《Supernatural High》Chapter 3

The smell of coffee, bacon, and pancakes woke me up the next morning.
I rolled out of bed, unplugged my phone and charger, and stuffed the charger in one of my bags.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and went down to the kitchen where I found my mom cooking piles of pancakes, bacon, and brewing coffee. My favorite, and expensive, creamer was sitting on the counter beside a large mug, and I smiled.
"Good morning, mom," I gave her a kiss on the cheek and poured some coffee in my mug. I added some creamer and sugar and piled a plate full of pancakes. I used a separate plate for my bacon. I drowned my pancakes in syrup and dug in.
A little bit later, mom joined me and ate a few pancakes, also drowning in syrup.
"Good morning, sweetheart. Are you all packed?" She had a smile on her face, but I could see the sadness in her eyes. She didn't want me to go.
"Yeah, I'm packed. I just need to get dressed."
"You know, I'm going to miss you like hell," she said after a moment and a tear slid down her cheek.
"I'm going to miss you too. You can always visit though, right?"
"Yes, of course! I will visit as much as I can. I'll call too!," a genuine smile graced her lips and I smiled.
I decided to wear a pair of dark skinny jeans, a dark red t-shirt, and my favorite pair of Vans shoes. I made sure to have a hair tie in my pocket, like usual, and grabbed my leather jacket. There was no way I would be leaving it here at home.
I slug the duffle bag over my shoulder, made sure I had my wallet (just incase), and my phone, and took my bags downstairs. I left them by the front door, and waited for the car with my mom.

At exactly 9 am, a car horn sounded from outside and I sighed sadly.
We stood up, walked to the door grabbing my bags, and she walked me to the black car waiting for me. A tall, skinny, man wearing dress pants, a white button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, and a loose black tie, was waiting for us beside the car. He had black dress shoes on, and his sandy blonde hair was combed back. He took my bags from me, putting them in the trunk, and waited in the driver's seat.
I turned towards my mom, who was crying, and pulled her into a hug.
"I love you so much," she sniffled.
"I love you too," I kissed the top of her head and released her.
"Let me know when you get there, okay?"
I nodded and told her goodbye before getting in the car.
I wiped away the tears that were threatening to spill and put on my seatbelt. He began driving in silence and I looked out the window as we drove further and further away from my home.
I knew we were arriving when everything around the car looked really strange, like we were going through a portal or something.
"It's just the barrier around the school. You will get used to it over time," the driver explained.
I would have replied, but I was speechless at the sight of the school. It was huge! It basically looked like a castle or something that they turned into a school. There were students outside the large wooden main doors sitting against trees with their friends, some of them watched the car as we approached.
The driver parked in a parking lot near the front doors and took my bags out of the car as I got out. I took my bags from him and he led me inside.

I could feel the other students looking at me, but I kept my head down as I followed.
After the doors was a huge open area that led to other areas of the school. The floor looked like it was made out of marble and the cream colored walls led to a high ceiling with a mural on it. I didn't have time to really look at it, but it was beautiful. Sconces lined the walls and there were quite a few paintings of people I assumed were important in the supernatural history.
I followed the man down a hallway to the right and up some stairs. We stopped in front of another wooden set of doors and knocked. I noticed beside the doors was a sign made out of stone saying "Headmaster's Office" in big black letters.
"Come in," a woman's voice sounded from the other side. My driver opened the door and we walked inside.
"Hello, ma'am. This is the boy you asked me to pick up," he gestured towards me and she stood up and walked towards me.
She was taller than me by at least three or four inches, had long wavy brown brown hair that reached her waist, and piercing purple eyes. She gave me a smile and held out her hand to me.
"Hello, Kit. I am Headmaster Serenity Black. You may call me Headmaster Black," I shook her small pale hand and we sat down. "I know this is all very new to you and I'm sure you are probably scared. I want you to know that we have taken care of everything. You are safe here and you have nothing to worry about," she began and flashed me a sympathetic smile.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, Kit. Now to get down to business, you are sharing a room with Logan Graham. He is also an incubus. I thought it would be a good idea to room you with him so if you had any questions, he could answer them for you. Once we are done here, he will give you a tour of the school," she started. "First, lets start with your class schedule and the rules we have here."
I nodded and she pulled out a folder that had a map of the school and grounds, my class schedule, and a few other papers.
