《Kindred Spirits》chapter 7

If Zola knew they would be hiking it in the woods, she would've asked to stay back in the hotel.
At least her outfit is somewhat hiking appropriate, granted Elijah did pick out for her. But yet, he still wore a suit in this hot weather. Zola is surprised he isn't sweating bullets.
But she is lucky she isn't in Stefan's shoes, having to carry Ray and all.
"You okay? Is Ray getting heavy?" Klaus asks Stefan, mockingly
Zola hits his shoulder
"I'm fine."
"You sure about that? You know, we've been walking for quite some time now. If you need some water or a little sit-down" Now Klaus is just being mean
"You know, I get that we're stuck together, but if we could maybe just skip the chit chat, it'd be great." Stefan grunts out
"So much brooding. Your self-loathing is suffocating you, my friend."
" Maybe it's 'cause I'm a little tired of hunting werewolves. We've been at it all summer."
"No forreal, when can we do something that's actually fun?" Zola whines, but Klaus just ignores her, not paying attention to her childish ways.
"Thanks to our pal Ray, we found ourselves a pack." Klaus points people out "There."
Stefan walks forward first, throwing Ray onto the floor.
"Ray! Oh, my God. What's going on? Who are you?" One of the women in the pack rushes front, checking on Ray
Zola cringes with how hard he had hit the ground.
"The important question is who I am. Please forgive the intrusion. My name is Klaus." Klaus says, catching their attention
The woman gasps out "You're the hybrid."
"You've heard of me. Fantastic." He smirks
"It's fascinating, actually...A werewolf who isn't beholden to the moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the sun. A true hybrid." Klaus says, practically bragging.
Zola had sat down on a log by everyone and Elijah is standing somewhat in front of her, staying on alert just in case something happens
Ray wakes up with a start, gasping.
"Excellent timing, Ray. Very dramatic." Klaus says
Ray starts to panic and Klaus looks at Stefan. He stands up, looking around the camp.
"Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition to vampire. If he doesn't get it, he will die."
"Doesn't take much, just a sip. Anyone? A boyfriend, a girlfriend, along for the ride?"
"What about her?" The woman points to Zola, and Elijah stands right in front of her, snarling at the woman.

"Touch her and you won't be able to experience what my brother is offering. You'll experience something worse."
Klaus looks around and points to a random guy "You!"
He rushes over to him and bites his forearm. Stefan grabs him out of Klaus's hand, throws him on the ground in front of Ray. The woman tries to attack them but Klaus catches her by the neck.
"If you don't drink it, Ray, I will. Problem is I don't know how to stop." Stefan grits out to Ray but Stefan doesn't have to say anything else before Ray attacks the man's arm.
Seeing all the blood that is starting to show, Zola puts her face into Elijah's back, hiding from the world.
"It's the new order, sweetheart. You join us, or you die." She hears Klaus say. She then hears gagging and then snapping of a neck. "She'll thank me for that later"
"Who's next?" Klaus announces, ready to turn every single wolf here.
After some time and a lot of fighting, Klaus turned every single werewolf in the camp. Elijah had to help Klaus to get them to submit, they made sure Zola had her eyes closed, but she didn't have to be told twice.
Klaus gives his blood to the human and compels him.
"There. Good as new. Now you relax, okay, mate? We're gonna need you when the rest of them wake up."
"Elskan, you can open your eyes now" Going over to Zola, Elijah grabs her hand helping her stand from the log. She looks around and sees all of the werewolves dead.
She looks to Ray and sees him shivering, not looking the best.
"They're dead. They're all dead."
Klaus examines him making sure everything looks okay. "Ah, he's through his transition. He should be feeling better soon."
"So is this your master plan? Build an army of hybrid slaves?" Stefan says, not really understanding Klaus
"No, not slaves. Soldiers, comrades."
"For what war, might I ask?" Stefan asks out of curiosity
"Oh, you don't arm yourself after war has been declared, Stefan. You build your army so big that no one ever dares pick a fight." Klaus states
"What makes you so sure that they'll be loyal?" Stefan asks, mocking Klaus's matter of fact tone.
"Well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team. That's something you'll learn once you shake that horribly depressive chip off your shoulder." Klaus bites back

Stefan laughs, aggravated.
"That's why you're, uh...you're keeping me around? To witness my attitude adjustment?"
Zola, who kept her eye on Ray, started to notice blood coming from Ray's eyes.
"Nik?"
Klaus turns around and Zola points out Ray's eyes. Klaus grabs his face, examining it again.
"You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know. Something's wrong."
"You said it was gonna feel better. Why doesn't it feel better?" Ray cries out, shaking really bad.
"Some master race." Stefan snaps, jokingly
Klaus, not in the mood for his jokes, snaps his eyes up to Stefan "Lose the attitude."
One of the wolves wakes up, gasping for air.
"Derek, come feed your girlfriend."
Klaus moves away from Ray and that was a big mistake.
Ray jumps up and attacks Zola to the ground. He bites into her shoulder and she screams out. Elijah, who was caught by surprise, throws Ray off of Zola, and he runs off.
Elijah kneels next to Zola, pulling her into his chest, checking her shoulder.
Zola cries into his chest, still in pain from the bite.
He bites into wrist and put his wrist in front her mouth "Drink love, so you can heal"
Zola leans forward and latches onto his wrist, drinking his blood to heal herself.
She didn't let go until she felt it heal and Elijah can feel her hesitantly let go of his wrist. If he is being honest, he didn't particularly want her to stop either but not the time or place for that.
"Are you okay, love? Does it still hurt?"
Zola looks up, seeing Klaus standing in front of her, worriedly.
"I'm okay. I'll be fine"
Both Klaus and Elijah exhales, feeling relieved
Klaus leaves for a minute and comes back to see almost every single of the wolves are starting to wake up.
Elijah had moved Zola to the rock Ray was sitting on. He sits next to her, pulling her in.
It's now nighttime at the camp and Klaus had gotten someone to start a campfire near Zola because she started to shiver from the cold that is steeping in the night. He grabs hold of Derek.
"Bad news, my friend. End of the road for you."
Klaus kills him by drinking his blood and the woman appears in front of Klaus, eyes set on Zola.
"Careful, love. There's only one Alpha here."
Elijah and Zola looks around, noticing the werewolves around them, walking like zombies
"Bloody hell."
And with that, she jumps. Aiming right for Zola.
"You know, I'm going to start charging you guys for the amount of time I get hurt tonight" Zola sarcastically says, while Klaus is wiping the blood off her neck.
"I'm sorry love, I didn't mean for you to get hurt"
"Hey" Zola stops Klaus's hand, and grabs his face so he can look at her.
"It's not your fault. This just happened just like everything else"
She leans in and kisses his cheek. She pulls back to see him smiling at her softly.
They hear crunching of leaves and turn around to see Stefan walking back to camp with Ray over his shoulders. He sees everyone else, dead on the floor. Either head missing or heart missing or even just blood all over them, he also notices that Elijah is missing.
"What happened? Where did Elijah go?"
Klaus walks away from Zola and grabs a bottle of beer.
"He went back to the hotel to pack everything up. And them...They went rabid. Some of them I killed. The others just bled out. In the end, they're all dead." Klaus yells and throws the bottle of beer in his hand. He screams at the sky.
"I did everything I was told" Klaus yells but then somewhat starts to relax when Zola grabs his hand, rubbing it. "I should be able to turn them. I broke the curse. I killed a werewolf. I killed a vampire. I killed the doppelgänger."
Stefan grimaces. But Zola notices, and tenses up, getting a bad vibe.
Klaus sighs and looks at Stefan "You look like hell"
"Last I checked, I'm dying, and you don't want to heal me." Stefan says, quietly.
"I had to take him out. I didn't have a choice. I failed you. I'm sorry. Do what you have to do." Stefan says after he sees Klaus looking at Ray's body.
"It should have worked." Klaus turns towards Zola after he feels her tug his arm. She jerks her head in Stefan's direction. He sighs and grabs an empty bottle of beer. He bites his hand, and puts the blood in the bottle and gives it to Stefan
"Bottoms up. We're leaving." Klaus grabs Zola's hand and pulls her in the direction of the car.
"It appears you guys are the only comrade I have left."
Zola kisses his arm, trying to give him some sort of comfort like he did for her.
Now they are off to try to find out what the hell happened and Zola is starting to somewhat guess what happened with how Stefan acts when Elena is talked about.

The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
It is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde. The novella's impact is such that it has become a part of the language, with the very phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next.------------I do not own or did not write this story. It is a copy of Original Book that I have uploded to help spread the book to wider audiences. Hope you enjoy.

The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
