Mia's P.O.V
'OMG what is happening to me?' I thought.
This morning I woke up and instantly went in the bathroom to vomit. I think its food poisoning. I thought. For about thirty minutes I stayed in the bathroom as I was weak. I did not have the energy to get up.
After that I tried to get up to answer my phone which was ringing for the last ten minutes annoying the hell out of me.
"Hello." I said without looking at the I.D.
"What happened to your voice?"
I know that voice. It's... Jacob. One problem was not enough that I had to hear his voice.
"I don't know. I think I'm sick." I said to him.
"Keep the door open. I'll reach in half an hour." Jacob said and hung up before I could protest.
I did not want to see him... okay I do but not when I'm like this... a wreck.
Right on time I hear the front door open.
"Mia?"
"I'm in the living room." I said.
"Here I brought you some soup." He said.
"Thank you." I said not knowing what to say more.
Thankfully Jacob went in the kitchen and put the soup in a bowl and brought it back.
"Thanks."
"No problem. It's my pleasure."
Within five minutes Jacob was bringing more soup for me.
"Hey eat slowly." Jacob said clearly amused.
"Hey it’s the only food that is staying for such a long time in my stomach. And I love it." I said playfully.
"Thank you." Jacob said.
I lift one of my eyebrows and asked "why?"
"Because you just said that you love the soup and as I am the one who cooked it I said 'thank you' as a way of being polite.

"What, you cooked that?" I asked.
"That's what I just said." He told me mockingly.
Just as I thought I was fine I started feeling nauseous. I ran to the bathroom just in time. While I was throwing up Jacob was holding my hair back and rubbing my back. It was so soothing.
After I cleaned up I went to the living room where Jacob was watching TV.
I sat next to him.
Suddenly he turned and said:
"You are not coming to work till the time you get well. That is until your vomit do not stop and it's an order you cannot refuse. He said smirking.
"Ok." I replied knowing that it's useless to argue with him.
"Good. I'll see you tomorrow... with the soup." He said.
"What you will come tomorrow too?” I asked.
"Uh yeah I will." He replied while rubbing his neck.
He kissed me on the forehead and left me with my jaw on the floor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three days passed and Jacob kept his promise. He came everyday and brought his famous soup for me. I did not feel that nauseous since then. On the fourth day I went to work as I was fine.
I was cleaning my office when my door bursts open.
"Jordan. What happened?" She was crying.
"Mia you ...." She said crying.
I could not understand anything that she was saying.
"What?" I asked.
"Everything will be fine Mia. Don't worry we all are with you." She said.
"But what happened?” I asked her once again irritated by her behaviour.
"Mia your grandmother is dead." She said.
I was speechless. I fell on my chair. I could not even cry.
"Come on let's go. We have a three hour drive to do. I've already informed Jacob and Gabriel. They will reach there directly." She said.

I followed her. When we reach there, there were already a lot of people. There were neighbours and some police officers. I approached them. A woman was talking to the police. I recognised her. She always took care of my grandma whenever she was sick.
"I'm her grand-daughter. Can you tell me what happened?" I asked the police officer.
"Yeah, this woman here is saying that this morning when she knocked on the door no one answered and she looked inside through one of the window whose curtain was on the side and saw your grandmother on the floor. She made his son break the window and opened the door and called us. We found some documents of her. Some medical reports, we called her doctor and she said that she died due to brain tumour and she prevented her from saying anything to other people. We also found a letter for a certain Mia." He said.
At the end my tears did not fall. My grandmother had brain tumour. How's this possible. I came here and she did not say anything. She was so lively. She did not appear sick not even a bit.
"I'm Mia." I said after taking deep breaths.
He gave me the letter and I opened it:
Dear Mia,
I'm sorry for not telling you that I have brain tumour. I know that you hate me but I did this for your own good. Please believe me I wanted to tell you but you already had problems. I found out about this a few weeks before you came. I'm sorry I did not tell you. Don't hate me. Anyway I already took care of all the legal formalities and as you're my grand-daughter legally everything is yours. Please forgive me.
Your grandma
I did not even cry after all this. Am I so heartless that I cannot even cry? I'm such an awful grand-daughter. I was only thinking about me not about her.
Jacob, Jordan and Gabriel attended the funeral. I was glad to have my friends with me. Even when the body was buried my tears would not fall. A day after the funeral I was sitting in my grandmother's room looking at her photo. The door opened and Jacob entered. He sat next to me and put his hand on my shoulder pulling me close to him.
Suddenly I started crying. Jacob held me close and let me cried. He whispered things into my ears which calmed me.
"Why did she go away? I love her. I have no one else in this world. She's all I've got. Why?" I whispered to him.
"Remove everything Mia." He said rubbing my back.
I cried and cried. I even fell asleep on him. I woke up next to Jacob. His left hand was on my waist and the other was serving him as a pillow and his chest was my pillow. Jordan and Gabriel had already gone home yesterday night.
I felt light that morning. Jacob woke up. We did not say anything about last night. Jacob also left afterwards due to an important meeting that he had in four hours. He did not force me to come back to work but instead told me to take my time. I did not worry about how many days I take because I never take holidays and now that they are accumulated, I have a lot.
'Please god helps me overcome this death please' I thought.
