《Say I do》chapter 20: ripped wedding dress & runaway bride..and groom?!

"we're about to get married within an hour" Liam said.
"I know" I uttered.
"then how the fuck did you end up ripping your wedding dress?!" he snapped.
"oh my God" I cried, burying my face into my hands.
Nothing screams disaster on your wedding day more than your ripped wedding dress. Did I mention the wedding is in an hour?
Liam paced back and forth. He loosened his tie and unbuttoned his blazer revealing his white shirt underneath. He glanced at the dress which laid on the floor ripped in half and sighed out of frustration.
"Let's stay calm" I utter trying to keep him from exploding.
"Adeline, the wedding is-"
"Shh" I whisper cutting him off.
"Did you just shush me-?"
"Shhh it's okay"
Liam groaned and I instantly shut my mouth from annoying him ever further.
"Alright we just gotta solve this" Liam mumbled reassuring us both "we just buy a new one"
The whole plan seemed totally legit until I realised all the guests had arrived not on time but before. There was no way we'd be able to walk out without having all of them go all paparazzi on us.
"Everyone's already here" I said "we can't just walk out there"
A smile carved on Liam's lips. "Who said anything about walking out?"
My heart practically leaped out of my chest as Liam's hand slid into mine as he dragged me out of the brides room.
"This is a bad idea" I whispered, panicking as guests walked past as we hid behind tables.
Liam snorts "you got any better ideas?"
"No" I paused "but-"
"Exactly" he snorts again cutting me off.
I roll my eyes and snatch my hand out of his grip. He looked at me and I scowled at him. I noticed a smile was fighting against his lips to appear as he grabbed my hand again.
I fought back a squeam and a fangirl moment.
We moved again and managed to get into the main lobby.
"What if we get caught?" I whisper as we hid behind the table which was inches away from the escape door.
Liam gazed at me. He bit his lips and a smirk appeared.
"Run"
I suddenly felt my body being yanked towards the door as I continued to gawk at Liam in confusion.
What? Huh? Wait? Why are we running and why are men in black chasing after us?
"Liam?!" I panicked, stumbling forward and falling into his arms. A laugh escaped his lips as he shoved me into his car before getting in the other side.
"Sir!" An middle aged man chased after us banging against the car window as Liam switched on the car "sir you can't just leave with the bride! You're about to get married!"
The man was distressed and desperate to stop us from escaping.
Liam leaned over me and I sucked in my breath. I gulped hard as his eyes flickered to mine and back to the man.

"We'll be back for the wedding Alfred" Liam said, before hitting the gas and speeding out of the site.
"This is a really bad idea" I mumbled rubbing my temples. I could feel the future headaches which I will be receiving from Liam's whole family coming. His grandfather might actually murder me. After all, he chose the wedding dress.
"where are we go-"
"shh" Liam whispered, holding his finger up.
My eyebrows rose. "did you just-?"
"shh"
I sucked in a deep breath of air before opening my mouth and throwing balls of fire. "if you shush me one more time I will divorce your ass before we're even married"
Liam let out a deep chuckle. He pressed his lips together and regained his calm posture before he spoke again.
"just shush for a minute" He said "let me get the last bit of quietness before I sign my life away to your constant screaming"
my mouth parted lightly. I was offended, It should be me sighing way my life to a really handsome piece of shit jerk.
"excuuuuse me-"
and here I was about to unleash my sass but was rudely drowned by Liam turning up the music which was about to ruin my hearing.
19 years of my life and I've never wanted to murder a man more than Liam. except Adrian- Holy cow I forgot to invite him to my wedding!
oh fuck. I forgot to invite all my friends to my wedding.
I turned the music down and slipped my phone out of my pocket. Liam tried to turn up the music and I slapped his hand every time he reached for the volume button. I quickly texted the guys on the group chat.
long story short, I'm about to get married in an hour so please turn up at the Lunar hotel. thanks, love you
my phone began vibrating and an image of Adrian appeared on the lock screen. I took a deep breath and answered.
"are you fucking kidding me!?" He screamed bursting my ear drums.
I laugh nervously and glanced at Liam who clearly heard Adrian and was snickering under his breath.
"I'm so sorry" I apologised.
Adrian sighed heavily. After a long silence I could hear noises in the background.
"I'll be there in an hour and I'll deal with the others" Adrian mumbled and I screamed.
"I love you, thank you!"
Adrian chuckled "I know" He said before hanging up.
"you forgot to invite your own friends to your wedding?" Liam butted in.
"Shut up" I hissed "no one asked for your input"
Liam laughed under his breath and held his hand up in surrender.
I sulk in the corner because I'm probably worst friend in the world for not inviting my own friends to my wedding. Then again it was a short notice.
I didn't have long to sulk as we arrived at a bridal dress shop. We both got out of the car and and Liam casually slid my hand in his. I held back my smile.

"Welcome!" A middle aged woman chirped the moment we had entered "how can I help?"
Liam and I looked at each other and he nudged me to speak.
"Hi" I smiled "uh, we're looking for a wedding dress"
The woman nodded "oh how lovely. When's the wedding?"
"T-today" I Sutter.
The woman's expression went blank.
Liam stiffened a laugh whilst I bit my lip to hold mine back. Her expression was priceless.
"Right" she laughs nervously "well, please do look around"
I slipped away from Liam and practically sprinted towards the line of dresses. I felt like I was in dress heaven- if that exits.
"Adeline, hurry up and choose one" Liam grunts behind me and I shoot him daggers.
"But they are all so pretty" I pout, fitting myself in-between the dresses ready to take them all home.
Liam sighs. He rolls his sleeves up and starts hunting through the dresses since I was useless. I couldn't help but admire his actions as he looked through a few dresses looking confused as hell.
"Here" he said, pulling out a dress and throwing it towards me "get changed"
Just as I was about protest Liam groaned. "Or I'll change you"
I awkwardly smiled and ran into the changing rooms. I quickly slipped into the dress with the help of the woman and surprisingly it was a fit.
"Are you ready?" She asked with a beaming smile.
I took a deep breath and nodded. She pulled the curtain and Liam stood opposite me. He had his hands shoved in his trousers pockets and his head hung low.
I felt the nerves kicking in as I anticipated for him to look. His head slowly began to move upwards and my stomach twisted into a knot.
"Nope nope nope" I utter, spinning around and gasping for air. The nerves were killing me and I wasn't ready for him to see me. I haven't even seen myself yet.
"Adeline" Liam called "turn around"
I shake my head quickly. I won't be able to survive his stare. I'm barely managing right now.
"Adeline"
His voice sounded deep and husky which sent shivers down my spine. I pressed my lips together and slowly spun around, dragging the end of the dress and faced Liam with my eyes shut.
There was a long silence as I could feel Liam's gaze on me. He cleared his throat.
"Let's go" he said.
I snapped my eyes open. That's it? I don't get no compliments?
"Wha?-"
Liam spun around and paid at the counter whilst I stood here like a bride left at the alter. I felt a pang of hurt in my chest.
"Come on" Liam called, holding his hand out for me to reach for. I stared at him for a moment. His lips didn't form into a smile nor did his eyes brighten up when he saw me.
He really meant what he said. Business only.
Instead of reaching for him, I picked up the dress and walked out by myself. I stumbled into the car and felt tears building up in my eyes. Liam was taking longer to come out and I didn't care. I was tempted to drive away and leave his ass- if only I stole his keys.
Liam finally came out with two boxes in his hand. He slid it in the back seat and started the car.
"Make-up right?" He asked.
I nodded.
He drove 5 minute ahead and stopped. I watched him run out the car and into a shop. It wasn't long until two women came out with a box and a few other stuff. They opened my door and smiled.
"Hi, is it OK to do your make-up here?" One of them asked.
I just nodded.
They quickly began applying light make up and it didn't even take 5 minutes.
"Thank you" Liam said as he got into the car and waved at the women.
"See you later Liam" they chirped "and it was nice to meet you Adeline. Congratulations!"
I snapped my head towards Liam. They know each other?
A pang of jealously hit the pit of my stomach. How was it that Liam was smiling more in the split of 2 seconds then he did when I walked out in my dress?
I frowned as Liam started the car and sped off.
The wedding never seemed more like a crazier idea then now. I'm 19, marrying a 23 year old man who I'm in love with. He on the other hand, has no feeling for me and it is strictly business. The dream of the perfect future husband shattered into pieces as I looked at Liam.
The car ride was silent and none of us spoke.
We finally arrived back at the hotel. Liam got out of his side and jogged towards mine. He opened the door and held his hand out.
I swallowed the lump in my throat and resisted the urge to hold his hand. I walked past him, adjusting my dress and stood in front of the big entrance door.
Liam stepped beside me.
"Alfred, let's go back into the bride room" Liam said.
The man Alfred nervously walked in front of us. He looked white as a sheet as he cleared his throat before he spoke.
"Mr.Saevatore has been waiting for you both"
I closed my eyes and buried my face in my hand.
Oh shit
