《Mesmerizing Mr. Mafia》The Halloween Special

My dad and I sat and waited for Angelo to show up. It wasn't quite noon yet so I wasn't worried about being stood up, but my dad clearly was. I tried to make conversation with him so that this wasn't so awkward, and he was my dad so naturally I wanted to talk to him anyways. He was one of my favorite people, even though I really wasn't sure who he was right now.

"Are you ok?" I reached over the table and placed one of my hands on top of his.

"Honestly, Chloe. No. I'm not. I wish none of this ever happened and you could just go back to being the talented, bright, and funny girl you were a year ago. Sienna too."

I will admit, his words almost made me cry. I kind of wished I could go back to that too, but there was no sense in wishing because wishing never helped.

"Now you're both going to be parents of criminal children before you've even had a chance to live your life."

What?

"Sienna's...pregnant?" I asked.

Dad nodded, "Are those guys brothers, or do I need to improve my eavesdropping skills?" He asked and I swear I almost saw a smile which made me smile.

"They're brothers and I know you won't believe me when I tell you this, but Angelo is actually the better of the two."

"Well, that's not hard. Lorenzo is a real piece of work. At least he's not in the mafia though."

"Welll, ya know. Might as well be," I shrugged just as a shadow was cast over me, blocking a little bit of the light. I looked up and saw Angelo, so I scooted over so that he could join me in the booth.

He did.

"Signore Cruise," Angelo nodded in my dad's direction. "How may I be of assistance? I actually need this to go fast because I've noticed that others are following me, no thanks to you."

"I need Chloe to stay here. Even if its just for a couple days."

"Yeah, no. She's pregnant with my child and the last thing I need right now is for them both to die because you decided to bring another mafia family into this. One wasn't enough for you? Uomo stolto." (Foolish man)

"I don't want them around either! But I had no other choice. No one else was willing to go onto your property and get her!"

Angelo's eyes narrowed, as if he were thinking up some maniacal plan or something, "I can make them go away," he said. "But then you have to stop. Let Chloe live her life the way she wants to. No more kidnapping her, no more interference. If she wants you in her life, you'll be there."

"I told you he's better than Lorenzo," I smiled.

Angelo scoffed, "Everyone's better than Lorenzo. The devil himself is better than Lorenzo."

I shrugged. Wasn't so sure about that one.

"Do we have a deal?"

Dad nodded.

__________

"Bandit!" I screeched while walking into the apartment. I missed my dog, he was kinda like the kid I was gonna have someday soon. "I can't believe I missed you this much," I got down and scratched his ears, his most favorite thing in the world aside from dinner time of course. The dog could eat.

"Oh, he's kind of adorable," Violet said while giving him a few pats on the head.

My whole family came back with us to New York, because Angelo knew the Russians wouldn't back down easily. I don't know why they were so invested all of a sudden and I don't think I ever will. It would be nice to know though.

Sienna and Lorenzo even came back, but they'd be living inside the mafia house instead of the outside family housing facility that I didn't even know about until last week. It was kind of like another mafia house in the sense that it was heavily guarded, but no mafia people actually lived there, only their families did.

Since Lorenzo and Sienna were special cases and were equally as dangerous to themselves as they were to society though, Angelo thought it would be best to keep them around real Mafiosi.

It's been a week since we got back and everyone was settling in nicely, so what better way to celebrate than with a party? A Halloween party to be exact.

Halloween was easily my favorite holiday. It was the perfect excuse to be whoever you wanted to be, no questions asked.

It was hard to find a costume that was cute and fit the bump without it looking super weird, so this Halloween was going to be a little less great than my others. So I just got a black skeleton maternity shirt. It was cute because it showed a baby in the bump region.

Convincing Angelo to let me throw a party was harder than it should have been. After much negotiation though, he caved. One of my requests was that it be held at the mafia house because it was big and capable of being a great party venue. That was denied hard though.

So, the apartment was gonna have to do.

"When does this party start?" Naya (little sister, Bradley's twin) asked while curiously looking around the place. "Who's all coming?"

I wanted my dad to see that the people I've been surrounded by, weren't all that bad. Sure they had their moments, but who didn't? So I invited Eleanor, Smith, Luca, Alessandra, Dom, Lilly, and whoever else they decided to bring.

"Just a few people," I answered Naya's question.

"Are they in the...mafia?" She whispered the last word, as if they could hear us and she thought she would die because of it.

I nodded, and her face fell.

"How are you not scared of them? They kill people, Chloe."

"Well, they won't kill us."

"When's everyone supposed to be here anyway?" Sienna asked.

I wasn't ready to talk to her yet, even if it was just a simple answer. Her and Lorenzo have been terrible to me, and they haven't earned my forgiveness yet. If my dad didn't insist they come, they wouldn't even be here. I was just that angry.

She didn't get an answer. Not from me at least.

She had to wait until the doorbell rang. I got off the ground and quickly went to open the door, just to get away from Sienna for a moment.

I opened the door to see some of my favorite people in Halloween costumes. Dom and Lilly were twinning in Beetlejuice costumes (Dom didn't go all out on the makeup like Lilly did). Alessandra and Luca seemed to have a theme too. She was dressed head to toe in black, with cat ears and cat makeup, and he was in a fuzzy bear onesie with the hood up. It was weird and fit his personality perfectly, I couldn't help but laugh a little.

Now I wondered what the baby in the covered carrier in Lucas's arms was dressed as. I haven't seen the kid yet and it's been a whole freaking month. Actually, this was the first time I've seen Luca and Alessandra in that time.

"Didn't you get the memo?" I looked at Angelo and his lack of a costume. I think it would kill him to have any fun, "Your ticket inside is a costume. Looks like you can't come in," I teased and put my arm up on the door to serve as a barricade. Not like it would stop him anyway.

"I brought you the stupid cupcakes you wanted. I think that's a good enough ticket. And...I don't see you wearing a costume either."

"'Cause I haven't put it on yet," I said as he casually moved my arm and walked past me. "Where are my cupcakes?" I shouted and followed him into the master bedroom.

"On their way up," he kicked the door closed, "I brought a whole bunch of food with me."

"Why?"

"'Cause I could?" It sounded like a question. "I like food, you like food, babies like food, everyone likes food. And it's not a party if there isn't good food."

"So what then? Did you bring McDonalds or something? What do you mean it's on its way up? Did it magically grow a pair of legs? You don't make much sense sometimes."

"Now, why would I carry stuff all the way up here, if I could just have people do it for me? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you ask me. I brought some chefs from the house. Great people."

I made an O shape with my mouth, "Figures," I said before disappearing into the closet. Much like Alessandra and Luca, I had a theme I wanted Angelo to join in on. I could see him wanting no part in it though. I grabbed the tee shirt that I had got for myself and then the one I got for him.

I walked out of the closet and held it out to him, "Pleeeeease."

"What, ya weirdo?"

"Please wear this." I wouldn't be surprised if he said no because the only time I ever saw him wear anything other than his fancy clothes, was when he was going to bed and then there was just a lack of clothes.

He grabbed the shirt out of my hands and held it up to get a better look, "Remember how you whined about being called a gattina because it was degrading? Yeah, this is kind of the same thing," he flipped the shirt around so that the print was facing me now. "I'm very comfortable in what I'm in right now, thank you very much."

I laughed at even the thought of him in that shirt. It was a lot like the one I got, except where the baby would have been on mine, there were beer bottles on his. "Fine. Be boring. I don't care," I crossed my arms over my chest and made a pouty face, showing that I really did care. I cared way too much.

He untucked his black button up shirt and started undoing the buttons whilst walking into the closet. "I'm wearing a jacket with it."

I walked into the closet just as he casually slipped out of his shirt. It took everything I had not to start fan girling right there. Those muscles were too perfect.

His back was too me, so I let the eager fan girl out and did a weird running in place type thing all while silently screaming.

My eye assault came to a sudden end though as he put the black, skeletal t-shirt on and he turned ninety degrees to get to the dresser. He opened the top drawer up and grabbed a black hooded jacket.

Hmm...didn't think he even owned normal people clothes.

He threw that on too and zipped it up halfway so that you could no longer see the part of the shirt that he despised, "Happy now?" He asked.

I nodded, still not quite over what I had just seen. Ooh perfection.

"Your turn," he said whilst ushering to the shirt still hanging from my hand. I had totally forgotten about it.

"Yeah, you're gonna leave right?"

He walked up to me, so that we were side by side, and slowly ran his hand down my side and across ye ole tummy, "It's not like I haven't seen it before," he whispered into my ear before walking away.

A chill ran down my spine, in a good way I guess, and my whole body shuddered. He was right though, he obviously has seen me. Doesn't mean it wasn't awkward as hell though.

I pulled my shirt over my head and quickly replaced it with the other one. I could totally match Angelo right now because I too had a black zip up jacket. I looked around for it and eventually found it where I don't remember leaving it on the bed. I threw it on and zipped it up halfway before leaving the bedroom.

I walked out to find everyone staring at me, and Dom walking over with a chalkboard in his arms. He set it down right in front of me and handed me a piece of chalk. "The women are getting needy again."

I read the board and it said, "Cast your Vote. Guns or Glitter?"

I knew the answer to this now, as of a couple days ago.

I didn't know whether or not I should tell everyone else yet though.

I figured why not, and leaned in to tally the scores.
