《My new stepbrothers the sequel》Lucy's invention

I pulled up outside Lucy's school, Jasper was at home because Bennett had a stomach bug so it was just Stellar and me. I unbuckled her and walked to where the sign was pointing, when I got into the school there were small tables. Liam waved me over, him and Dylan were standing next to a table with a sheet over it. Lucy came running towards me and hugged me.
"2 minutes until my great reveal," She said smiling, I nodded as she ran off towards the lady at the front of the room. Victoria walked in just seconds before it started.
" Charlie couldn't come" She said and we nodded
Lucy came back and hugged Victoria before walking over to the table, she grabbed the sheet lightly " ARE YOU READY" she yelled and I nodded, kinda pointless considering she had her eyes closed for dramatic effect. She then pulled the sheet up very slowly revealing what looked to be a miniature Ferris wheel. She smiled as we stared at the ferris wheel covered with wires.
" watch this" she said and turned on a switch the ferris wheel started moving around in a circle. Stella Ruth claped her hands clearly amused by the ferris wheel.
" Wow that's amazing" I said and she smiled
" Ok so I'm going to explain how it works, first I had a motor and instead of doing what everyone else does I decided to make a ferris wheel so the motor is kinda in the middle with three things attached to it so they build the foundation then I have wires attached to the lose area which then connects together so when the motor is on it moves it around like a fan but slowly with the ferris wheel" Lucy explained Victoria started to clap.

" wow lucy you did this all by yourself?" I asked
" yeah Dad didn't help at all and Daddy tried to help but I wouldn't let him I did this all by myself for 2 weeks" Lucy crossed her arms as more people walked over to her station and she explained it to them
" I was sure I was supposed to help, I kept asking but she just kept saying no nope go away" Dylan said sighing
" I understood she didn't want help" Liam said
" please you were so lazy you didn't ask once" Dylan scoffed and Liam shrugged
" that's great parenting, independence is built through responsibility" Liam said
" nothing your talking about connects to helping" Victoria laughed smirking
"wait didn't that new season to that cooking show you've been following come out two weeks ago?" I asked and Victoria crossed her arms
" Ok no need to bring that up" Liam laughed awkawrdly " besides I watched it with Lucy"
"*cough* while she worked on her project *cough* " Dylan fake coughed before putting his arm around Liam. "I'm joking you cover all the physical stuff like bringing Lucy to Swimming and hockey"
" what about hockey?" Lucy asked turning away from her project " you can look at other projects I won't feel bad"
Liam, Victoria and I strolled off while Dyaln went to talk with the host of the contest. " You know there are only 2 second graders in this contest the rest are older, Lucy and her friend Vicky, you know she really wants to be like Rosy" Liam said
Victoria was holding Stella Ruth showing her a weather project
" that isn't as flattering as it seems" I said rubbing my neck
" No really she is smart for her age she was even put in the gifted class and they are thinking of moving her and Vicky up a grade not as much as you just up to grade three but I'm so proud of her just like I'm pround of you I mean doctor at 16" Liam laughed quietly

I laughed yeah I guess that was a big achievement,I turned my head a little to look at Lucy she was showing people how her invention worked.
" so why are you dad?" I asked and he hung his head low and let out a deep laugh.
" I'm the strict dad Dylan gives her whatever she wants and I tell her when to go to bed and to eat veggies but watch this" Liam said and walked over to Lucy. She did a little salut with her hands and he kissed her forehead.
" I'm also the coolest parent, I got her into science and I'm the boss yeah that's me whoop whoop" Liam said walking back rolling his shoulder and wiggling his eyebrows.
I saluted him and he laughed,
" yeah that's so cool isn't it say Victoria say Victoria" I turned my head towards Victoria she was at a station baby talking Stella Ruth.
" something is wrong with her" I said.
" What?"Dylan asked appearing behind us.
" she keeps scratching behind her ear, she only does that when she has something she needs to talk about or when she has something on her mind" I said and both Liam and Dylan exchanged a look.
" hey Victoria?" I called and she walked over to us bumping Stella Ruth in her arms.
" are you ok?"
She stopped for a second confused by my bluntness but nodded " I didn't want to ruin Lucy's contest..... Charlie and I are getting a divorce"

Duality of a Soul
In the land of magic and demons, knights and forgotten ancient technologies. What would you do if you were to wake up one day amidst all of this without your memories? Will you do everything you can to get them back to be who you were, or leave the past behind and begin anew? Follow along with our main character as he struggles to establish his new identity while the shadows of his past threaten to consume him. To be a detested hero or celebrated villain? Only time will tell. Author’s Note: Heavily influenced by fantasy goodness far and wide, I hope to make it somewhat original with a sense of familiarity to you. The overall story is pieced together through the perspective of the characters presented, first + third person narrative styles because I enjoy reading novels with similar storytelling. Please feel free to provide any comments and constructive criticisms for me because I love to read what you think so I can continue to improve on my imperfections and make the story better. Cheers!
