Alizeh touched the blank screen of her phone with a scowl set on her face. No incoming messages or calls. Tossing it close to her she huffed and turned to the other side of the bed.
Empty.
It's been two days this room was silent as the proud owner of the left side of the bed was out of country on a business trip. She was not happy with him going. Especially when she couldn't accompany him. He wanted her too but the deal didn't require the presence of the head designer of the company so there was no point of going. Also after their super extended honeymoon it was his duty to give time to his business as well.
But what to do with stupid heart of hers? She had become accustomed to his presence in her life. It was always there. Even he was physically present or not. But sometimes feeling him through his things was too much of a toll. She needed him here. Right now with her.
It had been almost two month to their wedding now. Things were as they supposed to be. Smooth with a twist of their own. They both were so much in love but that didn't stop the occasional bickering which always left them in splits at the end. They both would start on something and then would laugh it off as well.
This was the progress they had made in their relation. It was easy going not a bumpy ride like before. They knew and understood each other better now. Also the separation of five years had also worked its magic. They knew what it was to live without each other and how impossible it was for them now. This also put this marriage on a right track.
She yawned at looked at the clock. It was five minutes to twelve. Which means their two month anniversary was just around the corner. She chuckled to herself. She was the one who came up with it in first place. When their marriage completed its first month they were in Switzerland. And being the loving wife she is, she arranged a romantic dinner for him in their room. He was over the moon. She'd made everything of his choice and he relished it. It was her gift to him and now it was his turn.

Too bad he was not here.
She made a face and got up from her side of the bed. Her long hair were tied in a messy bun with her spectacles resting on her eyes. She was clad in a plain white shirt with white trousers. There was no need of getting ready. He wasn't going to make it anyway.
She looked at the clear sky. The night was calm making relax but still the longing of having him close was still the same.
"Damn it, I miss you, Mr. CEO. Come back you mad workaholic!"
She pouted when she felt someone's presence behind her. With a thudding heart she spun around only to be backed against the wall and being kissed by those very familiar lips.
That very familiar touch.
She chuckled into the kiss and gave in the next second. The kiss was it has always been. Full of passion and everything they felt for each other. Pulling apart she looked up when he winked at her.
"Your wish my command."
Having no other option she just laughed at this. He had come. He remembered.
"You were supposed to be back tomorrow morning."
"I was but then I got reminded of what's the date tomorrow. Had to come back today itself."
She immediately extended her palm in front of him.
"My gift?"
He smirked and turned around. His hands were opening the buttons of his coat while she stood close.
"I came back on time. I'm the gift."
"You are not really funny you know that."
"But seriously, Alizeh. I'm your gift. Think of the possibilities. If I were you well..."
His eyes racked up her form making her cheeks flushed.
"I would have never dodged the opportunity."
She didn't know whether to laugh or hide under the covers at what he was enunciating.

"Stop covering up with these talks. You didn't bring any gift for me. Forgot may be. What can I say. Advancing age and its effects."
He raised an eye brow while she stifled her laugh.
"That's not what were you saying the last night I was here."
At this she couldn't stop her laughter anymore. Trust this man and his ability to make her shy away and laugh both at the same time. This is what's so special. This bickering. This light teasing.
"Come here."
He held her wrist and made her sit on the bed while kneeling down in front of her. His hands searched his coat pockets and fished out a small velvet box.
"You did bring me something!"
"Hold on for a sec."
He said opening the box. Her eyes found the delicate looking bracelet with admiration written on her face.
"It's beautiful."
"Isn't it? I brought it during Daim and Nemrah's wedding. That time I had no reasons to give you this. So I waited. But after our marriage were so busy with everything that I never got a chance to sit down and put this on you. But now we have time, occasion and everything. So may I?"
She smiled lightly when he placed it on her wrist and fastened it as well.
It always amazed her. How he had a belief in them when she was adamant they were over. He bought this piece when there was so much tension between them but he had a faith. A belief that they were going to be okay. They were going to be together. Forever.
"Happy two month wedding anniversary, wife. Damn! It's mouthful!"
"But it's cute. And thank you. I love this one!"
He leaned in looking deep in her eyes.
"And where's my gift?"
"Your gift?"
She looked on confused when he started playing with a lock of hair. She came a bit close making him smile when she pushed him aside and got up with a teasing smile.
"You'll get on our third month anniversary, dear husband. Always remember the rules!"
"And who the hell made the rules? Why I wasn't aware? Wait! Alizeh!"
But she was already out of the room making her way towards the kitchen. He shook his head with a smile and sat down where she previously sat.
Where would she go? After all she was going to come here only.
She always did.

A loving spouse. A healer. How does this person cope with evil villains willing to destroy everything? They convicted the victim... now how does the victim goes on with life as a healer? As the book opens, I was in a psychiatric hospital following a suicide attempt in December 2019. What starts as a simple conversation with another patient changed my life. Most of the rest of the book tells the reader how I got to this point. I experienced profound injustice between 2004 and 2006. By opening with a story about suicide, I want the reader to understand that the injustice was not just something that happened long ago. This book is an account of all the accomplishments and successes that I had in overcoming tremendous odds and challenges. Growing up, I was paralyzed by shyness and lacked social skills, and so the idea of becoming a psychotherapist never occurred to me when I went off to college. I learned that I could overcome those limitations. I wanted to bring that hope and healing to others. Activities like that make life meaningful and bring me joy. The reasons why I was suicidal in 2019 were set in motion in 2000 when a meteor would come crashing down upon the life that I had built leaving me powerless to do anything other than watching everything burn to ashes - the home that I had, the life I had known, the love I had, my career, everything would disappear almost as if it never existed. In that one the year 2000, I could not imagine things could get any worse. But the nightmare would continue for the next few years... culminating in a suicide attempt in 2019. Now, I am connecting with others, building relationships, and finding a reason to live again. I am writing my own story of my life. I will fight against the injustice of the past and offer my gifts to the world. I have so much to offer. I have quite a story to tell. I hope you will help me to move on with my life.
