I suddenly heard a loud noise and I panicked and fell on my butt.

‘Ow’ I muttered. I looked at my surrounding and I was surprised that I actually slept on the couch something that I never did before because I’m uncomfortable.

I looked at the clock and saw that it was nearly nine. OMG I'm going to be late for work! I said and getting off the floor at the same time.

I quickly took a bath and got dressed. I did not even have time to have breakfast. I quickly grab my things and got in the car and sped to the office. I entered the office at 10:15! I just hope none of the bosses have come yet.

Fingers crossed.

Gabriel won't tell me anything, he'll understand but that jerk Jacob will find a reason to taunt me. I don't trust him!

“Hi Mia.” Jordan greeted.

“Hi. How are you?”

“Uh Mia I've something to tell you.” Jordan said on the verge of crying. I put my hand on her shoulder and asked her what the matter was?

“Let’s go have lunch later then I'll tell you. Okay?”

“Yeah see you later.”

I was now worried for her. I wonder what's wrong with her. I just hope everything is fine! Just then I bumped into someone and some files fell on the floor. I bend to pick them and when I was going to give them back to its owner, I was stunned!

It was Jacob! I open my mouth to say something but nothing came out.

“You like bumping with me!” He said while smirking.

“What?”

“I said you like bumping with me!” he repeated.

“I know! I heard! What do you mean by this? I do not do them on purpose.”

“Oh really?”

“Why I'm arguing with you! Move let me go!”

“No wait!”

“Now what?”

“You're late!”

“So you are not my boss. It's Gabriel. And if Gabriel asks me then I'll tell him. I don't care if you have 90% ownership of the company!”

“Yeah go in Gabriel's cabin. Maybe he's got something to tell you.”

“What do you mean that Gabriel has something to tell me?”

“Just go and see him. You'll see.”

“Right!” I said before pushing him away. I don't care if he is my boss. If he wants to fire me for all of this I don't care. Then an idea struck my mind! This could actually work. I'll make sure that he fires me from this job. I just have to make him angry at me. But for all this I would need the help of Gabriel.

Jacob Max now you won't have any choice than to fire me! Just wait and watch!

When I reached Gabriel’s office I just opened the door and went in.

“Uh Gabriel...”

“Yes.”

“Everything is okay?” I asked unsure.

“Yes. Sit down I've got something to tell you.”

“Mia from now on I'm not your boss.”

“What?” I shouted.

“I mean J wants me to go and work in his other office.”

I asked him why.

“I don't know! He said something about problems in management. I'm not sure. I'll find out when I get there.” He replied.

“But he also can go. I mean he is more familiar to that place than here. We all know you here not Jacob.”

“I'm sorry. I cannot do anything now. When J told me this I've tried to explain to him and change his mind. But he is not willing.”

“Wait! I will talk to him.”

“No Mia...” Gabriel shouted as I opened the door to go.

I did not bother to knock and just opened the door.

“What the?” I heard Jacob saying.

I ignored him and continue to make my way to his desk.

“Can I know the reason for you to barge in here like this?”

“Why are you sending Gabriel away? What's your problem?”

He took a step towards me. I did not back out. I stayed still. Our noses were touching. As he spoke I felt his breath on my face. Butterflies were flying in my stomach. OMG what's happening to me? I'm behaving like a high school girl!

“First I don't have any problem with him. And I don't need to give you any explanation.”

My mouth formed an ‘O’ shape. I was going to say something when the door opened and a panting Gabriel came in.

“I'm sorry. It's my entire fault.” Gabriel started to explain but I cut him off when an idea struck my mind.

“Gabriel I'm your secretary right?”

Gabriel did not understand anything but he answered my question anyway.

“Uh yes.” Gabriel replied not knowing where I was taking this conversation.

I smirked and turned to Jacob who was confused.

“So being the secretary of Gabriel that's mean I have to go with him to help him.” I smirked at the end.

Gabriel jumped with joy while Jacob was frowning.

‘Well done Mia!’ I thought.

Gabriel was now hugging me and I hug him back.

Then Jacob shouted no. We turned to him waiting for an explanation. He continued.

“I mean I'll need Mia here to explain the details to me and same goes to you Gabriel. My secretary will help you there.”

I continued to glare at him. I knew he will do something for me to stay here. He hates me and I hate him. He must be glad that I'm going to be away from him.

“Yeah J's right. You've got to stay here and help him out.” Gabriel said and I turned to him. He looked hurt.

“But...” Gabriel did not let me finish my phrase and grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a hug. I hug him back. Then he backed out and said we said our goodbye.

“Promise me you will stay in touch.”

“Okay. Bye.”

“Bye.”

I ignored Jacob and went back to my cabin. I always thought of Gabriel as a friend but now it hurts to see him leaving. I did my touch-up and made myself presentable for the lunch with Jordan. I just hope she has something good to tell me.

Finally it was already lunch break! I came out of my cabin without bothering to inform Jacob about this.

“You ready?”

“Yeah just give me a minute to turn off the computer.” I waited for her to finish.

“Let's go.”

We went to an Italian restaurant. We both sat down and looked at the menu. After some minutes a waiter came and took our order. I ordered Lasagne with a coke and Jordan ordered spaghetti bolognaise along with a coke.

“You wanted to tell me something?”

She started to say something but then her tears started falling from her eyes.

I went closer to her and asked if everything was okay!

“Mia my boyfriend cheated on me.”

“What?”

“I went to his apartment the day after the party to surprise him and instead I got surprised. The maid had opened the door and I went directly in his room. I found him on bed with another girl which was a friend of mine. When I said his name he woke up and I asked him for an explanation then he told me that he never loved me and he was hanging out with me because he wanted to make that girl jealous. I don't know what to do now! I mean I love him! And I can't live without him.”

I didn't know what to say. I was never good in comforting people. I put my hand on her shoulders and made her look in my eyes.

“Jordan I'm sorry but I don't think that guy is the right one for you. If before marriage he's like this then you can imagine after marriage. What is the guarantee of him not cheating on you? You are a smart girl and you have a good job. You can live your life and don't ever do things that will cost you your life. Understood?”

“Yes thanks Mia. I'm feeling better now. Thank you. But I never knew that you can talk like this.” She said while smiling.

“I don't know what overcome me.” I replied back.

Then we laughed. We ate our lunch and then we head back to the office.
