《Kindred Spirits》Chapter 22

"Why didn't you tell us, you bloody assholes" Rebekah screams, throwing a vase at Klaus and the surprised guest, who ducks to avoid getting hurt.
"Because she didn't want no one knowing. If too many people knew, it wouldn't have felt real and that's what she wanted. She wanted Zola Saltzman dead" Klaus explains through gritted teeth, pulling a piece of glass out of his shoulder.
"Not even Elijah, who if you forgot, is her other mate as well" Kol exclaims, ready to throw something at them as well.
"No he didn't, and she very much didn't either. But she needed that to feel real. She needed Elijah to act that way. Stefan and Damon knew Klaus wouldn't show emotion in front of them but you three" She pauses, sighing out of frustration "You three needed to show the most raw emotion. Grief. Which thank the gods, they felt"
"Well now Klaus and you get to tell us everything, and don't you dare leave out anything Forbes" Rebekah sneered, sitting down onto the couch with Kol, facing the two culprits who has guilt written on their face.
"Okay, so it was the morning of the dance" Caroline started
Klaus opened the front door in aggravation.
"You have five seconds to tell me what you are doing here before I rip your heart out for coming here so early in the bloody morni-"
"They're planning to kill Zola tonight" Caroline interrupts him from threatening her even more.
"What did you just say?"
Klaus turned around to see Zola standing behind him, looking at Caroline in shocked.
"I'm sorry Zola but it's true. They are planning to kill you tonight at the dance"
Zola flinches in shocked and Klaus turns his head and glares at the dead Forbes. He yanks her into the house, closing the front door.
"You are going to explain everything to us understood and if you are here for anything I deemed wrong, that threat still stands" Klaus promises, pulling her towards Zola's new spell room.
The ancestors who stood around talking with Emily, froze at the sight of the Forbes woman entering the room with an angered hybrid and their queen in her thoughts, not coming out until she hears Caroline fall to the floor, crying out in pain and holding her head.
"Stop"
The spell stops, letting Caroline to catch her breath.
"Everyone leave beside Emily" Zola demands
They nodded, disappearing from the room.
Emily, who looks confused, stands next to Zola. "Why is she here"
Zola turns, nodding towards Caroline "She said that the Scooby Gang is planning to kill me tonight at the dance"
"The Scooby Gang? Which means she was included into the planning" Emily states, stepping forwards to end the girl but she is stopped by Caroline kneeling down with her hands out in a pleading stance.
"Please, don't kill me. Do you really think I would risk my life if I knew what they are planning to do is wrong?" Caroline cries out. She knew the new and improve Zola was intense but with Emily by her side, she feels like she is ready to rip her own heart out and deliver it to Zola on the nicest silver platter she can find.
It also doesn't help with the angered hybrid practically breathing down her neck, ready to stick his fangs into her.

"Well why are you here telling this to us? I'm sure your little boyfriend doesn't know because he would be right here, practically glue to your ass" Zola questions.
"No one knows I am here" Caroline mutters in regret "They don't know I am here betraying them so please listen me out"
Zola locked eyes with Klaus, trying to see what he thought about it. He sighs, and nods. Letting go of the Forbes arm, he moves to stand next to his mate. He gestures to in front of them "You have the stage, better not waste our time"
Caroline nods, gulping at their intense stares "Well after M-Matt's death, Elena called us to the Salvatore, saying 'She found something'. I went there to see Bonnie doing some sort of enchantment on a knife"
Emily tenses up, not liking the words that just came out the Forbe's mouth "Do you remember the spell that she was doing?"
Caroline shakes her head "No but I could tell it was a really dark one with the aura she was giving off" Emily nodded her head, letting her continue her story "Anyways, when I got there, she was finishing up on the spell and when she did, Elena and Bonnie said that they found the spell in Ms. Shelia's old grimore. Said that it should be able to kill just about anyone who isn't dead already"
"So it wouldn't work on my sibling and I?' Klaus asked
"I guess not since to become a vampire you have to die" Emily answered
"Elena and Bonnie then started to talk about how they are planning to kill you during the dance and I knew it was wrong. I mean even your father had agreed to it..." Caroline trailed off, regretting how she said that when she looked how distraught Zola looked.
"Wow okay then" Zola said in shock "My father is actually going through with killing me"
"Love, I won't let him touch you. I won't let any of them touch you, that's a promise" Klaus trying to reassure his mate, pulling her into his arms.
"Okay so what is the exact plan?" Emily asked, pulling out grimores from the bookshelf.
"Umm I-i don't k-know" Caroline stammers "I had left not too long after they stated what they were doing and when. Other than that, I don't know anything else"
Emily grunts out of frustration, closing the books. But then she straightens up, and looks towards the corner behind Zola and Klaus.
"What are you doing here?" Emily disappears and reappears behind Zola and Klaus, ready to protect her queen from danger.
Everyone else turn around to see Shelia, walking out of the shadows, looking straight at Zola.
She kneels down and whispers "My queen"
Zola pull away from Klaus and walking in front of Shelia "Get up please, I won't punish you for your granddaughters troubles, which I really should do"
Shelia smiles, grabbing Zola's hand "I knew you would fit right into this"
"Of course you knew" Zola states, shaking her head.
"What are you doing here?" Emily demands, pulling Zola from her grasps.
"I wanted to give you a spell. Someone gave it to me just for Zola" Shelia hands Emily the spell, knowing she will recognize it.

Emily scoffs out of shocked "Why do you even have this spell?"
Shelia smirks, shrugging.
Zola gentle takes the spell from her hands, looking it over " A transformation spell?"
"Not just any transformation spell" Shelia states, glancing over to Klaus who is glancing at the spell over Zola's shoulder "It's the spell that transformed the Mikaelson family into who they are"
Zola furrows her eyebrows, not understanding how she has the spell.
Klaus chuckles, smirking at Shelia "Esther gave this to you, willingly?"
"Shocking I know, but not long after that night she tried killing you and your siblings, she died from the lack of power holding her here. She has been hiding in the shadows watching you guys, and her words 'She makes them happy which they haven't had awhile. It was my fault they are like this, so the least I can do is make sure at least they are happy' So she gave me the spell for you, Zola" Shelia explained, disappearing into the air but not before saying one last thing "Let me deal with my granddaughter. I'll set her straight"
"Umm am I the only one confused about this whole thing?" Caroline states, standing next to Emily in shocked.
Zola looks at Caroline, then to Emily who nods. Both on the same wavelength of thinking.
"I have a plan"
"So this brings us to the dance" Caroline finishes sharing, letting Klaus take over, who nods.
"We knew the little Bennett witch would do something to make Zola lessen in power, but we didn't know exactly what. So with that knowledge, we made a plan, making sure that after Zola did the little chambre de chasse trick that Kol taught Zola to Bonnie, she would die somehow" Klaus stated sadly still upset with what happened earlier tonight. "When Zola was able to break the spell Bonnie placed on her, Emily and her friendly neighborhood spirits started the spell. She was able to feel it and knew no one could interrupted her, so she trapped us in the boundary spell"
Klaus finished explaining, letting the silence steady in the air. Letting Rebekah and Kol take in the news. Letting his grieving brother who is upstairs holding their temporary dead mate, taking in the news bomb they let out.
Elijah smiled gently, staring down in his lap at his mate "You have a lot of explaining to do but know, when you wake up you best believe this won't go unpunished"
He caresses her cheek, staring at her in relief. He pulls her closer to him, not wanting her to leave his hold anytime soon.
"So the spell worked right? She is transitioning into what?" Rebekah question, worried and confused about what is happening to her best friend upstairs.
"The spell did work" Emily said weakly, appearing from the shadows "She is transitioning"
Kol squinted his eyes at the ghost, seeing her form is deteriorating "You are dying"
Everyone in the room looked at her shocked, while she smiled sadly.
"Well yes we are. The spell had to be altered differently" Emily muttered, walking over to the fireplace where she had spent plenty time with her leader, talking about many things. She will always cherish those times.
Even though there was a time when Zola had to be their queen, she treated them equally at the same time. Never letting the power go to her head. She didn't rule them but rather guided them.
"What do you mean altered differently?" Klaus asked, wondering what they did. Altering the spell wasn't apart of the plan.
"Doing the spell would've turned Zola into a vampire which means she would lose her magic. I couldn't have that happening. Do you know what would happen to all the witches around the world when their queen suddenly loses her magic?" Emily scoffs shaking her head, not even wanting to think about the end of all witches "Our magic thrives from her, and it's our choose if we decide to give some back which most do. So if she lose her magic, we would eventually lose ours"
Emily paused, coughing slightly "We needed her alive, thriving with magic. So we alter the spell so that when she died, and turned into a vampire, she wouldn't lose her magic. She would be the ultimate supernatural creature. The blood thirst, strength, and immortality of a vampire. The power of a witch. The ultimate hybrid" She exclaimed with a smirk.
"Sorry Klaus, but she is even more powerful than you. Matter of fact, she is more powerful than every single person in this world. But the good thing about this power running through her now. She not only the leader of the witches anymore. She is the leader of every single supernatural creature out there" Emily explained, tears running down her face.
Don't misinterpret her tears. These are happy tears for someone she considered her friend to live a long powerful life, and she would make this sacrifice any day for her all over again.
"So the spell took the power from you and the ancestors" Kol repeated, trying to understand why the Bennett witch in front of him is getting weaker and weaker by the second.
Emily nods, turning around to the people who is has gotten the chance to know.
"Me and a few chosen witches sacrifice our magic. The thing that was keeping us on the other side to Zola for this spell and we don't regret a thing. We will still be with her because that's our magic running through her, but we just won't be on the other side anymore"
"You'll be able to find peace?" Caroline asked, feeling herself getting emotional with what's happening right in front of her.
"Hopefully, but now that we have that out of the way, I need to tell you the finishing things that are required for the spell to be completed. After I disappear, I will be dead for good. After that, Zola will wake up not too long after, she needs to drink the blood of the doppelganger." Emily nods towards Klaus "I don't think that will be too hard for you to get"
Klaus shakes his head, already planning something spectacular for his mate.
Emily nods, ready to pass away now.
"Take care of her please. And it will do you good to always remember that you Mikaelson are the worlds most protected vampires" Emily states, smiling to the ceiling with a peaceful aura wrapped around her "I'm ready now"
And with that, Emily Bennett passed on and is now living in peace.
