Zola, Klaus and Elijah had been chatting for hours, and didn't even realize how late it was until Zola's 2am alarm went off for her meds.

They were chatting about all the different types of adventures Klaus and Elijah had been through. Klaus even opened up little about their father, talking about how cruel he was during their human years.

Zola even told them about her mother, who currently resides in prison because of the attempted murder. She talked about how her father now has full rights over her.

She even hinted about how she felt about his relationship with the Gilbert family.

She loves Jenna, not so much Elena. Alaric is always over there at their house and she feels that sometimes he acts more of a dad to Elena than his own daughter.

That's a reason she had left to go to her mother because she wanted some sort of parental attention but well, you know how that went.

Once her alarm went off, Zola had to excuse herself to the kitchen where her meds are.

"Love, what exactly do you have?" Klaus questions

"I have a tumor on my heart which causes the heart murmur. I've had it since I was born because I was a still-born baby and then I wasn't. I don't know how that happened and neither did the doctors. I take these meds to help with the weakness and nosebleeds I tend to get"

"Does it hurt?" Elijah asks, worriedly.

"No, not really. I mean what happened at Rose's house was because of the chloroform. I guess whoever kidnapped me, gave me too much and my body couldn't handle it. But sometimes, I will wake up with chest pains which I've gotten used to but can still hurt"

"Have you thought of removing, surgical wise?"

"Yes, but my insurance doesn't cover the surgery so I was saving up money for it when I was living with my mother, but now my dad is doing the saving. Can't really do much though with all the bills he has to worry about."

Zola pauses for a minute to take her meds.

" The doctors got everything in control so they aren't too worried, but they had hoped at least the murmur would've went away" She shrugs "But I'm fine"

Klaus and Elijah looked at each other, and nodded understanding what was going through their heads. There was no way they were gonna let their mate stay with this tumor that could potentially kill her. They will find the best doctor and help her, no questions asked.

"Well love, I hope you don't mind but me and Elijah will be staying here tonight with you. We compelled your father to stay somewhere else."

Zola turns around shocked to look at Klaus. "Why? You could just easily compel the nicest hotel rooms but instead you want to stay in a two bedroom apartment that can barely fit me and my dad"

"Yes" Klaus and Elijah say simultaneously

"Okay I guess but did you have to compel my dad? How did you even do that? We have vervain in our system"

"Well I have witches that are loyal to me so they were able to do a little spell that got Alaric to do anything I say. It had worn off the minute he got to his girlfriend's house."

Zola just nods, not completely understanding what he just said

"Okay but my father is off limits please. No hurting him"

Both Klaus and Elijah agree, not wanting to upset their mate.

"Well thank you for explaining things to me. I'm gonna get some sleep or at least try to."

They all say their goodnights while Zola goes off into her room and the Mikaelson brothers stay in the living room, chatting among themselves about the plans that are to come.

And not even once tonight, did Zola wake up screaming and thrashing. She slept peacefully.

The next day was the day for everything to go down.

Klaus and Elijah didn't want to upset their mate so they had left out their plans for the ritual that will be happening that night. They also agreed that Elijah would stay here with Zola and well now Katherina, and keep her busy and distracted.

Zola waking up to someone opening up her blinds was just a no go.

"Stop. Before I throw a pillow at you"

"That's not nice elskan"

"You know what isn't nice? Blinding a sleeping person"

Zola picks up her pillow from beside her and throws it to the direction she heard his voice.

Elijah grabs the pillow before it can hit him. He smiles at her. He places the pillow down and sits by her side. "Elskan, come on. Wake up, it's past 9"

Zola peeks up at Elijah "At night? I slept for that long"

"No Elskan, in the morning" Elijah chuckles

"Ugh, Elijah. Can you not do this? It's too early"

"I made you breakfast"

Zola makes a sound of disagreement. And Elijah takes matter into his hand. He gets up and picks up Zola.

"What are you doing?" Zola exclaims, grabbing on to his neck

"I'm taking you to the kitchen, so you can eat breakfast"

Elijah puts Zola onto the chair near the island, and gives her her breakfast.

"Oatmeal and fruits? Not that I'm not thankful or anything but I can just eat cereal, you know that right?"

"Elskan, just eat your food so you can take your morning meds."

"Is this how it's gonna be every morning?"

"I don't know what you mean" Elijah turns around putting the dishes into the dishwasher

"Being a hen mother"

He stops what he is doing and turns to Zola, raising his eyebrow. Katherine, having come out of Alaric's room from snooping, laughs. "Isn't this so cute?"

"Elena? What were you doing in my dad's room?" Zola questions

"Not Elena. I feel rather insult by that"

"Ooh, you're Katherine? You look just like her, but darker. Sorry, my name is Zola.."

"Fay Saltzman. Yeah I know" Katherina cuts her off

"Why are you here?"

"Niklaus kidnapped her for revenge, remember what we told you yesterday?"

"Yeah I remember, Katherine betrayed you guys by leaving and turning herself, right?"

Elijah nods, wiping his hands on a rag.

Zola continues to eat her breakfast, and when she finishes it, Elijah gives Zola her morning meds. "So why are you still here, and not with Klaus?"

"Niklaus is doing something and we won't see him until tonight love. Now come on, you get freshen up and then let's watch a movie. Umm Katerina, why don't you go to the room and stay there?"

Katerina follows what Elijah says and goes into Alaric's room. Zola goes to the bathroom to freshen up and then goes to sit down with Elijah in the living room and watch movies until nightfall.

Suddenly, Elijah gets a call from Klaus to make his way to the ritual site with Zola.

Elijah not telling Zola where they're going, just to put her shoes and jacket on.

Making it to the site, Zola sees Klaus telling to some girl and feels a slight pitch in her chest.

"Zola?!"

She looks to her right to see Elena, Jenna, and some other girl trap in some ring of fire.

"Elena? Jenna? Why are you here? Klaus, Elijah, what is this?" Zola is starting to panic, not liking the vibes.

"Sorry love, we didn't tell you because we didn't want you to hurt yourself by worrying too much" Klaus states, walking towards them.

"But... Can't you find someone else for this?" Zola pleads, looking at Jenna. Maybe she can try to at least save Jenna for her father.

"Elena is essential to this spell love, and well Jenna is me trying to teach these little children a lesson"

"Nik please. Jenna means the world to my dad, I can't... he can't lose her" Zola grabs Klaus's hand, practically begging for Jenna's life "Please, find someone else"

Klaus sighs, knowing he wouldn't put his mate through anymore emotional pain if he can help it. He nods towards Greta "Find another person. And let her out"

Greta nods, letting Jenna go. Zola reaches forward to grab her, pulling her to her chest.

"Are you okay?" Zola asks, worried for her. She may not like the Gilbert family but Jenna was someone she can tolerate.

"He killed her, Zola. She's in transition right now" Elena says "What are you doing with them? Alaric has been worried"

"The spell Klaus put on him wore off Elena, if he was actually worried he would've came to check up on me" Zola muttered to Elena

A few moments later, Greta comes back with a freshly transitioned vampire and Klaus begins the ritual.

"I've got the moonstone. I spent 500 years looking for this. I hate to part with it." Klaus says sarcastically

Elijah and Zola watch from the sidelines with Jenna in her arms.

"The moon has passed its apex. Remember everything you need to do?" Greta tells Klaus

He nods "I remember."

Klaus passes the moonstone to Greta and she drops it into the bowl, and with that she starts the spell.

"Does he have to be so close to her? Why can't he stand on the other side of this quarry?" Zola says out of jealousy. Elijah and Klaus, who heard her, laughs.

"Don't worry love. You are it for me"

Klaus walks over to Jules, Tyler's werewolf friend, who is moaning in pain. She looks up to Elena. "Everything I did...I was just trying to help Tyler."

"She's Jules? That werewolf girl" Zola asks looking up to Elijah. He nods

"I didn't want him to be alone!"

"Shall we?" Klaus asks her

The ring of fire around Jules disappears and Jules tries to attack Klaus but he catches her. He pins her to the ground and plunges his hand into her chest and rips out her heart.

Zola, not knowing this was gonna happen, gasped in shock. "Klaus, why did you do that?!"

Zola lets go of Jenna and goes to step forward but Elijah pulls her back.

"I'm sorry love, it's a necessity"

"You were gonna do this to Jenna. I..."

"I know, and that's why I let her go. For you"

Klaus walks to the bowl and starts squeezing the blood inside of it

"Is it working"

Greta nods at him "Yes, it's working"

Klaus approaches the next ring and quickly works on this vampire. Zola, not being able to watch, stuffs her head into Elijah's chest.

"I know elskan, I'm sorry. It'll be over soon"

"I don't recall you being on the guest list" Klaus calls out

Everyone looks up to the cliff to see Stefan.

"I'm here to talk"

"Very well, then" Klaus vamp-speed up to Stefan and starts to talk with him.

"Zola"

Zola looks at Jenna "Yes? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Zola starts to frantically check Jenna's body but Jenna stops her.

"I'm fine. Hungry but otherwise I'm fine"

Zola nods, releasing a sigh

"I just wanted to say sorry for keeping Alaric away from you. You had just come back and we practically stole all his time. He should've been with you, helping you heal." Jenna says, crying.

"It's okay, he knew what he was doing. He's a grown man after all." Zola mutters to her, not liking the subject of the talk. Jenna goes to say something back but they see Klaus and Stefan walking back down.

"Stefan here thinks he could've traded himself for Jenna. But look around, I didn't use her. But now that you are here" Klaus speeds away and back, stakes Stefan right in the back. He snaps his neck for good measure "I don't need him missing things up"

Klaus walks up to Elena and the circle of fire disappears from around Elena. Elena looks up at him. "It's time" Klaus walks her to the altar and follows her up to the altar. Elena only focusing on Stefan's knocked out body, Klaus grabs her face to make her look at him.

"Thank you Elena"

"Go to hell"

"I'm sorry Zola but I can't let her die" Jenna pushes Zole to the ground and tries to run Elena but Elijah reaches forward blocking her.

"Sorry Jenna but I can't let that happen" Elijah snaps her neck, letting her fall to the ground.

"Jenna!" Elena goes to step forwards but Klaus stops her.

"Let's continue shall we?"

'Rot in hell"

Klaus smirks, and grabs her. He bites into her, draining her of her blood.

Elijah checks on Zola to make sure she is okay, only seeing she had scraped her hands and knees. He helps her up.

Both look up to see Klaus letting go of Elena's body, declaring her dead.

Zola looks at Klaus and starts to see his eyes glow gold-ish.

"I can feel it. It worked" Klaus states right before his bones start to break

"Nik!" Zola yells and tries to run to him but Elijah stops her.

"Too dangerous my love, let him turn first"

Zola nods and just stares at Klaus changing, cringing and tensing up everytime she hears a bone break.

All of sudden, Klaus screams out in more pain. Zola and Elijah turn around to see Bonnie chanting. Greta screams out.

They turn around to see that Damon snapped her neck.

"Zola?!"

She turns back around to see her father running towards her.

"What are you doing here?"

Zola ignores him and runs to Klaus.

"Stop Bonnie. You are hurting him!"

"Zola, get away from him. They are the enemy. Whatever he told you, it's not true" Alaric tries to plead with her.

"Stop this please"

Elijah, having seen Greta die, started to fight with Damon and Stefan.

"This isn't okay, Zola. He just killed Elena and Jenna"

"Jenna is alive. She is just taking a nap"

"That doesn't make it any better. He killed Elena"

"Dad, please I'm begging you stop this"

Alaric reaches out to Zola, but she steps back

"Why them? Why are you choosing them? They are evil"

"And Damon and Stefan aren't? When Damon found out about you being a hunter, he tried to kill me to get to you but you didn't care. Instead you became friends with him. Your little drinking buddy" Zola states

"He apologizes for it and saved you from John, Zola"

"And that makes it alright? Dad, you choose them over me. You have since we got here. I saw that and left to be with mom but she chose her drugs over me. That's the only reason I am back here" Zola yells out to Alaric

"That's different Zo, they will kill you. They probably compelled you to think that all this is okay"

Elijah, having beat Stefan and Damon by snapping their necks, hits Bonnie on the head with a stick, stopping the spell. He walks over to Zola and Klaus.

"This isn't okay dad, I know that. But what right do I have to stop Nik from being what he wants to be. His true self"

"Nik, huh?" Alaric whispered but Zola heard him just fine.

"What the hell happened in that apartment Zola?"

"They told me things that you wouldn't even want to understand"

Elijah helps Klaus up and goes to grab Zola's hand but she pulls away, not finished with her father yet.

"They showed me that I can be happy"

"I tried to do that but you locked yourself away in your room. Away from me!"

"Because I didn't want you dad, I wanted mom. I wanted my mom but I couldn't have her"

"She tried killing you"

"I meant before, when she tried stopping. She had changed, for me, because I asked her to. But then she heard that you got together with Isobel and fell hard."

"So you're blaming me?" Alaric cried out

"Yes I am. I never wanted to be here. Not with you. Because you have a family here, and my family" Zola not able to keep it in, let's out a sob

"My family is sentenced in prison and working on herself. And she won't get out until I'm older and no longer need my mother but now, I need her. I want my mom"

Zola stops to breathe, crying so hard, her chest starts to hurt. She can also see her father crying as well. "So that's it huh? You choose them over me?"

"No, I'm choosing me. They are just included with it" Zola finally grabbing Elijah's hand

"Zola Fay Saltzman, don't do this please. You are all I have"

"No, you have Jenna, and Jeremy. You'll be fine"

Alaric scoffs "if you leave, you'll be just like your mother"

Zola looks at Alaric, making firm eye contact. "I'll make sure that is put on my tombstone then. She decided to be just like her mother and died because of it. Kind of cute, you know the symmetry of that"

Zola finally looks at Elijah and Klaus, both already looking at her. She nodded and off they went. To let Klaus finish his transformation and leave, far away from here.

Alaric cries out.

She chose her happiness.

She chose herself.
