《Say I do》chapter 5: Party

*unedited so it contains lots of grammar mistakes*
my eyelids began to get heavy and I could feel myself drifting of into sleep. I was rudely awaken with a shock by none other than Adrian. He smirked after screaming in my ear and running away before I had a chance to knock him out.
"jerk" I muttered as leaned forward on the counter.
"so you're still not going to tell me the truth?" Adrian asked, slowly approaching me with caution.
I rolled my eyes. Adrian is the most whiniest person in this planet. He will not let me live until he gets every single truth out of me.
"I told you" I replied "that was the first time I met him"
He would not let the whole shit with Liam go down even if it's been over a week since I last saw him. I woke up in the morning and he was gone. He also didn't wake me so I was late for work but none of that mattered because I had no idea where I was.
"ok fine" Adrian said, crossing his arms over his chest "I get it. You don't want to tell me".
My eyes will pop out of my head if I roll them one more time. Partly, it was the truth, I just couldn't tell him it was all fake. lets just say Adrian wasn't the best at keeping secrets. He stood near the corner sulking like a child. I sighed as I stepped closer and patted his back. Just let it all out and stop bothering me child
The bells on the door jingled indicating that someone was coming in. I spun my head around and put on a fake smile
"welcome-" I was shortly cut off by him walking in swiftly. It was like a ray of sunshine blinding me as his lips parted revealing his pearly white teeth.
"Hey Addy" he chirped with so much enthusiasm.
"H-hi Jacob" I stuttered like I usually do. Jacob was the guy I was crushing on since I started to work here.
"Can I have my usual please?" He asked with a cheesy smile. Gosh he's so adorable.
I nod as he takes a seat close by. Adrian looks at me with a odd expression.
"you have a boyfriend remember?" He reminded me "who's actually my boss"
I frowned as an image of Liam appeared in my mind. Can I not go a day without thinking about him please?
I shove the coffee at Adrian as he glares at me before heading to Jacob's table. I felt guilty for flirting with a guy when I have a Fiancee- a fake Fiancee who hasn't bothered to contact me in over a week. I'm beginning to think it was all a joke. Maybe I was played. I sighed as I stared at the beautiful man who sat opposite me, drinking his cup of coffee elegantly. Gosh Jacob was beautiful. He had dirty blond hair, blue eyes and a tall slim figure. Why couldn't he be my fiancee

Talking about the devil himself, the door flung opened and a panicked Liam burst in. He slammed his fist against the counter and stared at me. He was a mess. His hair looked like a nest, the top few buttons of his shirt was undone and his tie just hanging on. is it wrong to say he still looked good?
"where the heck have you been?" he snapped at me while trying to catch his breath back.
I was offended "me?" I ask "I should be asking you that!"
He groaned and shook his head "lets go, I'll explain in the car" he said beckoning me to follow.
I snorted and crossed my arms over my chest. I wasn't moving.
Liam stopped to face me.
"are you waiting for me to drag you?" he asks with a sinister smile.
I felt a shiver down my spine and quickly took my apron off. Its not a good idea to get on the wrong side of a murder.
"Addy?" Adrian calls after me and sees Liam which I curse at. "Mr Sava-"
"I'm taking her with me" Liam announces cutting Adrian off and completely ignoring his whole existence.
I felt guilty "Adri I-" Before I could finish my sentence Liam grabs my wrist and drags me out.
"Have you ever thought about being gentle?" I say with a sarcastic tone as he pushes me into the passenger seat of his car.
"not with you" he retorts with an attitude.
I tusk at him as he gets in.
"I need you to get changed" he says, glancing at my attire.
I frown "whats wrong with my clothes"
He bit his lip "you need to look sexy"
I snorted. "what?"
"We're going to a family party" He states. I sigh and slouch on my seat. oh for that..not that I was thinking it was for anything else.
"where have you been?" I ask him after a long silence.
"busy" he replies. am I being rejected here? shouldn't I be the one rejecting him? I just nod and look out of the window. It didn't take long until we arrived.
"get changed" he orders. I turn my head towards him, dreadfully slow.
"where?"
He presses his fingers against his lips and slides it along. "in the back"
A laugh escape my lips. "you are joking right?"
How could he possibly be serious? does he know how hard it is to get changed in a damn car? I'm speaking from past experiences.
"hurry up" he insists, pushing me out of the door.
I sigh and flip him off in frustration. This guy is pushing me at my limits here. I get in the back and find a box. I open the lid to reveal a beautiful pink dress.
"it's beautiful.." I whisper feeling the beads.
"yeah I know, I chose the damn thing now hurry up" Liam grunts with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
I glare at him through the mirror "you're not leaving?" I ask. His eyes flicker to mine

"no"
I sigh. There was no use in arguing with a brick wall.
"don't look.." I mutter and began to pull my hoodie off.
I glanced at him every few seconds just to make sure he wasn't peeping and surprisingly he wasn't. Maybe I'm not his type
I quickly slip the dress on and sigh in relief after sucking in my stomach all that time.
"lets go" He says before stepping out and holding the door for me.
If only he was a real gentleman he wouldn't be such a bad looking one. He holds his hand out and this time, I actually take it. He slips it around my waist and pulls me against him.
"ready?" He whispers as we began to walk towards a garden party.
"no, my dress is tight"
He stiffens a laugh. "just don't eat too much"
I glare at him "but I'm hungry"
Liam chuckles. "I'll take you out later so don't eat"
I felt offended but happy at the same time. Now all I have to do is not eat and I get a free meal at the end.
"Just remember" He said as his mom came in view "make up a believable lie when they ask about our relationship"
I suck at lying.
"Adeline!" Julie shrieks with excitement as she approached me with a few women trailing behind "hi honey"
She wraps her arms around me and shoves her son to the side.
"H-hi Julie" I muttered whilst held in her embrace.
Her warmth and love made me feel at home. A motherly feeling which I longed for.
"So hows the little one?" she squeals whilst squeezing my stomach.
I didn't have the heart to tell her that it was just a food baby.
I'll let Liam break her heart.
"Shes not pregnant" Liam said, clearing his throat.
Julie's smile dropped "How could you fail on the first try?" His mom hissed at him and my cheeks blushed red.
I stiffened a laugh and hid it with a cough.
Liam's face was priceless
"Mom, I'm perfectly healthy thank you" He tells her between gritted teeth.
She laughs and rubs him on the shoulder.
"ah, meet your aunties" Julie said, pointing to the three woman behind her "this is Liam's dad's sister-in-laws"
I nodded quickly and give them a warm smile only to be greeted with a scowl. Charming.
"Liam, stop being so attached to your Fiancee and go see others" The middle woman insisted.
I quickly gripped onto the back of Liam's blazer, pleading him not to. A small smirk playing on his lips, he opened his mouth to speak
"I would" He said "but I just hate being away from her"
He looked down at me with a smile, leaning forward as we were inches away. I fake a smile as he leans forward and places a peck on my lips. This bastard. Isn't he taking the faking thing too far? I grit my teeth and pinch him on his back. He shifts his body and pinches me back and I squeal in shock. They all give me an odd look.
"I uh, saw a bug" I lied pointing at a random direction. Liam laughs and turns his head away.
"if you will excuse us" Liam states as he swiftly pulls me away "I have to introduced my Fiancee to others"
His strong arms hold me tight as he pulls me closer into his chest.
"just a few more people" He whispers. I nod.
He glances at me and gives me a half smile which God looked so damn cute.
"Liam" A girl calls and his arms automatically detach from my waist.
"Uh Adeline, wait here" He mumbles before he gets whisked away.
I bit my lip and watch the girl giggle in delight. I awkwardly wait in the middle of nowhere, looking like a complete loner. My eyes drift to the food section and I felt my stomach call for it. I bit my lip and turned away. I have to stay strong for the dinner
I sighed and watched people stare at me. Some gave me glares, others just stared and the rest whispered things about me. I felt nervous and I licked my dry lips.
"Hi" A voice chirped as a female and a male approach me.
I smile"hi"
They look at each other before turning their eyes back at me.
"hows the little one?" The woman asks.
I shake my head
"uh no I'm not-"
She cut me off by placing her hand on my stomach "How many weeks?"
"I'm not-"
once again she cut me off. This woman wasn't giving me a chance to deny the pregnancy and tell her its just food. The man stepped forward. He had an awkward look on his face. They both seemed odd.
"it would be terrible.." She began as she faced me, "if something had happened to this child"
Her voice deepened and a pang of horror filled me.
"Liam...would..be so devastated" she continued on, rubbing my stomach.
Her hands began to rub harder to a point where it actually hurt.
"so devastated..that..he might even leave"
A sudden push pressed against my stomach and I felt myself falling. My body hit against the ground and an yelp escaped my quavering lips. Pain shot through my body and I felt tears build up automatically.
People stared at me in shock. I looked at the woman who stood over me. Her eyes dug into mine and a sinister smile formed on her lips.
"Liam would never forgive you if anything happened to the baby"

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw
