Someone's been a stupid ho.
That someone was me.
I was awake and I could feel solid ground beneath me but I was just too scared to move. I had already made a stupid decision and I was pretty sure I got kidnapped. Shit. Who was going to call my mum and tell her I was gone? Was it Ryan? Because once Ryan starts sniffling, mom would too and then it would turn to the battle of the tears between the two of them.
What had I been thinking? I hoped my Chinese was alright and someone who needed it found it and ate. I've had my eyes closed for so long and now I just wanted to open it and see where I was.
Should I?
Or should I not?
I've already made the worst decision ever. It certainly couldn't be worse than being beat with the butt of a gun and kidnapped. I finally decided to open my eyes, taking a deep breath and counting to three before finally doing it.
The first thing I noticed was the ceiling, it was white and there was a tiny light up there. Scratch that there were tiny lights in the ceiling.
And also there was no bed in the room, no toilets, just a large brown door that looked intimidating even though it was an inanimate object. I got in my feet and walked around the room, feeling the walls.
I wondered where I was. If they were coming to get me? If I was going to be killed? Or locked up or even worse, eaten? There are cannibals in the world. I'd be used in soup. I hate soups.
I let out a groan and rested my head against the wall, trying not to freak out when suddenly the door was pushed open and two men in suits walked in but the one that captured my entire attention was the one in front, two hands in the pocket, looking like he just walked out of a photo shoot. His hair was styled off his face with the sides shaved low, green green eyes that made breathing hard.
"I see you're awake." The man said, his voice wonderfully the perfect mix of deep and soft, authority behind it.
"Ta da." I said before I could stop myself. Oh god. This wasn't going to end well. What if this man was the leader of the other man who had beaten him with a gun? Holy ...
The man's lips quirked you a bit at the side and I don't even know what to do with that new bit of information. However, first things first.
"Can I go home now? Please? I've got a cat." I said and the other man shook his head at me. "Alright I don't have a cat but let me go, please."
"You can go home." Was all the man said. His bodyguard moved to open the door. I stared at the man and then at the door.
"What?"
"It was a mistake and the idiot who tried to take you has been dealt with. The audacity he had to knock you out and then bring you here..." The man was saying and I was listening, truly I was but that voice. I had heard that voice somewhere.

"And you're not going to kill me?"
"I can call you an Uber? Or you could call yourself an Uber using your phone." The man said, pulling out my phone from his pocket. He stretched his hand out towards me and I take it.
What the hell was going on? This doesn't happen in the movies?
Shit. This wasn't a movie. It was real life and I was being told to go.
"I promise I won't say anything to the cops."
"I frankly don't care if you do." The man said with a shrug and wow, the authority this man has. I unlocked my phone and pulled up the app.
"Wait, why should I call an Uber? What address should I give? Can I just walk home instead? I won't look back, I promise."
"I figured you wouldn't be comfortable if I made one of my men drive you home. The address to this place is, 14 Dannington Estate."
Yeah. Him making one of his minions drive me home was not the best idea. Then they'd know where I leave and a bunch of other things. Actually, how do I even know they don't know everything about me? Anyway, I didn't need to worry. I am probably only going to tell Ryan and that's it. Sometimes it's great having one friend and then it's even greater when that friend is antisocial but likes to believe he isn't.
I quickly tapped the address onto the app and immediately got a driver who was ten minutes out.
"You're not going to ask for my name?" The man asked me, raising a brow.
"Nope."
"You don't know who I am then?"
"Obviously not the president of the country." I blurted out, slapping my hand over my mouth afterwards. This time both the man and his guard chuckled. Do I count this as a win? What is wrong with me?
My stomach made a loud growling sound and I looked at it, rubbing a hand against it. Poor tummy. It was promised Chinese food.
"We can get you something to take with you." The man said and I shook my head. This has to be a parallel universe because no kidnapper was this nice.
"No thank you, I've got some food at home." I said and it was true I do have some rice left in my rice cooker and a small remnant of chicken sauce. Maybe I'll get Chinese tomorrow. "I... I'm going to go now."
"J, will show you the way out." The man said and that was all I needed to hear. I walked out of the room and my jaw dropped at the size of the hallway. I was led down spiral stairs, chandelier hanging from the ceiling, everything in the house looked expensive.
When we stepped out of the house and onto the driveway where there was a big water fountain, I decided to just turn around and see. Damn, that house was big. So big. How many people lived there?
"You said you weren't going to look back." J said, his voice startling a loud yell out of me. He speaks!!!

"Can you blame me?" I asked, gesturing back to the house.
Thankfully the Uber was waiting at the gates. I made sure the car plate was the same showing up on my phone before going into the car. Should I wave to J? How is this my life?
The car ride home, I spent it with my head resting against the window. According to the time and calendar on my phone, I had been taken for just a couple hours. It was almost four am.
And I had to go to work in a few hours. I honestly hoped that Moy doesn't call me to his office because I might not be able to hold back some choice words.
I dragged myself up my apartment building, thankfully my key was still in my pocket. I don't even have enough strength to eat, once I fell onto my bed and my eyes just fall close.
-
I jerked up to the sound of my alarm going off. My eyelids felt too heavy and I just didn't want to move. I could call in sick.
I could but what the hell would I be doing all day? On the other hand, I could catch up with some of my series. I have too much to series and movies I had to catch up with and at least there wouldn't be Moy here.
So after deciding, I reached over and took my phone. I made a quick call to my supervisor and HR, letting them know that I won't be able to make it and to make things even better, I didn't even need to do a fake voice. Mine was coming off as groggy and croaky.
Shit. I need coffee.
I also needed to swear less.
Maybe...
Maybe I could color today. Just paint over a couple princess drawings. I could do that myself and -
I shook my head and looked up at the ceiling. I could hear the man's voice loud and clear in my head and It irritated me to know I couldn't place his voice. Maybe I hold have asked for his name?
I sighed.
I got out of bed, dragging myself over to the bathroom, brushed and took a quick shower. There was still rice, so I quickly heated it up and put some of the chicken sauce in the microwave.
With my food done, I settled in front of my laptop, quickly sending off a text message to Ryan, letting him know that i wouldn't be able to make it.
First things first, I caught up in some episodes of Legacies and I still believe if Klaus was alive he'd give Hope a good talking to or scare. She annoys me so much.
The rice was gone and I sipped my Mountain Dew Slowly, savoring the taste. I was about to watch some episodes of when I met your mother when it suddenly hit me.
The recognition.
Where I had heard that voice before.
He was Zoro. The man in the expensive looking suit was my Zoro. I was so stunned by the sudden recognition that I got out of bed and onto my feet. I began pacing.
No.
That can't be right?
That isn't possible.
Shit. Shit. Shit. I quickly reached for my phone and hit the speed dial for Ryan who picks after two rings.
"I don't wanna talk to you. You're abandoning m-"
"I got kidnapped last night."
"What the fuck, Bram?!"
"Yeah. I thought someone was about to be robbed and kinda jumped in. I got hit in the head, taken to his boss. I woke up in this room and I met this guy-"
"What? What??? Are you okay? Are you alright? Have you called the cops?" Ryan asked. He was firing one question after the other but I needed him to know.
"And the guy let me go. I even used a Uber home and everything but I just realized where I knew the man from. He was Zoro!"
"Zoro from the party?"
"Yes!"
"So you met your Zoro again, only this time there's guns involved and he's the boss." Ryan said slowly like he was talking to a kid.
"I found him!"
"Describe him for me." Ryan said and I did. "The next time you get kidnapped report it to the cops. We could go after work or right now. Fuck work, you need me."
"I'm good, I swear. I also kinda promised them I wouldn't go to the cops and Zoro said the cops wouldn't be able to do anything."
"Who exactly is this Zoro guy?"
"I don't know but I'm coming over. We'll talk more. Don't move, I'll come with food." Ryan said and promptly hung up. I wanted to wait for Ryan but I had Zoro's address, I could just go over there and talk to him.
Fuck. This insane.
I could actually go over there but I also had the feeling that if I did much as I touch my door knob, Ryan was going to bitch slap me so hard I'll see stars. I could wait. I could think this through and tomorrow, if I still feel and want to go over to the house, I would.
So instead I waited and mulled things over, Shrek playing in the background. Yeah. I would go over tomorrow, after work and maybe I'll take Ryan with me just to be in the safe side.
I... finally found him. The man who has been in my head, who i had the best New Year's Eve and day with. I had found him again and there's the question of should I or should I not?
I just didn't want to make another stupid decision. What do I do?

8 209The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
