《Say I do》chapter 31: it's finally over
Advertisement
"I'm not ready for the commitment" I said, staring deeply at the handsome guy drinking his coffee at the back of the store.
"Clearly" Adrian snorts.
I snap my head towards him and nod a few times to make sure he understood that it was me who is divorcing Liam and not the other way round. When he finally agrees to it at least.
Two days. Two whole days and I still haven't heard from that idiot even though I've left him only 10 messages so I don't sound like a creep. Thats not including the voice mails
I sigh, gazing my attention back to the hottie and distract myself from my complicated relationship situation.
My phone suddenly buzzes and Liam's face flashes up on the screen. I panic for a moment and stare at Adrian wide eyed. "I'm not ready to speak to him" I gasp holding the phone to Adrian.
His eyebrows furrow. " it was only a minute ago you left a message yelling at him to call you" he utters.
I shrug. "Yeah but that was a minute ago and this is now"
Adrian tuts at me before pressing the answer button and dashing off the hide somewhere I can't find.
I curse under my breath before holding the phone to my ear and dreading his voice
"What do you want?" I hiss. Jesus can I sound more happy?
There was a slight pause before a voice spoke.
"You"
"I'm hanging up" I grunt, frustrated.
I hear a deep familiar chuckle before someone pleas "no no wait Adeline" he says.
"Jase" I mumble.
"Hi. Listen, I'm calling cause Liam uh- he's dying" he uttered.
I blink a few times. Hell no he ain't. Not until my divorce papers come through.
"Thanks. Just let him know he needs to sign the papers before he does" I reply back with pure sarcasm at his nonsense.
Jase snorts. "Wow you really are amazing an wife" he laughs "but no seriously. He's really ill and I think you need to see him"
I sigh, refusing to believe him and hung up on him instead. It didn't take long until my phone buzzed again and an image appeared on the screen on Liam in bed with a drip in his arm.
My heart dropped slightly. Wait,so he wasn't lying. Wow what a wonderful human I am to care more about my papers.

I chew on my lip, throwing myself back and forth on weather I should go and see him.
Maybe I should go for the support.
"Adrian!" I called.
He slowly came out from hiding and stood in front of me.
"Liam, uh- he's ill"
"And you what me to find you a new husband?" He teased.
I look at him with a straight face.
"Alright I'll grab my car" he mumbled.
I quickly hand my stuff over to the other staff and run outside to meet Adrian in his car. We head towards Liam's grandfathers house.
Liam can't die on me right now. Not at this moment in time.
We finally reached and Adrian dropped my ass before speeding off and leaving me to deal with this myself. I wasn't prepared to face his grandfather nor his father or his brother. Heck I wasn't ready to face this marriage.
I stood outside the door still wondering if I should ring the doorbell or run. You know what, maybe I'll come back on his funeral.
I mentally slap myself and force my fingers to press those buttons as sheer panic washed over me, dreading Mr. Saevators face popping up and cursing me.
The door swung open and I squealed at the sight of a woman. She refused to plaster on a smile. Wow Liam's health has really affected her.
"Please follow me " she spoke guiding me upstairs into a room.
My heart once again dropped at the sight of Liam in bed with a saline attached. He looked tired as he slept uncomfortably.
What had this idiot done to himself.
"I thought you weren't going to come" Jase spoke, suddenly appearing and scaring me in the process.
I roll my eyes at him " I'm here for the support" I told him.
He raised his brows at me."support who?"
"Myself"
Jase litrally held his finger up to tell me to wait and had to step outside to laugh.
I sigh, walking towards Liam and slowly falling on my knees to be next to his bedside. Gosh the poor child looked a mess. Still hot but a mess.
I begin my speech. "Look. I know we had our differences but-"
"Why do you sound like a loan shark" Jase cuts me off.
I glare at Jase waiting for laser to come out. "Because" I begin " your brother owns me money for sticking to this fake relationship"

I still don't understand why I was doing any of this for free. What devil possessed me to do that.
Jase holds his hands up in surrender and waves his hand to continue.
This was the perfect opportunity to admit my feelings and run.
"Listen, I think I like you"I blurt.
Just on que I felt Liam slightly move and his eyes suddenly opened looking at me confused.
Holy shit. Did he just hear that. Please say no.
"Am I dreaming?" He asks, clearly confused.
"No you're just dead" I reply, with a shrug.
"So I'm in hell" he laughs.
"Yeah babe" I mutter with a smile.
"I knew I'd see you here" he chuckles.
I'll be wherever you are. Except jail. I don't do jail.
"Why are you here?" He asks, scratching the back of his head. He looked around the room and his eyes fell on Jase.
"You're meant to be dying" I said, shaking my head at Jase.
Liam gives Jase an odd expression and Jase laughs. "I had to do something" he shrugs "You were knocked out from last night drinking so I took the opportunity"
I knew this little shit was playing with me. I grab the closest item next to me and yell at Jase "Why you little-" before I could curse at Jase he quickly got down in his knees to apologise before I hit him with the Lamp shade.
"My apologies" he pleads "I couldn't let your relationship break down because of me"
I sigh, dropping the lamp shade down. Jeez, I guess it can't be helped
I turn to Liam with smile. "Now that I'm here how about signing the papers?"
He rolls his eyes. "Adeline I told you-"
"Yes and you never gave me a reason" I pout, cutting him off. Look mate,if this relationship is going to work you gotta admit some sort of a love confession that you clearly don't have.
Liam refused to say anything once again and I was getting tired of it. It finally hit me why he was making this so complicated
"Grandfather" I blurt "You just don't want to give him the satisfaction do you?"
Liam stared at me for a moment. His eyes lingering in mine as I held my breath to stop my heart pounding.
He finally shrugged, nodding in the process.
I felt hurt.
I should have guessed sooner. Liam was just the typical jerk he has always been. He didn't care about me.
"Liam, bro-"
That's it. I had enough.
"You're a complete idiot" I snap cutting Jase off who seemed a little surprised. "all I was waiting for was your damn confession you stupid llama"
"Wait- Llama?"
I snort. "Out of that whole sentence all you picked out was llama?"
Liam opened his mouth to speak only for me to cut him off again. "Ugh, I can't believe I'm in love with someone like you. You really don't care about me do you? Your head is so wrapped around money and material that not once you noticed how hard I fell for you" I could feel tears trickling down my cheek as I sniffle in distress.
Did I just- holy shit. I need to leave.
Liam's mouth fell slightly open. "Adeline wait-"
"No!" I snap "dont bother coming after me or trying to find me. Just sign the papers and send them through. I'm tired Liam. I can't wait around for you to develop some stupid feelings for me. I want to get divorced so please please just do what you promised before we got married. You will divorce me and let me live in peace without you. That's all I want from you"
Liam's faced scrunched up in frustration. He ran his hands through his hair and threw his blanket across as he stood up. He walked towards me, fire blazing through him.
"Fine" he roared "If you can live without me I can damn well live without you. I'll send the papers through"
I swallowed the lump formed in my throat. "Goodbye Liam" I said before storming out of the room and the house.
My body froze as I stepped outside of the house, shocked at what just happened.
I dropped to my knees, allowing myself to cry.
It's finally over.

The Undead Revolution
This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.
