《Kindred Spirits》Chapter 10

Being back in Mystic Falls is somewhat surreal for Zola. Especially when she knew she could run into her father at any moment. Which is something she wanted, wanting to see him and all.

Klaus, Rebekah, and temporarily dead Stefan went to the highschool, after Zola told them it would be senior prank night. Zola was worried about them and the people in Mystic Falls. Klaus was rather upset. She made him promise her to not do much damage.

Zola and Elijah went to the Grill for some dinner, and hoped to see her father as well.

Having eaten and buying time for her father to magically appear, Elijah called it a night, seeing how upset being here is making Zola.

After paying the check, Elijah and Zola make their way to the car.

"Has Nikki contacted you yet?"

"Yes he has, he is turning Tyler at the moment, and making Stefan suffer"

Zola sighs and turns around to face him but then Elijah screams out in pain. Zola feels a stabbing pinch in her chest and grabs Elijah by his shoulder.

"Lijah? What's wrong?"

She starts to see Elijah turning grey, declaring him dead. He falls on to the floor, in Zola lap. She cries, and looks up.

Zola gasps, seeing her father standing there, with a bloody stake in his hand.

"Dad?!"

"Zola, come on. Damon told me you guys were in town and I went searching for you. Let's go" Alaric says, grabbing Zola's hand and pulling her up.

She rips her hand from his hold "Who the hell do you think you are?!"

"Excuse me" Alaric says out of shock

"You killed Elijah and now you think I'm just gonna go with you" Zola states, astounded at the audacity her father has.

"He is evil Zo. What are you not understanding.."

Zola cuts him off "He is MY MATE"

They both went silent, their harsh breathing is the only thing being heard.

"Klaus and Elijah are my mates. We are bonded together. Whether you like it or not"

"We can get Bonnie to find a spell then, to remove the bond"

"No, you are not getting it are you? I'm finally starting to make sense, dad, I'm starting to feel like I belong, and they are the reasons for that. And yeah, they are dangerous and evil. Maybe even monsters but I see more than that. I see the side no one else sees and that's why I choose them over you."

Alaric scoffs "You'll die if you stay with them"

"Then I die"

"NO. Can't you see I don't want that to happen?"

"You don't get to make that decision"

"Yes actually, I can. I am still your father and you're only 17, which means I am still responsible for you. So now either you get into my car willing or I will drag you in there."

"So you would take away my free will?"

"If that means you survive. Then yes."

Zola scoffs, taking a step forward "Mom would've let me be"

"Maybe because she would've been too high to care, Now let's go"

Alaric grabs Zola's arm, pulling her to his car where she can see Jenna waiting for them. Zola, tired of her father, grabs his hand and rips it off her. She twisted it and push him away from her.

"I'm not leaving here with you"

"How did you learn that?"

"Klaus taught me that during the summer. You also want to know what I learned?"

Alaric raises his eyebrow in question.

"I learned that I'm a psychic. Thanks for the warning by the way." Zola sarcastically said.

"You found out? How?"

"How do you think? I was getting visions, memories that weren't mine to have"

Alaric sighs and tries one more time to grab her but she slaps his hand away.

"I am not going with you, and that is the last time I am telling you" She seethes at him.

"When did you try to be the best parent? Ohh wait, it only came when I left, not when I was already here and needing my father" Zola says. She starts to get pains in her chest and she knew it was her this time. She knew that she needed to calm down or this wouldn't end well but she couldn't let him win this.

"Zola please. I tried"

"You didn't try hard enough, but you did for Elena, didn't you?"

"I'm done with this. You are going to walk away from here and leave me the HELL ALONE" Zola yells breathlessly, grabbing onto her chest, groaning.

Alaric, shocked, tries to reach for her "Zola, what's wrong?"

"My chest" Zola whimpers, falling to the ground but before she can hit the ground, someone grabs her.

"Get the HELL AWAY FROM HER" Klaus yells out, pulling Zola more into her chest

"She is my daughter Klaus. Give her to me"

"And I believe she said to go away" Elijah says from behind them, finally waking up because of Rebekah.

"Go, you are not wanted here. I should just kill you for hurting Zola but she would probably kill me" Rebekah says

Jenna, seeing that this would only end badly, grabs onto Alaric's arm "Come on. It looks like she is in good hands. Just leave her be"

Zola gasping for air in Klaus's arm, brings their attention back to her

"Elskan, I need you to breathe for us okay" Elijah caresses her face.

"I can't" Zola mutters

Klaus moves her around, so she is standing in front of him.

"Love, you will pass out if this keeps going. Try to calm down"

Nothing is working to get her to calm down, not even the touch of her mates so Rebekah blurts a solution.

"Kiss her. It says here that kissing can calm someone down."

Klaus and Elijah look at each other, and Elijah nods letting Klaus do it.

Klaus gently moves Zola's head so he is staring face to face with her. He can see that Zola is so focused on trying to calm herself down that she doesn't even notice him grabbing her face.

He moves slowly, making sure to keep an eye on her in case she tries to pull back. He tilts his head and gently kisses her.

The kiss broke her out of the own world she was in, to which she gasps.

This allows Klaus to deepen the kiss, and she lets him know it's okay by moving her lips with him.

After a few minutes which felt like hours for the both of them, they pulled apart. Zola panting slightly, but the vampires can hear that her heartbeat had slowed down tremendously.

"Do you feel better elskan?"

Elijah rubs her back. He doesn't feel jealous that his brother got the first kiss but rather relieved that it worked. He was worried for their mate's well-being.

"It ease up a bit but it's still there"

"We need to get that surgery done fast" Klaus says after reeling himself back in.

They all agree.

Zola will not die on their watch, not when they can fix her problems.
