《Satan's Assassin》Epilogue

Dalton led me to an staircase. "Is this like a secret passageway?" I asked tilting my head. Dalton looked at me and smirked. "Sorta." That was Dalton's answer. Dalton started helping me up the stairs. I looked at Dalton who smiled. We arrived in front of a cherry wooden door.
"Close your eyes." Dalton said. Reluctantly I closed my eyes. "If your playing games, I'll gut you like a fish." I said as Dalton leaded me through the door. "Your gonna enjoy it, I promise." Dalton said uncovering my eyes. I took in my surroundings. We were on the roof of the mansion. The forest spread out in front of me like a map. There was a large stream in the forest.
"Do you like it?" Dalton asked. "Its so breathtaking." I said limping over to the edge. Dalton sat down on the edge and let his feet dangle. "This time of the year the leaves are orange, yellow, and red, there getting ready to fall, but the leaves grow back quickly, this forest was enchanted by a forest fae and nymph." Dalton explained as I sat next to him.
"How often do you come up here?" I asked tilting my head to the side. "When I'm stressed out, I thought since all that had happened you'd like to come up here." Dalton said. I nodded. "Do you celebrate Thanksgiving?" Dalton asked. "Usually me and Derik just have turkey and pumpkin cookies." I answered. "You two should have Thanksgiving dinner with us, we do a big feast." Dalton said smiling at me. I nodded at that.
"So what exactly do you do up here?" I asked Dalton sorta bored with the view. "Usually I just watch the forest." Dalton said. "What's the fun in that?" I asked. A smirk crept onto my face. "Why don't we go to that stream." I said. "There not gonna let you and Alana would probably drive you home or Derik." Dalton said. "Then jump." I said. "One of your legs already broken, no need for another." Dalton said. "Use your werewolf mojo thing." I said.
"Your not gonna leave me alone until I are you?" Dalton asked. I shook my head. Dalton stood up. "I'm gonna jump and shift, hold onto me even when I'm shifting, I don't care how gross it is, or you'll fall." Dalton said. I nodded. Dalton then stripped handing me his shorts. The shift is the least of my worries.

I grabbed a hold of his hair while I raised my leg in the air. "Seriously my hair." Dalton complained. "Deal with it." I said using my good wrist. Dalton then jumped off the roof dragging me with him. This time I let out a scream at how fast he went and the drop. Dalton's skin teared as he shifted. When Dalton hit the ground, it was his wolf form with me on it holding him carefully with my good wrist and adjusting my leg. Dalton took off at a run towards the run.
It was sorta like Nico but slower. Still made me sick to the stomach. This never happened when I rode a horse but wolf-back is defiantly different. Dalton shook his head as he lurched forward. I gripped Dalton's fur tightly. It was sorta fun being on a wolf but it made me sick when I got off. I kept on readjusting my wrist and arm.
Soon we arrived in front of the stream. Dalton laid down and let me get off. I threw the shorts at Dalton. Soon there was a hand on my shoulder. Dalton walked in front of me. "Happy now?" Dalton asked. I shook my head. "What then?" Dalton asked. I pointed at the river. "That blue rock, can you get it for me, please?" I asked. Dalton sighed but started trudging into the stream.
Dalton bent down to pick up the rock. I had a great view but I'd never admit it. Dalton stood back up and walked out holding the shining rock. He handed it to me. I looked closer at it. On one side a clock design was carved in. The time on the clock carved in was 11:00. It looked pretty cool though. "Thank you." I said smiling at Dalton. Dalton smiled at me shaking his wet tips.
The rock wasn't big, but it wasn't small. "I want to make it a necklace." I blurted out. Dalton nodded at me. "I'll get my cousin Lily to work on it, she's in college for Cheer and Jewelry." Dalton said tossing aside his bangs. I handed him the rock.
"The fishes in there are cute." I commented looking at the rainbow trout that raced by me. Dalton nodded at me. "Further in the forest there's a pond, in the summer I go and swim there, maybe we can go swim there with my family one day." Dalton suggested. I shrugged. "I don't know how to swim." I said. "Andrew will probably teach you to, sometimes I wonder if he's hiding a tail." Dalton said.

"Its sorta weird." I said. "What?" Dalton asked. "You and Andrew, your identical, you even dress like each other but your personalities are so different, your sweet but have this dominant side to you, plus your the football captain and all sporty and can get bossy then you have Andrew who's sarcastic, funny, a huge pranker, he can be bossy at some times." I said. "Plus you say I'm your mate then Andrew appears." I added.
"You don't have a crush on my brother right cause I don't want to do fratricide." Dalton said. "No of course not, I think Orchid has a crush on him but then there's her coven who want her to get a warlock mate." I said. Dalton growled at that part. "Andrew is Orchid's mate isn't he?" I asked. "Don't tell Orchid about this." Dalton said. I nodded. Orchid already knows anyway and is so conflicted.
"The Organization isn't pressuring you into any marriage right?" Dalton asked. "Nope, they could careless who we get it on with, they just want more hunters and a safer world." I answered. Dalton let out a breath of relief. "I wouldn't do it anyway, also they'd be to scared that me, Derik, and Lucas." I said. "Who's Lucas?" Dalton asked. "Lilith's vessel." I said. "What do all the guy's have girl vessels and girl's have guy vessels?" Dalton asked. I shook my head. "I'm the only girl vessel, no one knows why though." I answered.
Dalton nodded at that. "What do you think you'd be like if you weren't Satan's vessel?" Dalton asked. "I know my family would be alive, we might of not met, I don't really question that a lot." I answered. "Do you ever wish that you weren't Satan's vessel?" Dalton asked. I shook my head. "Satan was there when no one was, he's always there, he helped me be who I am to." I said.
Dalton smiled at me. "Tell Satan thank you for me, I like who you are." Dalton said. Satan's presence left. But if I needed him he'd come back.
I looked over at the trees. Right then I saw a tuft of ginger hair. "Someone's here." I whispered. I started limping over. "Hey come out, we won't hurt you I promise." I called out. Nothing came out or even made a sound. "This is Dalton Ashford and I'm Isabella Knight." I called out. This time I did get a answer. The sounds of skin ripping and bones cracking. I limped as fast as I can to the spot. Just as I did I saw a huge black wolf taking off.
"Take my shorts and I'll go catch them?" Dalton said getting ready to take his shorts. I shook my head. "They'll just run even further." I answered. "Plus it was probably that creep Storm trying to kill me or get information on us." I said. Dalton nodded as we turned around. "Lets go back before they notice we're gone." I said. Dalton nodded and handed me the rock and his shorts. Daltons skin began ripping and his bones reconstructing.
Dalton stood there in his wolf glory. Dalton laid down and waited for me to get on top of him. I shifted my wait onto him and got on. Dalton then took off with me on him.
In another part of the forest the black wolf was running to another black wolf. The wolf stopped in front the other ones. Bones cracked as they shifted into their human forms. The boys both stared at each other. "So is it her, or is he telling the truth?" The other guy asked.
The ginger nodded at the other guy. "It was her, I remember her scent, not sure how, but I wouldn't be able to forget that, plus no one could get Isabella's scent." The ginger answered. "Did she become the vessel." The other one asked. Ginger nodded. "We need to get her back, I think there holding her captive, forget what Storm said he's a liar." Ginger said. "We need to plan to get her back." The other guy said.
The ginger looked at the direction of the mansion. "No worries Isabella we'll get you back, then we can help you forget the past." The ginger said. Then they both started shifting and ran to their hideout to plan. Mission rescue Isabella was going into action.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
