《Release Me》Chapter 36

**********************************************************************************
The sun set about three hours ago in New York City. Darkness has covered the whole city making it feel eerie which was opposite of what I am supposed to feel. I was supposed to feel happy and joyful that I would meet my brother and I was. I was happy that I could finally see and touch someone that I know is someone I can call mine.
Mike lead us to an old worn out looking shed a few miles away from the city. We were basically in the middle of nowhere with only a few trees. The door to the shed squeaked open as we entered the building.
"Why the fucking hell would you meet him up here?" Asher grumbles.
When Mike didn't reply I look at him and noticed that he looked a bit nervous. Actually, he was shivering like crazy and he usually does that when he was regretting something he had done. Kind of like the night of the party but worse.
"Mike...." I say.
"I am sorry Thea. I really am I didn't-"
"Mike, where's my brother?" I asked sternly.
"Oh don't you know Thea? He's dead." A voice so familiar boomed through the shed.
We all turn back and see my dead father come out of the shadows.
"And you killed him," he said directly staring at me.
My mouth fell open. He knew who I was?
"Yes, Thea I know who you are but situations made out first encounter slightly different but first I would like you to meet someone."
Mike stepped out of the group and walked towards my father. "You know, you have a horrible test in choosing loyal friends."
I started at Mike.
"You bastard! You set us up!!" Raph roared.
"Jake," I whispered.
"Is dead and he will never be coming back Thea because you killed him!" My father yelled.
I didn't kill him. Did I?
"You're a fraud just like your mother!!! You killed my son!!"
I stared at him in confusion.
Again he laughed. He started walking towards me but I stayed where I was.

"Do you truly know how your mother died that night?" He asked.
"Car accident," I said not completely sure of myself.
"Wrong Thea," He leaned in closer to my ear. "I did."
My eyes shot up to meet his crooked smile.
"See your mother had a problem of keeping secrets especially when it came to the Plans. I knew she didn't destroy them but she never told me where they were. So I took matters into my own hands and I found out myself." He said while walking back to where Mike was standing.
"Let's just say that the way I asked wasn't so nice. However, her last words to me were a lie. The plans weren't there and I couldn't go back cause every time I looked at you I saw her disgusting face. The only sacrifice I had to make was to leave my only child that you killed," he spat.
My head was spinning around and everything seemed to be in a blur.
Only child?
Wasn't I his child?
"How could you?" I croaked out.
"She cheated on me! That bitch cheated on me!"
I took a step back and Caleb held me up from falling which I was pretty close to doing.
"No, she-"
"YOU'RE NOT MY CHILD!!! YOUR NOT MY BLOOD AND YOU NEVER WERE!!!!"
His voice shook the whole shed and my heart dropped. I held my head with my hands to make the world stop breaking apart. Everything I ever knew and held dear to was falling into pieces and shattering against the floor.
"The only reason why I didn't kill you years ago was because I knew you were the key but thanks to Mike I finally know the last clue."
I look at him no with anger and hatred but will a broken heart that couldn't be damaged anymore.
Friends will turn into enemies.
Heartbreak and secrets revealed.
I now know what my mother was trying to say.
"You were the one working with Black," Asher spat.

He just smirked and looked at me.
"You have no use to me, Thea."
He raised his gun and fired but I didn't move from my spot. I couldn't move because I wanted this pain to end and I wanted to just give up. As the bullet went through the air a pair of arms wrapped around me and pushed me to the side. A scream filled the air and a body dropped down next to me. More gunshots go around the shed but I stare at the person laying next to me.
Caleb laid down next to me with blood spreading through his stomach. I quickly get up and put his head in my lap.
"Caleb," I whispered as tears run through my face.
He gave me a soft smile and I broke into more tears.
"Why?"
"Because, your family."
Slowly his eyes close but he was still breathing very slowly.
"Death never seems to escape you, Thea."
I can feel the man holding a gun to my forehead but I didn't mind him. I bent down and kissed Caleb's cheek. I rested his head on the floor and look up at him finally. Taking him by surprise I grab the gun from him and push him to the ground.
Men dressed in black raced in and started shooting at us. The boys were trying to fight off the men but more kept on coming in. There was no sign of Mike anywhere and I was somehow thankful that I didn't have to see an another person that betrayed me.
I land a punch on the man and push him to the wall making him groan in pain.
Mom.
I grab him by the neck and slam his face into the wall. He stumbles and I double kick his stomach.
Jake.
He falls over and I kick his face. I grab his arm and twist them behind him until I heard him scream in pain.
Caleb.
I let go of him and he landed on the ground. Even though I might have broken way more than a few bones in his body he starts to laugh and cough up blood.
"Look around you Thea. Do you really think you're winning?"
Caleb was still on the floor breathing but still bleeding and unconscious. Raph was trying to fight off as many people as he could but he looked bruised and tired. Leo was cornered by a bunch of men and had blood coming from his leg. Asher was trying to fight off as well but he had an open deep wound on his arm and chest.
Then I heard sirens.
"It's over Thea. Its all over."
The sirens were coming closer and more men were filling in the shed. Raph fell to the ground wounded and tired. Soon Leo and Asher followed him.
It was over.
Black had the plans.
Caleb was dying and so were the rest of the boys.
The police have found me.
It was all over.
"Thea!! RUN!!!" Asher yelled at me.
I look at him with a confused expression. I couldn't leave them here?
"RUN THEA! RUN!"
I slowly start walking backward.
"There's nowhere to run," the man said as he lunged for me but Asher tackled him to the ground and punched him.
Taking that as a sign for me to leave. I turn backward and start running out the shed. It was pouring rain as I ran through the deserted place we were in. Once I was a mile away from the shed colorful lights shined through my eyes making me squint. Police cars came in all different directions and they circled me making me have no where to go. Cops came out and one of them tackled me to the floor. He cuffed my hands behind my back and pulled me up.
"Thea Woods you are under arrest for the murder and attempted murder of Jake Woods, Claudia Wilson, and Emma Henson."
Everything seemed to fall in place yet they were falling apart at the same time.
"You have the right to remain silent. If you do say anything, what you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to consult with a lawyer and have that lawyer present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you if you so desire."
It was over.
