the silent love —

unspoken but present

seen in the littlest of gestures

and the longing stares

the love that needs not to be said

but you can feel it

it's there, just as it always has been

the burning love —

that swallows your body whole,

that ignites your soul into flames

into fiery passion

and consumes all the spaces in your mind.

it may hurt sometimes

but god, you'd do anything to keep it alive

but above all,

don't you just wish you could have

the simple love —

fingers intertwined unwilling to let go

wordless embraces

gentle kisses

days of serenity and nights of comfort

and you think to yourself

how wonderful is this?

how wonderful are we

that the universe has blessed us

with the love that we've always wanted,

needed, maybe deserved

but never asked for

"It's taken us quite a long time to get here, huh?"

"That's okay. We're home now."
