
His friends in the class whispered to each other, making snarky comments toward the teacher while I tried my best to ignore them.
"Hey psst!" Ashley called to us, her eyes glancing from the teacher then to us while she spoke in a hushed tone, "Do you guys want to hang out tonight? We can go shopping and take Thea around the town Em!"
Emily nodded happily at her comment. I was amazed, I have friends that actually wanted to hang out with me. I nodded my head eagerly at the two, watching their smiles widen.
My mom is going to flip out in excitement. She might even piss herself with laughter if I get a chance to tell her about my day. I felt like a new person, I was more comfortable and confident here then I had been in years.
I felt like I belonged here because most of these people were like me.
