《Satan's Assassin》:Chapter 44:

Satan. Where am I. "Is she waking up?" Dalton questioned. Dalton. He tried saving me. He didn't leave like a normal person would. It was just like brothers, he was gonna die for me. I hate it, I don't like being responsible for people's death.
I forced my eyes open taking in my surroundings. I was in the Ashford's kitchen. My leg and wrist felt like hell had run it over. Orchid was looming over me like that creepy stalker. I bit back a loud scream. "Your alive." Orchid said happily. "Yeah, and never had it hurt so much before." I muttered pushing myself up.
When I went to stand up, I fell right down. Arms encircled my waist and picked me up. Opening my eyes, I looked into Dalton's crystal blue ones. The only ones in the kitchen were Orchid and Dalton. Dalton was only in a pair of blue basketball shorts. Burns covered his body. Guilt rushed through my body.
"Well I'm going to get going and drop your car off at your house." Orchid said exiting the room. Orchid just abandoned me with Dalton. I could practically feel his gaze burning into me. "I kept the promise and didn't die." Dalton managed out. I simply smiled at him as he put me on a chair.
"My leg and wrist hurts." I complained. "Gavial broke them when he tried mating himself to you." Dalton explained readjusting my sling. I nodded. The fight was blurry but I remembered somethings. "Derik's a werewolf." I stated. "Yeah, he got his memory back." Dalton explained. I grabbed the necklace around my neck and looked at it. The bullet on it was gone. I killed Gavial with it.
"Where did you get the bullet from?" Dalton asked. "It was on my necklace, my Mom gave me this necklace, the bullet was ancient and handcrafted." I said pushing the cord back into my shirt. "Why did you use it if it was so important?" Dalton asked tilting his head in confusion. "You and Derik's lives are more important then some bullet." I answered blowing hair from my face.
Dalton grinned at me in a weird way. "So you do have a soft side." Dalton cooed. I simply rolled my eyes at Dalton. "Yeah in life or death situations." I said offering Dalton a victory smirk. "Where you always like this?" Dalton asked. "Yup." I answered.
Dalton then offered me an award winning smile. "I like you when yourself, don't ever change for anyone." Dalton said. "This the you, I feel in love with." Dalton whispered hoping I wouldn't hear but I did.

Dalton just keeps on making it worse to not like him. "What's that other necklace around your neck?" Dalton asked staring at my neck. I looked down at my neck at what Dalton was talking about. The wolf amulet Daniella had given to me. I looked back at Dalton and simply offered a smile. Dalton leaned forward and grabbed the chain and brought it out and examined it. Dalton's mouth twitched up in a smile when he saw it.
"It looks good on you." Dalton said letting go of it. "Keep it out of your shirt it looks better like that." Dalton said offering me a smile. I looked down at the wolf and blue gem. Never really understood jewelry and why it looks good on people. "What does this even mean?" I asked. Dalton offered me a small smile. "Are you sure you want to know?" Dalton asked raising his eyebrow. I nodded.
"The wolf represents the Alpha of the pack and the gem represents the Luna of the pack," Dalton started tossing his hair aside. "Go on." I said. "The amulet represents the power of an Alpha and Luna, their more beautiful together, their faster, their bigger, and their stronger." Dalton said. It took a few minutes for it to settle in.
I was wearing a werewolf necklace. "Take it off." I said trying to it get off. Dalton grabbed my hands and put them down. "My Mom obviously believes and trusts in you to give you that ancient necklace, that the first Luna of this pack had." Dalton said. "We have a few ancient things, I have ring created by the original Alpha." Dalton said showing me a wooden ring. I nodded.
"I looked up your family." Dalton said. I froze at that. "You are from one of the first hunter families that go back to the Salem times." Dalton said. "I know, I did all that research when I was little." I said attempting to push my hair back. Dalton leaned forward and pushed it back for me. "Do you remember what Gavial said to you?" Dalton asked. I shook my head.
I know he warned me, just can't remember what he said. "He told you they would come for you." Dalton said cracking his knuckles. I nodded. "So where is everyone?" I asked. "Living room." Dalton answered. "Guess I should let them see you." Dalton said. I nodded. Dalton grabbed my arm and helped me up. I began limping towards the living room. The minute I was in the doorway, I was attacked.

Andrew was clinging to me like a puppy deprived of love. "Don't you ever die, if you die, I have no pranking partner and when your around people leave me alone, if you die I'll resurrect you." Andrew said very quickly. I laughed at Andrew. I don't think anyone has ever seen him like this. Nico met my gaze and he smiled at me.
Then he jumped over the couch and hugged me. "Damn, must you hug so tight." I said as Nico squeezed me into nothing practically. Werewolves get super emotional obviously. Rory simply smiled at me. Most of Dalton's brothers scared me except the two clinging to me. Alana had ripped them off of me and was hugging me. Next thing I know Alana was hugging me which resulted in her picking me up.
Kadan laughed at us. 'See you have people that care about you.' "You looked so peaceful when you were unconscious but I like you when your awake better." Alana said putting me down carefully. "That was fun." I said. "Your like one of those rides at six flags." I said with a slight smirk. Alana simply smiled me.
My gaze landed on Derik who stood against the wall awkwardly. Surprisingly Kayla wasn't with him. I felt bad for Derik, he just found out he was what he killed. I limped towards Derik and stood against the wall with him as everyone talked. "So Derik what's it like being a werewolf?" I asked. "I remember it." Derik said. I looked at him confused.
"Our parents died the same way, killed by rogues because they tried protecting us, my siblings did the same to, but we both had different reasons why rogues wanted us dead." Derik said in an emotionless voice. "Why did they go after you?" I asked. "I'm a full blooded Redwolf." Derik said. "I'm Satan's vessel." I said. Derik looked at me and sighed. "We shouldn't blame ourselves for our parents death." Derik said. I guess I still had guilt from the attack. "Is this why we're such good friend?" I asked.
Derik nodded tossing aside his auburn bangs. "Your not gonna quit being a hunter right?" I asked Derik. "Of course not, I'm not letting you beat me in the rankings." Derik said smirking down at me. I raised an eyebrow at that. "I killed a ancient hellhound." I said. "With my wolf's help." Derik said smirking. "What's your wolf's name anyway?" I asked. "Aki, it means shining." Derik said. "You do shine weirdly." I said with a smirk. Derik lightly punched my good arm.
"I'm only minor burned, it'll heal in a few days, you got the worse of it." Derik said practically reading my mind. I nodded examining my injuries. I had a few burns but not to bad. "Dalton has a lot of burns." I commented. "He wasn't thinking when he was fighting Gavial, there was only one thought in his head and that was to protect you." Derik said looking at me with his dark brown eyes.
"You really should consider him one day." Derik said. "He deserves someone better than me." I said. "Your awesome Isabella, your pretty, funny, cute, fun, and have an awesome personality, what else would Dalton want. "A werewolf for a mate." I said. "Stop taking me and Kayla's story into yours, this is your book, not mine." Derik said.
"Its still weird." I said. "I know." Derik said agreeing. "I feel left out, your a werewolf and Orchid's a witch." I said pouting. "Your Satan's vessel and have his power." Derik said with a grin. "Derik I swear if you die I die." I said high fiving him. Right then Kayla walked up to me and offered a smile. "Your lucky, Derik is funny and adorable." I said with a grin. "Thanks for talking to me about him." Kayla said. I simply nodded.
"Wait you two talked about me?" Derik asked. "Just for her to convince me to ask you out, I was scared you'd reject me for the way I was." Kayla said looking down. Derik simply hugged Kayla tightly. "I love you for you." Derik said. Derik then smirked at me. I shook my head. I swear Derik's bipolar sometimes.
"Isabella." Dalton called out. I limped over to him. Nico was beside him. "We have to turn in the quilt in four days." Nico said reminding me. "Thanks, I only have one piece of it left." I said happily. "Can I show you something cool?" Dalton asked hopefully. "Sure, as long as it isn't perverted or I will set some demon on you." I said. Derik nodded. Then he started dragging me away. Let's see what this is.
