When the last note echos throughout the room from the piano, my mouth closes with my eyes opening. At the corner of my eyes, I can see Kafe smirking as he stares at me with the same eyes he's always had stared at me with.

Respect.

Placing my hands off the keys, I stand up and turn to face the class. Their faces were priceless making me smirk. I never get used to when people underestimate me.

Shock. Awe. Speechless.

And the same can goes with the teacher as his mouth gaps open with his eyes wide in full shock.

"Well, am I fit for your standings, Mr Denver?" I ask with the smirk.

He continues to stare at me but breaks his daze as he clears his throat, "I see why you've got a scholarship now. Pardon my rudeness."

I just nod and head to my desk without another single word. Passing Kafe's desk, I secretly let my hand out which he gladly slaps back as a high five before I take my seat.

The teacher begins the class again never calling out my name again despite him clearly seeing that I'm not paying attention. Predicting he won't be calling out my name out anytime soon now, or even the whole school year, I snicker quietly to myself.

I look out to the window to find a group of students beside the fountain, a few stepping on the rim of it as they all face the teacher in front of them. Watching the students outside singing accordingly to the teacher in front of them, I watch attentively. My eyes scan the group estimating it around 12 teens. 8 boys and 4 girls. They were arranged into 7 tall boys at the back and the rest in a line in front of them creating two lines.

One of the boys at the back row looks up to find me watching which he responds with a smile and a wave of his hand getting me to raise an eyebrow. He has messy medium white hair that reaches down to his collarbone and golden-like eyes. Before he could continue waving to me, he gets elbowed by the boy beside him. His attention goes back to the teacher as I also do the same not wanting to attract more attention to myself.

Looking at Kafe, I see him paying attention to the teacher attentively getting me to smile before quietly rummaging through my bag to take out a cute notebook with cute animal designs on it. It was a present. Normally, I wouldn't bring out something cute in public, but since it's a present from a friend on my junior high graduation, I don't mind breaking my rules.

Opening it up, I find pencil-marked music notes everywhere with sticky notes around the pages. Flipping closely to the back of the book, I stop to a half completed music sheet. Taking out a pencil, I start sketching music notes in the lines as I continue to hum the melody inside my head without disturbing anyone. It was a way for me to pass my boredom as music never gets me bored, in honesty.

Time passes as I get hook into writing my music straying from what is happening around my surroundings until a light slap hits the back of my head.

Groaning from the pain, I look up with a twitching eye to find Kafe standing beside my desk while staring down at me in disbelief.

"I can't believe you're didn't notice my presence until I had to slap you to get your attention." Kafe shakes his head getting a tongue to stick out at him.

Straightening myself up, I try to look high-class, "You see, I was trying to create my beautiful music until you interrupted moi. If you'll pardon me now, I'll be going back to my place of zen. If you don't know what 'zen' is, it's peace and quiet, in summary."

Kafe lets out a loud laugh getting a few passing students to look our way.

"Ok, Princess. I shall not bother you and will be on my way now." He tries to reply in a British voice getting me to giggle behind my hand.

"Much is appreciated." I reply getting back into my act but turn back to my normal self as I close my notebook, "Your British voice it horrible."

"Hurt!"

"Anyways, what do we have next?"

"What do you have next. Remember, we only have one class together. And it's this class. Homeroom with 'Basics of Music'."

"Argh! I forgot!" I groan before packing my belongings, "I'm going to hate school now since I can't be in the same classes as you."

He chuckles, "Don't be like that, we'll see each other at lunch. Don't cause too much trouble in class, like you did back in Hoshi Junior High School!"

"Oh, be quiet! You know those were all accidents!" I huff remembering my first day during my transfer in my graduated school.

He just laughs before we both head off to our own classes. A pout lies on my face the whole time as I walk down the hall.

Sighing, I look at my schedule.

Homeroom - Mr Denver

Basics of Music - Mr Denver

Choir Chorus - Mr Edison

History of Music AP - Mr Hendricks

Science AP - Mr Jensen

Language Arts AP - Mr Colbert

Lunch

Math AP - Mr Teach

Music Band - Mr Prologue

Social AP - Mr Hendricks

Music Instruments - Mr Overt

Choir Chorus - Mr Edison

Sighing at my courses, I run my fingers through my hair.

This is going to be a drag.

Since my grades in my junior high school were all high, they placed me into more advanced classes. In my Hoshi Junior High, I wasn't in any of the advanced classes since I refused and wanted to stay with my friends in the standard ones. But since this school doesn't give out that much freedom, I am forced to attend these classes.

Looking at my map, I start heading to my next class which was Choir Chorus.

When I was looking at the brochure, I find out Choir Chorus was a small group of students who are very talented in singing and go out to international competitions every year. And they placed me in it. Great.

Why? I have no idea. I may be a bit higher level in singing than other people, but it doesn't mean I am amazing. And I don't mean to brag. But after having torturous lessons about my attitude, given to me when I was a kid, I was forced to think that I'm higher than others. Looks like it's still in my system despite me despising it so much after escaping for so long.

Walking down the hall, I past the backyard garden which still contains the students from earlier this morning which I saw outside the window. Confused, I just shrug and ignore it while trying to get to my next location.

"Ah! Excuse me, girl over there walking!" A voice shouts getting me to scrunch my eyebrows and look behind me wondering if the voice was asking for me.

There, a messy dirty blond hair man with sparkling blue eyes was smiling at me.

He was waving towards me as the students he was teaching turn my way. The white hair boy I saw before brightens up when he sees me and finally able to wave to me. Looking around to find no one walking down the hall like me, I start walking towards the teacher.

"Yes?" I ask tilting my head to the side.

"May I ask why are you walking down this hallway?" He asks happily getting me to look at him confused.

He's just like a fluff of cotton candy smiling so happily.

"My class is over there." I answer while pointing my thumb behind me.

Now it was him being confused, "Which class are you in?"

"Chorus Choir." I answer only to get gasps and shocked looks from the students beside me.

"Ah! You must be Octave Reiner then!" The man's face brightens up really happily.

"That's correct." I answer brushing my bangs out of my eyes.

"Well, the class you're looking for is right here! My name is John Edison, but you may call me by Mr Edison or Eddy." He smiles, "It's nice to have you join our Chorus Choir!"

"Thanks." I reply pursing my lips together trying to give off a small smile.

He gestures me to stand at the front line at the right end in front of the white hair boy. Heading over there, I stand quietly while Mr Edison starts looking through his book giving time for the white hair boy to pat my shoulder. Looking behind me to find those golden eyes, he smiles at me.

"Hey! I'm Shiro Peterson! Nice to meet you!" He introduces with his bright smile.

"Octave. Octave Reiner." I reply before leaning back and asking, "May I ask why is everyone staring at me?"

"Huh? You don't know? You're the first 1st year that has ever joined Chorus Choir. You have to be at your second year or third year to join. But it looks like they made an exception for you!" He smiles even wider once again.

"Oh, I see." I reply before looking back to the front.

Mr Edison somehow magically got another stand and places it in front of me. Placing a book on it as he adjusts it to my height, he smiles at me before explaining.

"Our class is simple. We start with exercising our vocals before singing songs that I see fit as practices for our competitions, okay? Ready everyone? One, two, three." He shouts to the whole class getting them to sing the C major before going higher and higher while Mr Edison constructs.

"Now, we'll start singing songs. If you have any questions, just ask right ahead!" He smiles getting only a nod from me before he heads back to his stand.

Looking down at mine, I scan through the songs before giving a quiet sigh.

Can't turn back now.
