《Kindred Spirits》Chapter 3

Running is all I can do
I keep running and running
All I can see is tree
I keep hitting my face with branches and my feet are bleeding
I don't know what to do
I can't breathe, but I need to
Then I trip, and something turns me over
A monster
It gets closer and closer and then...
Zola wakes up with a scream. And someone grabbing her arms "Zo, stop. Zola, it's just a dream. You need to wake up"
"NO. GET OFF ME. Please!! Get off"
"Zola, it's me. Your dad. Please wake up"
She opens her eyes and sees her dad, not the monster. But that didn't make she feel any better
"Get out"
"Zo, what's been happening? This has been happening every night since you came back from the kidnapping. I'm worried. Please just talk to me"
Zola starts to frantically shake her head "Get out. Get out. GET OUT"
"Zola"
"Get out of my room"
You would think, with how she is acting, she belongs in a mental hospital
"Get out"
Zola is able to escape Alaric's hold and get up from the bed.
"Now"
She points to the door, and he stands up with his hands up as he is surrendering. "Zola please"
She doesn't know why but she suddenly get a rush of aggression and picks up the lamp by her bed and throw it at the wall behind him
"GET OUT OF MY ROOM"
Alaric shakily gets out of the room, slowly. These nightmares happen every night and he is scared for his daughter's well-being. He grabs his phone and dials Damon's number.
"It happened again. Didn't it?" Damon states tiredly
"Yep, but she threw a lamp at me. Damon, I'm scared for her. I need help"
"Do you want me to just compel it away"
"No, I have a feeling it won't stop this."
"Alaric, she'll be fine. She isn't the same girl from when her mother tried to kill her. She is not just gonna put it away in her mind and not let it affect her. Plus, she saw some dude with his head off his body. She is traumatized, just let her breathe"

"Yeah I guess, look I'm gonna go"
Alaric hangs up and looks at his daughter's door.
"She'll be fine. She is strong"
It's been a couple of days since the incident between Zola and Alaric.
Alaric tries every day to get her out of her room but she has locked the door on him. Damon threatened to kick down the door but that only resulted in a thud at the door.
Both, Damon and Alaric, knew that she just threw something to try and get them to go away.
Elijah has tried calling her. He snatched her phone number from Damon's phone.
But she won't even answer his phone calls. He is really worried about her.
Zola knew that something was wrong with her. It's like that dream isn't for her, and it makes her feel misplaced. She doesn't know what it is and it's scaring her. She just wants to be left alone but no one will leave her alone.
She can hear knocking at the door. She ignores it, knowing it will disappear eventually. The knocking at the door didn't cease until an hour later, but then she heard keys jiggling at the door. She sighs knowing her father is home.
Her father is another person that won't leave her alone. All she wants is to be alone and figure her 'dream' out on her own but he doesn't get that.
She hears footsteps to her door and knocks at her door. "Zola, can you come out here please?"
Alaric doesn't hear any movement coming from her room. He turns around and shrugs at the person behind him. "She won't come out. Haven't for awhile now"
"Why don't you just break down the door and force her out? Because if you won't I will"
"Niklaus please. Bad enough you got your witches to force him to let us in. We don't need her not liking us"
"Well that wouldn't have happened if she had just opened the door when we were knocking for an hour straight, Elijah"
Zola's head snaps up when she hears Elijah's name being said from just behind the door. She slowly sits up from her bed when she hears knocking again at the door.

"Zola love. Your father here told us that you hold yourself captive in your room. Please come out. I gave you my word I would explain somethings to you and I want to uphold that"
Zola just looks at the door, not really wanting to, again with wanting to be alone. But she really wants to hear what he has to say.
"Move Elijah, I'm doing this my way now"
She hears shuffling coming from behind the door and she goes to it. At the same time she opens Klaus goes to kick only to kick air, almost falling. He looks at where the door should be, only to hear giggling from his left.
He looks and sees the most beautiful woman he laid his eyes on.
"You couldn't do that before love" Niklaus states smirking. Zola just shrugs.
"Come on, I think it would be best, we move this to the living room" Elijah states. Everyone follows him only for Niklaus to stop walking. He grabs onto Alaric arm
"I think it would be best if you left. Go to the Grill or maybe even that lovely girlfriend's house of yours" Before Klaus let Alaric leave he also whispers something else and then Klaus lets go of his arm and sits on one of the chairs that is placed in the living room. Only Elijah sees and hears what he says.
Zola stands at the entrance of the hallway looking at her father retreating back and doesn't look away until he leaves the house.
"Sorry love, don't mean no harm but we rather have this conversation without unnecessary ears listening in. Please sit, we won't bite" Klaus smirks at Zola
Zola hesitantly sits on the couch Elijah is sitting on, so that now she is placed in between both of them.
"So shall we start?" Klaus asks Elijah
But Zola shakes her head "Wait"
She looks at Klaus "Who are you" She muttered to him
"Oh sorry love, my name is Niklaus. Most call me Klaus but for you love, call me Nik. Please"
"My name is Zola Fay Saltzman"
"Ahh yes, such a beautiful name. My brother informed me in on your name and a little unique defect you have"
"Let's talk about that later shall we please. Let start on the promise I would like to keep to"
Zola and Klaus agreed.
"Let's do a little context to begin first" Klaus states "My brother and I are from a family of vampires, The Mikaelsons. We are called the Original vampire family. Our mother turned us because she was scared to lose us the same way we lost our youngest brother Henik. She turned us into the first vampires to be in this world."
"Throughout the years, we have gotten many enemies. Klaus pissed off some witches and they retaliated by cursing me and my brother. Him because of his ruthlessness and me because of my loyalty. They tied us to a weakness but over the years, we learnt that it wouldn't be a weakness but rather give us strength. The witches tied us to a mortal. They gave us a soulmate that we would have to share. To protect, to care for, and love." Elijah stops, giving me a minute to breathe.
"But why are you telling me this?" Zola asked in a quiet voice, confused. Nothing is entering her head, going through one ear and out the other.
"Because love, you are that person" Klaus states and Zola inhales, widening her eyes.
"We've been searching for you for centuries, and I knew it was you from the moment I entered that house you were located in"
Everyone goes quiet.
No one says anything, letting the words that's been said sink in for a minute.
Zola looks from Klaus to Elijah.
"So I'm like your soulmate?"
"Yes love" Klaus confirms
Zola nods
"Okay, umm not what I was expecting but I can deal with this"
"Are you sure elskan? We don't want to pressure you into anything"
"Talk for yourself Elijah" Klaus states, jokily. Elijah didn't find it funny but Zola did.
Zola laughs a little hearing him say that. "So you guys are the first vampires to exist?"
"Yes"
"So you guys are stronger than everyone else?"
"Yes"
"Do you guys die the same way?"
"Why love? Sick of us already?" Klaus jokes
"Yep, so annoying"
They all erupted in chuckles
Zola was happy and somewhat distracted.
She needed this and she didn't even realize it.

A Gray and Grey world
What if adventurers are not as they seemed. In the tales of old, adventurers were the ones who vanquished the demons and beasts from the land, the ones who sealed the great evil away, the ones who saved the world from destruction and kept peace within the lands. But, what if that wasn't really what happened? What if adventurers are selfish, narcissicistic, and- depending on who you ask- evil. What if they weren't the paragons of good that their history books show. As they say, it is the victors that write history. In this world, this broken world, the true nature of adventurers will be told, unveiled to the masses. In this world, where history has yet to be written, the true heroes will be shown. Or- at least, that's what should've happened. But then again- heroes, villains-... everything is relative to the one who sees it. Everything changes depending on who's perspective... Perhaps the heroes of this story- may not be the heroes that you might think. Author : Hello everyone! I just want you all to know that this is a first time story.
