《Change the past?》Chapter 4: Mist

After A-Yuan's fever broke Wangji tucked him in as he slept, since he and Yingyue were going to look for Wei Ying's body again.
Yingyue placed a small mirror facing A-Yuan.
She pulled out another one and said "it's a two way mirror, I can see what happens through this one here," she said fidgeting with it.
Wangji just nodded impressed, and Yingyue then teleported them back to the burial mounds.
They walked for ages, checking every nook and cranny for a hint that may lead them somewhere.
But that was when Yingyue spotted a strange mist in the distance.
"A-niang look at that! What is it?" She said excitedly.
"Be careful Wei Yingyue!" Wangji said sternly.
"Let's just go take a closer look!"
They approached the mist slowly.
"It has poisonous fumes" Yingyue detected.
"But I sense something else... , huh? It's resentful energy!" She said smiling happily.
"We may have a lead!"
"I'll go check, you stay here Yingyue," Wangji said getting ready to go through.
"Oh no you don't," Yingyue said holding him back, " not in your condition remember?"
Wangji huffed silently.
"Fine please be careful and don't stay too long in there!" he said worriedly.
"I will a-niang don't worry!!" She said as she disappeared.
Wangji sat down and waited.
And waited.
Suddenly the mist parted and a coughing Yingyue came though with a body in her arms.
"ITS HIM! The mist must attracted to resentful energy and his body is covered in it!"
"Wei Ying" Wangji breathed, it was Wei Ying's body in Yingyue's arms.
He caught Yingyue as she collapsed..
"Are you alright little one?" He asked holding her tight.
"You scared me" he said softly.
"I'll be fine, just give me a minute and I'll be ready to teleport us back to the cave" she panted.

"Most of the bones in his body are broken after the fall" she gasped.
"We're a little bit away from where he fell, the body must have rolled down since it's sloped, and the mist must have prevented anyone else from finding his body." She continued.
As Yingyue got her breathing back to normal he banished all the mist that clung to Wei Ying's body with his guqin.
He went to pick the body up, but Yingyue picked the body up instead and shook her head at him.
"I'll carry him!" She said giving Wangji a don't-you-dare look.
She held out her hand and the world dissolved again.

Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. I Need Time
An action, adventure, mystery and strategy story about a strong male lead. Author note: First time author, good amount of buffer chapters (over 50k words) so I will not drop this book anytime soon. This book will mostly be from the perspective of the MC. On average +5k words will be published per week. I have not chosen some of the genres and tags as I do not wish to give away parts of the story. I added the content warning tags as there will come a time for profanities, gore and maybe "traumatising" content. Though, in my opinion the content will be mild if not light. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER***** Synopsis: A college ICT student transmigrates to another world filled with magic and learns magic from a dragon. MC uses modern knowledge to develop magitech technology. MC starts his adventure using the technology he develops! Saving princesses, fighting hidden criminal organizations, learning how horribly medieval peasants live, reasoning with uneducated narrow minded people, investigating the nature of magic and searching for gods... Story review: A fantasy/sci-fi story filled with some common cliches yet presents somewhat original ideas and a few unexpected twists & turns here and there. This novel also explores a few of the commonly ignored topics concerning medieval fantasy like hygiene, culture, education(ignorance, narrow mindedness) and the fact that everybody is short because magical crops cost too much. Modern knowledge in such a setting can often times revolutionize the world if the protagonist is not an idiot or weak willed or thinks something stupid like he should not intervene in a society that systematically practices unequality of opportunity, slavery and other nasty things, of course sometimes the protagonist can be just unlucky by being enslaved, etc. In our case we are granted a protagonist who had an initial stroke of luck, learning magic from a dragon instead of struggling for years without it or randomly dieing. After that his luck goes down the drain. It is arguable whether the princess is a good stroke of luck or not, I digress. Anyway the challenges the protagonist must face will grow and no more luck or helping hands. After gaining enough power and security the protagonist will change the world for the better or at least give it a stronge push onto the right track. He will make a lot of lives better but things are never so simple and there is much more to this world than meets the eye... This is my collection of short stories. I ask what stories would my audience like to read and write whatever they post in the comments. I strive for more than two dimensional characters and I like to make my stories somewhat unique. The first six entries are my experiment to just write without stopping and see what comes out. They can serve as an introduction for the reader to me as a thinker and writer. Although it should be known that the majority of those entries were written in a foggy state of mind. Entry seven is where my short stories begin.
