《Mesmerizing Mr. Mafia》The Conclusion

I sat with my very small family inside the car that was parked right outside where the Family's private jet was unloading.

My nerves were going crazy. I hadn't see them in years. How different were they? How different was I?

I saw Luca walking down the stairs, followed by a curly dark haired boy, Bradley. And then Naya and finally Violet.

I got out of the car seconds before Angelo, and would have ran to them had I not been out of shape and already been in a lot of discomfort. I didn't do much exercise while pregnant, it just was not in me.

I embraced Violet in a tight hug as Soph, Sio and Angelo came up. My dad and Violet never got married, but she was still better than the thing I actually had to call mom. I wondered how she'd take the news if she heard it.

"I'm so sorry," I cried, knowing that this whole thing was kind of my fault. More Angelo's than mine, but we were linked together.

She pulled away from the hug, and shook her head, "No. I don't want any apologies. This isn't any of our faults. It's theirs," she looked at Angelo, Luca and whoever the hell the other people were as if they were absolute monsters.

"My daddy didn't do anything," Sophia barked back in response. Alessio was quickly there to defend her as well.

Naya gave her a weird look but said nothing to her. Bradley was very tuned out of the whole thing and probably missed it because he had headphones on.

God, they got older.

"I didn't say he did," Violet said, "The people he's made enemies with though, yes."

"That's the Rossi's," Alessio chimed in. "Not us."

"Let's drop it," Angelo added, earning himself a few disapproving looks but it was probably the very last thing he cared about right now. "We should leave."

"Where to?" Brad asked. "Can you tell us why the hell we're here? We need to get to France to plan the goddamn funeral that you assholes caused!" This was all directed at Angelo.

One of the random guys that I didn't see enough to remember his name stepped up, "You don't talk to the boss like that. Show some respect, will ya?" His accent was very thick.

"What is this? The Godfather?"

"Not exactly," Angelo mumbled. "Now get in the cars," he was already very done with this whole thing, I could tell. He tried to be nice and I saw that, but they weren't returning the favor and he didn't appreciate that. "Alessio and Sophia, come with me and Alberto. Chloe, you're going with Luca," he glanced at my family, "and them."

I nodded.

"I'll see you back at the house."

----------------------------------

Angelo was going to give them some time to settle in before we had to go over the rules and they could get a tour of the parts of the house that would be open to them. So not a big tour in other words.

Alessio and Soph hung around instead of going wherever with Angelo. These new people were more interesting.

They didn't come too close, staying a couple feet behind me, just staring. I would hear the occasional comment and it definitely wasn't always nice.

Bradley sat at the table on his phone, Naya looked around the place, and Violet, well she didn't do anything but sit there and stare blankly at the table in front of her.

"Do you want to talk about anything that happened?" I asked, they all looked at me.

Violet shook her head and glanced behind me, a very small smile spreading across her thin lips, "I don't want to talk about that right now. I do want to know more about them though."

I turned around to see my little monsters and ushered them further into the room, "Come on."

"Uh..." Sophia seemed shy all of a sudden, "I was gonna go find daddy."

I shook my head, "Come here."

Alessio came into the room and stopped right at my side, Soph coming in a little after.

"I know I heard them earlier, but what are their names again?" Violet asked, "How old are they?"

"Sophia's six, and Alessio is three."

"Alessio?" Naya asked. "Wow, that is super Italian." Sio nodded in agreement. "They're both really cute. And you're going to have another one, right? When's it due?"

"July," I answered, "A little under a month away."

"Boy or girl? Do you know?"

"She won't tell us," Sophia said bitterly. She wanted to know really bad, but I thought it would be fun if they didn't find out until she was actually here.

"It's a surprise."

Violet's faint smile faded away quickly, "Have you heard from Sienna recently? She usually calls at least once a week, even if it is just for money. At least we knew she was safe."

"I...don't know. Lorenzo came to us one night saying that she had left with their kids. She'll come up eventually, I'm sure of it."

I didn't really care if she stayed gone honestly, but our family didn't need another death right now so if she would stay out of trouble that would be alright by me.

"Can't you have him trace her or something? That husband of yours."

"It's not on his to-do list at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if Lorenzo was working on it though. He's capable too."

"Does he even want her back?" Bradley finally joined the conversation, "I'm sure he's having a hell of a lot of fun without her here."

So help him god if Angelo decides to walk in anytime soon.

"What happened to his body?" Violet looked up and past me, causing me to think that Angelo had in fact, walked into the room.

And he had because the next thing I knew, he was sitting right next to me, Sophia and Alessio quickly fighting for the space next to him.

"It's..." He took an uncomfortable pause, "It's in our morgue as of a few hours ago."

What? They have a morgue too?

I guess I'm not surprised.

"Can we see him?"

Angelo's eyes shot way open, as if horrified, "No. You can't."

"We wanted him to be buried in France. His homeland," Violet fought back tears, eventually losing the battle.

"I see no reason why you can't do that," Angelo said, taking me by surprise. I kind of thought he would have had him buried here where he knew it was safe. "We can arrange for a flight there tomorrow?"

Violet nodded.

------------------------------

"Have you ever been to France?" I asked Angelo as he was just about to doze off. We had been on the plane for a couple of hours now. We didn't get to take the jet and had to travel with regular commuters because it was being used for something else, I had a feeling I knew what too.

Much to their disliking, Alessio and Sophia got separated from Angelo and I and had to sit with Naya and Bradley. Violet was somewhere else on the plane.

"I have not," he answered slowly.

"Well, I think you'll like it."

"Possibly."

"We haven't talked much about names," I said, brining up a topic I had wanted to discuss for awhile now. "I was thinking we step away from your Italian roots and go to my French ones this time. Like a tribute to my dad."

It didn't look like he was much of a fan of the idea, but felt compelled to consider it, "It really depends on the name, love."

"My dad told me once that he wanted to name me Cosette but my mom wouldn't let him because she thought it was too ugly."

He cringed, "Yeah and I don't know if I blame her. I can't picture a little Cosette D'Amico. Maybe, and I'm really stressing the maybe part, that could possibly be a middle name."

There was only one other name I was going to push for today and if he absolutely hated it, I didn't know what I was going to do with myself because I always wanted my daughter to have this name, "Noëlle?"

There was silence.

"Hmmm. It's a strong contender."
