《Kindred Spirits》Chapter 14

Saying Elijah and Klaus are mad, is an understatement. After hearing nothing around the house but their talking of plans, they called out for Zola.
Hearing nothing, not even a heartbeat, they went searching around the house for her. Klaus checks the front for anything, but sees nothing at first, until he passes a dent on the pillar.
"Elijah!"
Elijah vamp-speed towards his brother, who was pointing towards the dent and drops of blood on the floor.
"That smells alot like Zola's blood. What happened Niklaus?"
"I don't know Elijah. If I bloody knew, WE WOULDN'T BE HERE" Klaus seeths, hitting the pillar out of anger.
"Don't brother. We can't lose our heads when we need to find Zola"
And this began the endless search for Zola Fay Saltzman
----------------------------
Waking up with the worst pain ever wasn't something Zola likes.
Groaning, she looks around and realizes she is in a moving car.
"You're up. I had thought I had hit you too hard in the head." Stefan said from the driver seat in the car. Zola looks up to see Elena in the car as well.
"Are you okay Zola?" Elena muttered, looking in the back.
"Yeah. It's just my head"
"So, what's the plan, Stefan? What's the big move you're making?" Zola states, aggravated while taking the tape off from around her ankles.
"I took Klaus's family to make him suffer. I'm not gonna let him make himself a new one."
"So, what are you gonna do, huh? Kidnap us and lock us somewhere in the middle of nowhere"
"Maybe. Or maybe, I'll turn Elena and just kill you" Stefan snaps back, pressing on the pedal a little harder.
"Stop the car, Stefan! Stop the car." Elena yells but Stefan ignores her, grabbing Zola's phone.
"Zola?! Love, where are you?" Klaus frantically says, and everyone hears him because Stefan had put him on speaker.
"Tell your hybrids to get out of town, Klaus." Stefan says, getting right to the point.
"This isn't a game you want to play Stefan. Give me back Zola and I'll think of not killing your brother" Klaus snaps at him.
Stefan scoffs " If you don't get your hybrid and yourself, along with your brother, out of Mystic Falls, I'm gonna drive your blood source and your precious little Zola off Wickery Bridge."
"Stefan, give us back Zola and we'll gladly leave" Elijah states.
Stefan shakes his head and bites into his wrist and shoves it into Elena's mouth. Driving even faster, Zola starts to hyperventilate.
"I just fed Elena's my blood and well Zola just might die from lack of air before we even get there. No more hybrids if Elena's a vampire right?" Stefan states
"Stop the car Stefan. STOP THE CAR" Elena yells but Stefan ignores her cries. Zola sees them getting closer to the bridge and she suddenly right her mind.
"Tell Nik. Tell him we'll leave" Zola whispers, trying to calm herself down.
"Fine, we're gone. Now stop the bloody car Stefan!"
Stefan, not believing him, gases up the car, not stopping.
"He said it Stefan, now stop the car" Zola yells at him
"Stefan, please stop. Stop!" Elena whimpers out
"Stop the car!!" Elijah yells into the phone and it registers into Stefan's head, and he automatically hits the brakes, hanging up the phone.
Zola gets out as fast as she can, wanting to get as far away from the car as she can. She hears Elena calling after her but she ignores her.

Not aware of her surroundings, she didn't realize the car that had pulled up and the person walking towards her.
"Elskan?" Elijah called out, grabbing her arms and turning her around. "Are you okay?"
Zola looks up and stares at him. Now knowing that she is safe, she breaks down. Crying out everything that she was holding in.
Elijah looked over to Klaus who was standing behind Zola, both of them giving a nod of understanding. Stefan went too far.
-----------------------------------------
Next day, Klaus was finally able to get his siblings but not his mother's coffin. But right now, that isn't his big problem . Zola won't come out of her room and Elijah and Klaus have tried everything but nothing works.
"Did she grab the plate?"
"Yes but it wasn't until after she knew I was walking down the stairs. I think she might've had one of those vision nightmares." Elijah states, sitting in the chair across from Klaus.
"She did have a freaky one the other day, but everything happened fast and she never got to explain it more to me" Klaus sighed, rubbing his face "Our siblings are in that room if you want to start the undaggering process. It might be better if the first face they see is yours. You deal with them and I can try dealing with our mate"
"You don't need to. I'm here" Zola muttered, holding the plate up. "It was that same vision last night but in snippets. Only the important parts"
"Ahhh like your father ripping your heart out," Klaus says, jokingly. Zola slightly glares at him, thinking of throwing the plate at him. Klaus smirks at her, knowing he said it on purpose.
"What does he mean elskan?"
"Umm not important. Do you guys have your siblings?" Zola asks, changing the subject. Klaus laughs, seeing what she just did. "Yes but don't change the subject, love. Apparently, in her little vision, her poor dear father ripped her heart out after killing us. How is that for a vision, right Elijah?"
"Nik!" Zola exclaims
"Sorry not sorry, love"
Zola glared at Klaus, and throws the plate at him
"Hey watch it, love. I just finished renovations"
Klaus had jumped up from his seat, barely missing the plate from hitting him in the head.
"Elskan, stop please. The witch I had met with told me that it will be hard at first but eventually it's supposed to get easier. But don't worry, we can help you. No matter the cost"
Zola nods but then smiles, almost jumping in happiness. "Does this mean I can undagger Bekah?"
Elijah nods and Zola runs out the room into the other, almost tripping over her feet. She goes over to the coffin and opens the first one she sees, which wasn't Rebekah's. It was Kol's coffin.
"This is Kol right?"
"Yes elskan"
Zola tenses up and places her hand over his dagger. She turns her head to face Klaus, in a questioning way, and he nods, understanding what she was asking.
She pulls the dagger from his chest and then moves on to the other two coffins.
She pulled the dagger from Finn's and Rebekah's chest. Wanting her friend to come faster, she grabbed one of the blood bags Klaus had brought to her and started to shove the blood down Rebekah's throat.
She starts to see the grey disappear and places the bag down on a nearby table, and starts to rub her hair "Come on Beks, I need you here."
Zola stayed like that for about another minute or so, and Rebekah gasped for air, coming up fast, almost hitting Zola in the head. "Zola?"

"Yeah, do you need more blood? Nikki, hand me another blood bag" Zola asks, happy to see her friend up and awake. Klaus goes to hand her a bag but it's ripped from his hands
"Nikki? Now that is new. So she is. Let me guess, the mate?"
Zola turns around to see Kol, smirking at her and sipping on the blood.
"Zola Fay Saltzman"
"Hmm, She's small"
Zola turns back around to see Finn standing near Elijah, who is analyzing her.
"Rude. I'm not small, it's just my leg didn't get the memo"
Everyone chuckles at her.
"Well why don't you guys clean up? Lili, Nikki, help your brothers while I help Beks please"
Zola didn't wait for them to respond and she pulls Rebekah upstairs to help her change.
"Hmmm please give me something comfortable so I can go after that backstabbing bitch"
"Come on Beks, you just woke up. You can go after her tomorrow" Zola says, smiling at her while handing some clothes over.
"So what did I miss?"
"Alot"
------------------------------------
It's the next day, and sadly tonight Elijah has planned an old-fashioned sit down with the Salvatores, and Zola isn't all too happy about it.
"Can't I just stay up here while you guys deal with them downstairs?" Zola whined, not accepting the dress Elijah is trying to hand her.
"Come on elskan, it's only for an hour or so. We need our mother's coffin back and then we can leave. Far away from here"
"But Stefan is gonna be there and I just might throw something at him"
"Yes, you do have a knack for that huh?" Elijah reaches to her, grabbing Zola's waist. Kissing her softly, he pulls back and hands her, her dress.
"Now go get dress, before I send Rebekah in here" Elijah sternly but softly says, leaving her to get ready.
Zola groans but puts her big girl pants on. Worst thing that can happened is she throws her knife at someone.
"Family our guest is here"
"Ahhh, Damon. Stefan, meet our siblings" Klaus states, with his hand around Zola's waist.
"You've already met Rebekah. This is Kol and Finn"
"Huh Stefan?" Kol questions towards Zola "This is the one who hurt my dear fragile sister in law"
"Kol, would you please?" Elijah points to the table, slightly playfully glaring at Zola who is silently giggling in Klaus's arm.
Elijah had asked for her not to do something that would hurt her but he never asked his brothers. Zola had told Kol about what happened and he promised her that he would cause some havoc for her.
"Damon. Stefan. Elijah tells me, you seek an audience. Very bold. Let's discuss the terms of our agreement like civilized men, shall we?" Klaus states, gesturing to the table where Kol, Rebekah, and Finn are sitting.
Klaus walks towards the table himself, and pull out Zola's seat for her, having Elijah at the head of the table to her left, Klaus to her right with Kol sitting next to Klaus, Finn next to Kol at the other end of the table and Rebekah, who was sadly placed next to Stefan which leaves the chair next to him open for Damon.
"It's better to indulge him." Rebekah states
"I didn't come here to eat, Klaus. Fact, I didn't want to come here at all. But I was told I had to cause you would hear us out." Stefan snaps, glaring at the Mikaelson family.
Klaus smirks, bitterly "Stefan, I would watch what you say because after that little game you played the other day, almost harming Zola, makes me want to kill you, but my dear Zola made me promise that I wouldn't kill you right away. So either sit down and eat or I will rip out your throat and pull your insides and feed it to your brother. Your choice"
Damon, not liking how his brother is acting, pushes him to the table, making him sit down. Once everyone was sat at the table, the compelled servants started serving the course of the night.
While eating, Klaus noticed that Stefan wasn't eating, rather he was glaring out into the open.
"You lost your appetite."
"Eat. I thought we agreed that we would leave the grumpy Stefan at home." Damon mockingly states towards Stefan.
Stefan starts to eat, and Zola makes quick eye contact with him to which he glares.
"How's your head?"
"It's fine but you know what won't be fine" Zola pauses, smirking "Your eye if you keep eyeing me. And I've had plenty of target practice. Do you want to see?" She grips her fork, and goes to throw it but Elijah grabs her wrist, snatching the fork from her hands, and points it at her in an almost scolding way.
Zola rolls her eyes, reaches over Klaus to steal his fork and continues eating.
"I mean none of that would've happened if Klaus had just listened to me the first time" Stefan states, smugly staring at Zola after Elijah scolded her.
"Stefan, I know I am just human but I have two original badass vampires for mates. That gives me enough confidence to jump over this table, shove this fork down your throat and still be alive at the end of the night. But for you, not so much confidence. So shut your blood stealing hole" Zola snaps back at him.
Kol and Rebekah tries to stifle their laughs but couldn't, and just ends up letting it out. Finn tries not to smile but he let's a small one show while Klaus and Elijah smirks proudly at Zola, for standing up for herself.
"Right, your mates. You are still with them even after everything they did, I mean he almost killed Jenna, your fathers girlfriend" Stefan points at Klaus "And who knows who else he's killed"
"You're right, I don't know. Do you know how many people you have killed?"
Stefan goes rigid and silent, not liking the change of topic. Zola smiles at him, no longer interested in the conversation.
---------------------------------------
"So Stefan, where is that lovely backstabbing bitch, Elena?" Rebekah questioned, with slight rage in her tone.
"I don't know. Ask Damon." Stefan unemotionally says, slouching in his chair.
Rebekah looked surprised by the answer and looks over to Zola who is silently giggling into her hand.
"Remember, trouble in paradise" Zola said after finally being able to control her laughter.
"One more word about Elena and this dinner's over." Stefan states, snapping and going back to glaring at Zola.
Zola puts her hands up in mock surrender.
"You know what, probably best just to keep Elena in the do-not-discuss pile." Damon exclaims, tensely.
"Elena? Oh right, the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger, still so strong. You know what we should talk about. Tatia" Kol states, enjoying how tense Elijah, and Klaus got.
"Whose Tatia?" Zola asks, not liking how her mates tensed up.
"Wow, you never told Zola about Tatia. Elijah, Klaus?"
"It's long been dealt with and solved. No need to bring it up" Klaus firmly states, but now even the Salvatores are interested.
"Well, we're not going anywhere Elijah. Please, do tell." Damon eagerly says.
Elijah and Klaus looks at Zola, not wanting to upset her but she nods, wanting to know about her as well.
Elijah sighs "When our family first settled here, there was a girl named Tatia. She was an exquisite beauty. Every boy of age desired to be her suitor, even though she'd had a child by another man. And none loved her more than Niklaus."
Klaus bitterly smirks at Elijah "I'd say there was one who loved her at least as much."
"Wow, shockers. You see Zola, you aren't really that special if this has happened before" Stefan says, watching how cold Zola's glare got towards him.
"Tatia happened before our mother turned us into vampires. At first, we hated each other. Neither of us gave up the grudge but then we learned we would share the one who was meant for us not long after, so we learned to care for each other. For the sake of our mate" Elijah states, sneaking his hand down to touch Zola's leg to which Klaus does the same to the other, and it helps Zola calm down.
"Yes we learned that what we had was special. Zola is our special" Klaus softly states, staring at Zola. Both of them kiss Zola's cheeks, showing their affection for her.
"Disgusting. You can stop now" Kol mutters, looking away after Klaus and Elijah started to kiss her neck.
Elijah, taking his head from Zola's neck, clears his throat and nods "Yes, why don't we move this evening along and discuss the terms of this proposal?"
"That's very simple. Klaus gets his coffin back, in exchange, he and the Original extended family leave Mystic Falls forever. Me, Stefan, and Elena live happily ever after. While Zola stays here with her father who is the rightful caregiver of the little kid" Damon states
Zola groaned "I thought this deal was about Elena."
"It is love, and I was gonna agree to it until the last part because you see there will be no way in bloody hell I leave Zola here. She is ours" Klaus states with a bit of a bitter tone.
"Then take her with you. Leave Elena alone" Stefan jumps up from his chair, ready to attack someone at any minute to which the Mikaelson take it as a threat, they all stand up from the chairs. Elijah and Klaus pushes Zola behind them, ready to protect her at any cost.
Stefan goes to jump but the slamming of the dining room door opening caught all of their attention.
Damon knows whats about to happen, grabs Stefan and vamp-speed them away.
Coming through the door, is this gorgeous blond woman whose clothes don't belong to this era. Her name is Esther.
"Mother?" Rebekah gasp in shock. Everyone is stunned, not knowing what to do.
Esther walks towards Klaus and stops right infront of him.
Klaus tries avoiding her stare but she makes him look at her
"Do you know why I'm here?"
Klaus goes rigid, and starts to tear a little "you're here to kill me"
Zola gasps, and goes to place herself between them two but Elijah grabs her, not wanting her to get hurt. He knows Klaus can defend his own, even from their mother.
"Niklaus, you are my son and I am here to forgive you. I want us to be a family again." Esther states, softly caressing Klaus's cheek, staring longing at her children.
Zola, however, starts to get faint clips of her vision, and it brings a bad feeling forward. She doesn't believe Esther.
