Mia's P.O.V

After one year:

"C'mon Zayn you have to eat. Mom needs to go to Uncle Gabriel's party." I said to Zayn.

Zayn is already one year old and a few. He's such a sweetheart. He doesn't annoy me or even cries at night. We go to sleep together and we wake up together. He plays with his toys while I clean the house.

"Baby you have to eat some food. Food is good." I told Zayn.

"Mm" I pretended to eat his food.

Suddenly the spoon was snatched from my hand making the food fall on me.

"Oh god Zayn" I pretended to be angry at him but that little monster was laughing at me. Yes laughing. I did not know that children of his age could be such a monster. I put Zayn on the floor so that I could go get a wipe to clean the mess. When I came back Zayn was standing on the table playing with the remote control.

"Oh my god, Zayn, get down now." I said sternly.

But Mr. Zayn did not pay me attention and turn on the TV.

What I saw on the TV made me stay still.

After one year it is now that I saw him. Tears were threatening to fall. He was still the same as I last saw him. Jacob was looking at the reporter, listening to what he was saying.

"Thank you. It was nice talking to you. We wish you good luck for your new company." the reporter said.

"It was a pleasure." Jacob replied.

On hearing his voice I burst out crying. I sat on the sofa. I felt a small hand on my knee. It was Zayn. Even if he could not talk I know that he is comforting me. I took him in my arms and hugged him very tightly.

He gave me the remote and I turn off the TV. I did not want to tell Zayn about Jacob...now. He wouldn't understand anything.

The doorbell rang and I got up to answer it.

"Hi. Come in." It was Zayn's babysitter, Martha. She is a nice lady. She is probably in her fifties.

"Hi. Aren't you getting late for the party?" She asked.

"Crap. Yeah I need to go. I've got one hour to get ready." I replied quickly before giving her Zayn.

I quickly showered and put my make-up. I grabbed my blue dress from my closet. It was a mid-thigh dress with long sleeves. I put silver hoops along with a heart necklace. I grabbed my silver heels before making my way downstairs.

"Martha I'm going. I'll be back before ten. Bye." I said to Martha and gave Zayn a kiss before heading out.

Gabriel was throwing a party for the new partnership between a company name Edwards Enterprises and him. He always jokes saying that he accepted this partnership because Zayn's second name is Edward. But I know it's because that company is famous and its owner Mr. Grey is a very good man.

After 20 minutes of driving I finally arrived at my destination. I did my touch-up before getting out of the car. Guests were already arriving. It seems like I'm late.

I searched for Jordan when I entered. She was near the bar talking to someone.

I approached her and said:

"Hey Jordan"

"Oh hey Mia, you are looking so good." She said to me.

"Excuse me." She said to the other woman she was talking to.

"Thank you. You are looking good too. I'm sure Gabriel will have problems controlling himself tonight." I said wiggling my eyebrows.

"Shut up." She said blushing.

"Where's Gabriel?" I asked.

"There he is talking to Mr. Grey." She took my hand and dragged me across the room.

"Hi Gabriel, hello Mr. Grey" I said to them.

Gabriel kissed me on both cheeks and put his arm around Jordan. Mr. Grey shook my hand.

"What were you saying Mr. Grey?" Gabriel asked. Maybe it was about the new business.

"As I was saying I'm not the real owner of the company. I'm just the manager. The owner is someone else and he will come to the party." He said.

Jordan and I were shocked. We could not say anything.

"What. What's his name? Gabriel asked making us blink.

"His name is... Oh here he comes." Mr. Grey said.

He was pointing to someone behind us. We all turned and our jaw was on the floor.

It was him... Jacob.

Before he saw me I told Jordan that I'm leaving and she just nodded her head.

I caught Jacob's eyes just before I came out of the room. I felt a strange sensation. All my feelings for him were resurfacing and I could not bear it.

A tear fell out of my eye and before someone sees me crying I left.
