《My new stepbrothers the sequel》Crushes

Today is Bennett's first day at tots academy, when I dropped him off he was so excited and ran straight in. I'm at the car dealership, strapping in Stella Ruth's car seat into the car I just bought. My phone started vibrating, I clicked Stella Ruth in before answering.
"Hello?" I asked into the phone forgetting to check caller id.
" Hey Rosy, could you do me a big favour?" Charlie's voice came through my phone
" Uh...what?" I questioned getting into the front of the car. Wow, this feels nice, my first car.
" could you... please...I'll owe you I swear" Charlie rambled
" Just tell me," I said quickly checking to make sure Stella Ruth was good.
" could you please pick Maddison up from school?, they said she got in a fight at school I already said you'd be there so she is just waiting on the steps of the school," Charlie said and I sighed
"Sure, what's the school?" I asked and he texted it to me so putting it in the GPS he hung up and I pulled out of the dealership. " Want to go see your cousin?"
I pulled up in front of her school, I could see her sitting on the steps with a teacher standing behind her. I stopped the car and quickly checked Stella Ruth I would only be gone for less than a minute. I walked up to them and the teacher gave me something to sign her out with. Maddison followed me back to the car and jumped in the back with Stella Ruth.
"Hey, Maddy how are you?" I asked and she just huffed ignoring me, I sighed and started driving. Driving into the driveway that had been empty since we moved here. I picked Stella Ruth out of her car seat. Maddy followed me inside but instead of walking off she just stood at the door.

" Do you want something to eat?" I asked and she nodded so I warmed up Chilli from last night and set it in front of her with some cornbread.
" Thanks," she said pulling up her chair, I was feeding Stella Ruth when Maddy cleared her throat
" Why aren't you mad at me?" She asked
" Why would I be?" I asked looking up at her and she frowned
"Because I punched someone," She said matter of factly
"Why?" I asked and she jerked her eyebrows up
" Because she was trying to talk to them" She muttered
" Who are them?"
" She was trying to talk to my crush" She basically screamed
" Oh so it's about boys" I raised an eyebrow
" yeah,... my best friend Tristan" She mumbled " I... it is just I didn't know I like liked him but then whenever he around other girls I get so jealous...then I punched Cammie when she was talking to him and she blew him a kiss"
I nodded, spooning more food into Stella Ruth's mouth.
"And now he is going to be weirded out and hate me and he isn't going to want to be friends anymore" She cried tears spilling from her eyes.
"No, I'm sure he still wants to be your friend and a friend is supposed to be with you forever no matter what so if he stops being your friend he wasn't worth it," I said and she nodded,
"Mum and Dad are going to be mad, not calm...like you," She said and I laughed a little
" I have no idea what I'm doing half the time"I shrugged and she walked over to me and hugged me. " go wash your face then finish your lunch ok"

Maddy nodded and I pointed out the bathroom, I turned to Stella Ruth "Don't have a crush ok" I said and she stared at me and made a gurgling noise. " yeah right first you need to be able to stand"
Maddy came back and finished up her chilli, for the rest of the day. I helped her with some homework and watched some tv together, even made ice cream sundaes because I wanted on.
"could you pick up Stella Ruth?" I asked as we got ready to go pick up Bennett and drop her off. Bennett didn't want to leave preschool saying he was having too much fun but I pried him off my leg once he saw my new car he ran towards it forgetting all about preschool. Maddy clicked him into his car seat and we were off towards her house.
"Oh my gosh" I heard her mumble as we pulled up to her house, she threw the door open and ran towards her door. A boy was standing there playing on his phone. He looked up and laughed I couldn't hear what they were saying but then he fist-bumped her. She ran towards the car and I lowered my window.
" That's Tristan he said it was hilarious and fist-bumped me ahhhhhhhh" She whisper yelled
" are you going to tell him?" I asked and she shook her head
"I don't think so.." she started but the front door opened and Charlie marched out. He stopped and waved to Tristan before making his way over to us.
"Thanks, Rosy I really owe you come on Maddison you are grounded," Charlie said and Maddy waved to me before walking towards Tristan.
" Yes you do, see you later," I said pulling out "who wants chicken nuggets?"
"MEEEE" Bennett yelled

Adventurer Book II - Dawn of an Empire Short story prequel- The Lurking Lair: An Adventuer Series Short Story Summary for the LitRPG savvy reader: Looking for a LitRPG that is more tabletop traditional role playing game and less MMORPG? This is probably your cup of tea. Long term progression with a heavy slice of life element. Strong mix and inclusion of ancient Greek life, values, and myths. Hence, the world can be a bit more harsh and brutish than modern sensibilities. The system is tangible and knowable beyond the MC's insights. The MC is more of an everyman than someone specifically chosen for the experience. Author's Note: This is my debut novel. Up until this point, the only thing I have written of comparable length has been non-fiction and related to history. I am immensely grateful to all the folks who have given me feedback and helped me improve my writing.
