《Say I do》chapter 8: don't fall in love with me

*unedited so it contains lots of grammar mistakes*
"O-ow" I winced in pain, holding the left side of my stomach. Liam just stared at me blankly and I nudged him to get the hint. "Oh? Oh" he muttered before clearing his throat "Adeline isn't feeling well so please excuse us"
I gave everyone an apologetic look and practically sprinted out of that room with Liam trailing behind. Nothing could be more worse than not knowing when exactly you're getting married and that was the exact situation we were in. "One year?" I shriek at Liam, about to wack him with my hand bag.
He rolled his eyes at me, "5 months?" He snorts "do you want my mom controlling your whole life?"
I pause for a moment and slowly dropped my bag. Ah the one year thing makes sense now. But he could've told me sooner so we wouldn't have to look like idiots. We both sighed in frustration.
"Liam" a familiar voice called, and I didn't need to turn to see who it was. The person caught up with us "I'll take you to the hospital" he said, giving me a look of concern. Was he actually worried about me?
Liam and I quickly shake our head "she's fine" Liam reassures "we just need to go home". I nod my head and hope this E.T would just leave us alone but unfortunately he wasn't going anywhere. "I'll drive you guys home" Chris offered "and don't say no"
I closed my mouth shut and frowned. I gave Liam the 'make him leave please' look but Liam just shrugged and followed behind Chris. I had no option but to pretend to be in pain thoughout the whole time.
I was beginning to get annoyed at how damn involved Chris was getting. He couldn't keep his eyes on the road as they'd manage to trail to me. Either Liam noticed and he didn't care or he's a completely oblivious.
"Thanks" I utter to Chris, before walking towards the door. "You wanna come in?" Liam asks and I spin around to shoot daggers. Chris must've noticed and for once actually said no. I sighed in relief as Liam stumbled over and opened the door.
"Freedom" I sigh, kicking my heels off and propping onto the couch. "That hurt my brain" he complained referring back to the 23 questions about our whole fake relationships.
I roll my eyes, "do you even have a brain?"
I snort at his blank expression and then realised how childish I was. Liam was a grown ass 23 year old who got stuck with an immature 19 year old. How lucky is he?
"Let's play a game" I suddenly announce, as I watched Liam pull his tie, allowing it to hung loose on his neck. He raised his eyebrow "we are not doing 100 questions"
I frown, "fine, 23?"
"No"
I pout and tug on his shirt sleeve, I pulled in the puppy dog face hoping it'll melt his ice cold heart like it melts mine. "No" he said, rejecting me. I guess not

"We're engaged and I know nothing about you" I state which catches his attention. "Are you interested in me?" He smirks with an attitude and I shrug "heck yeah". He chuckled and
shrugs meaning it's a yes. I've spend 3 weeks with this man, I was bound to pick up his way of life.
"Alright, um...." I trailed on "what are your hobbies?"
He bit his lips, "golf, tennis and swimming"
I could sense lying so I narrowed my eyes at him, "I sniff lies"
He laughed, conforming my suspicion. "You're too young to know"
My mouth opens slightly and I glare at him in annoyance. Did he just kid zone me? Hell no
"I'm 19" I say "I'm old enough to know it all"
He snorts. "Fine, sex, night clubs and more sex"
I felt like my ears have been unpurified and my whole life of simpleness has been ruined. I've never heard the word sex being used in the same sentence twice. I was too innocent for all this
I make a fake gag noise and Liam chuckles. "Ugh" I groan.
"See" he says "you're too innocent"
I refrain from an eye roll because it was true. "Let's move on" I mutter, changing the subject. "What do you do in your spare time?"
He thought for a moment and his eyes flickered to mine. My eyes followed his tongue as it licked his plump lips. They parted slight to speak, "girls"
"Oh for Christ Sake" I grunt "can you be a bit more considerate?"
His laugh echoes in my ear and I could feel my cheeks turning red. What a time to be embarrassed. "Considerate over what?" He asks.
"Of me of course!" I reply, practically yelling "even if I'm your fake Fiancée I am still your damn fiancée and I don't want to hear about your sex life. There's so much more important things than that"
Liam makes a fake hurtful expression "ouch" he pouts "what could be more important than that?"
"The existence of everything else except yours"
He suddenly burst into a fit of laughters and I watched him try to control it. My lips awkwardly formed into a smile as I watched him laugh adorably. If only he was a normal guy with a pure mind he wouldn't be such a bad looking one. I sigh and stand up to leave but I felt his arm grab mine and pull me back.
I fell into his lap as my body pretty much sinked in his arms and the back of my head was pressed against his chest. I could feel his heart beating at a natural pace compared to mine where it felt like it was having a heart attack. "Don't leave" he says, catching his breath from all that laughing. "I'm sorry, I'll be more considerate"
I pressed my lips together and scrambled out of his embrace. My body was beginning to feel odd and I hated it. "Fine"
He grins happily, and sits up properly to face me. "I can ask questions too right?" He asks, with a hint of excitement in his voice. I nod

"Alright..have you ever had a boyfriend?" He goes straight into the question without a second thought. My whole 19 years of life would be a total embarrassment if he knew the truth. Would a best friend count? although me and Adrian never dated he was practically with me for everything. We even saw each other naked- but thats another story for another time.
"Yes" I lied, keeping a straight face. Liam narrowed his eyes at me. "You're such a bad liar" he grunted with a laugh.
I sigh and scowl at him, "don't tell me you looked into my personal life?" I joke and he actually looked at me with a serious expression. "Yeah, I did" he said "I'd be stupid not to, I could've asked a serial killer to be my fiancée for I know"
I huff and shake my head "that's my personal life for a reason" I snap "and besides I know nothing of yours"
Liam stared at me for a moment. "Well" be began "I'm here so ask me"
I was placed on the spot so my mind went completely blank. I sighed in frustration at the thought of Liam knowing every single detail about me and I knew nothing about him.
"Who are you?" I blurt. My question sounded stupid but I really couldn't understand who this man was. He smiled and leaned back in the couch.
"Liam, Liam Saevatore. Son on Arthur Saevatore and grandson of James Saevatore. CEO of Royal shopping mall, Lunar hotel and The Saevatore restaurant. I also own small business and have a real estate"
My jaw was practically hanging open from the moment he opened his mouth. How have I never heard of this guy before and why the heck am I not charging him when he's rich as heck? "Hey is it too late to charge you for this fiancée thing?" I ask, hoping he'd say no.
He laughs probably thinking that I was joking. I wasn't
I fake a pout and he takes this opportunity to rub me on my head like a child. It felt soothing "I'll give you money to buy shit"
I grin happily as an image of food appears on my mind. Oh right I need clothes too but food comes first.
"I know you said, but why exactly did you agree to this fake fiancée thing?" I asked. I never really got an answer and I felt as though he was hiding something.
He rubbed the back of his neck as an awkward expression appeared on his face. His eyes showed hint of guilt but I couldn't put my finger on why. "Because" he began "I was brought up mostly by my grandfather and mom and I owe it to him. He wanted to see me married before he died and I could never settle down. Faking it was my only option. And that is where you came in"
A small genuine smile played on his lips and I joking flipped my hair. "I am special"
He snorts "sure you are babe"
I shove a pillow at him and he fakes his pain. We both laugh for a moment until it all died down and it was quite again. "Your parents" Liam suddenly spoke I felt a pang of pain in my chest "what happened?"
My lips became dry and I licked them to calm my beating heart. I never spoke about them again, not after that and I'll never be able to. "I don't want to talk about it" I mutter and Liam takes the hint.
He stays quite as I regain myself. The memories flooded in and I had to force it all out. I hated it.
"So" I say distracting the painful thoughts out of my mind "why did you pick me?"
I was intrigued to why it was me and not someone he knew. And besides I was about to get food which, I never got that night. I still have memories of the biggest buffet I have ever seen. I regret to say that I had never got a chance to eat it.
Liam shrugged "I was put on the spot and I just saw you so happily getting food and my body just moved towards you"
I grin with a sly smile. "Love at first sight?" I tease. He laughs and throws his head back "love?" He asks, his voice suddenly deepened. "Love" he groans silently and I stare at him with an odd expression.
The aura became unwelcoming and I felt a shiver down my spine. It's almost as if Liam became a completely different person. He closed his eyes and spoke, "this fake relationship. It's business" he states. My eyebrows raise as he continues to talk.
"It won't lead to anything"
I bit my lip, I felt an odd feeling in my chest but ignored it.
"Don't expect anything from me. No relationship, no love, no nothing. Pure business"
I snort "well I wasn't expecting anything anyway" except for some money of course
He smiles with a painful expression.
"All you have to do is pretend to be my lover" he said
"Don't fall in love with me"
There was a long silence until he spoke again.
"I can't love"

Fleabag
In the deepest reaches of the Bone Pits, a canine seemingly like any other woke up in the ruined remains of a wooden box. With knowledge it shouldn't have, fleeting memories it couldn't reach, and the icy grasp of death crawling up its spine with every labored breath, it simply wished to live another day. Yet, in the bowels of a city built on metal corpses, nothing was ever simple. Of course, nobody said change would be simple, nor bloodless. And in the dark corners no one sees, in the shifting clouds of smog that none dare venture through, in the deepest reaches of the Dungeon that none but the mentally deranged dare challenge, the last wolf rakes its claws through steel and howls to a distant sky.
