Emilia.
Sitting on the bed, I hear arguing happening downstairs. Throwing on a pair of soffee shorts over Aiden's T-Shirt. I creep down, treading carefully so I can hear what's going on.
Ricky, Howard, and Aiden are in a heated discussion in the open living room, Leo sits on a barstool nearby watching the men talk but not engaging in the discussion.
Aiden's voice is the first thing I hear audibly, "I don't think anyone in this house can say what I can and can't do." I can see him running a hand through his hair. "except for Emilia." He adds, which makes me smile.
"Aiden." That's Ricky, "I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I just don't know if it's safe."
Howard shakes his head, "I have to agree with Mr. Scott, sorry Ricky but and as head of his security I have to say it will come with its risk, but she will be safe."
Indistinctive words jumble through the open area, I walk further down and when the men notice me, they quiet themselves. "What's going on?" I ask, looking between their suddenly quiet faces.
"Nothing." Aiden's tone is clipped. I could tell earlier that something was wrong with him, he's never sensitive like that. And what are they talking about me for? I'm starting to wonder if Aiden has a plan for me that doesn't include him. Like that would ever happen, I wouldn't allow it.
I walk into the kitchen to make some coffee, we all need something to wake us up and then I can figure out what's going on. Dividing out cups, I pour some for each of us. Aiden's beside me in an instant, he looks on edge. "What are you doing?" his tone is off, what is going on?
"Making coffee."
He runs a hand down his face, "Please, just go back to sleep babe."

"No." I state, needing to know what's happening. I place a cup in his hands and he quickly sets it down, then I turn to a quiet Leo and place one in front of him. I'm not sure why but this seems to irritate Aiden even further, discreetly he leans down whispering into my ear. "Grab your shoes." His voice is uncontrolled, wild even.
I look up at him as if to question why I need my shoes but by his wild eyes and the slight shake of his head, I don't argue. Walking past the overthinking men in the living room I slip on a pair of toms, Aiden already has boots on.
Aiden's hands clamps around a set of keys and in that exact moment, Leo steps off of the barstool, throwing on his jacket. "You're not coming," Aiden states in an amused tone, holding onto my arm.
Harold smirks, Leo shakes his head. "She needs a guard if you're taking her out."
Aiden releases me, his body stiff. Cutting his eyes to Leo he stands tall. "I am her fucking guard." He spits.
Aiden looks at me, his eyes wide. His demeanor is angry. "Get in the fucking car Emilia." I nod, not afraid of him or the way he's raising his voice. He's been through so much and I'm about to figure out what's been going on inside his head... I'll worry about their hushed discussion later, right now the important thing is figuring out what's causing so much of Aiden's stress.
The sun is cresting the mountains as I walk outside, Aiden follows close behind me. Slamming the front door shut as to end the discussion with Leo, he walks around to open the door for me. I slide into the familiar leather seats of his classic Challenger. This was the first car we ever rode in together, so much has happened since then it's hard to even believe.

I'm knocked from my longing memories as Aiden's car door slams shut, he was so quiet I didn't even hear him come in. Keeping his eyes trained on the driveway with narrowed vision, he turns the silver key in the slot and the engine revs to life. We sit for a moment, his back leaned against the black leather, his tattoed arm dangled over the black wheel. He's so lost in thought, I need to bring him back here with me.
I buckle in and hear him let out a low laugh. "Middle." He orders, pointing to the seat next to him. I happily slide over, his stance is still rigid but he leans over me putting the strap over my chest. It's almost as if he's admiring the restraints he's placed on me.
No other words are spoken as we peel out of the driveway.
Looking out the open window, I take in the familiar fall scents around us and the cool crisp air that flows through the car. It's dark out, so I can't make out the colors of the trees but I can only imagine their vibrant layout on the drive.
I admire Aiden's control over the vehicle, the way his eyes navigate us through the twisty mountain roads. Every so often, as he switches gears between my legs, his thumb brushes against the inner part of my thigh, eliciting a fire against my skin.
I'm not scared of the speed, I know he would never hurt me but I'm curious. Peeking around, my eyes widen at the sight of the speedometer, one hundred and five, it reads.
I can't deny how incredibly sexy he looks right now, his tattoed wrist sitting between my legs as his hands work with the shifter. Miles pass behind us before he finally speaks "I'm so fucking sick of being in that cabin. Everyone thinks they have say over you, my business, everything." He runs a hand throuhg his tousled hair, "I can't fucking do it."
I look at his hands again, one on the wheel and one on the shifter. The dark road ahead illuminated by only dim street lights and yet he makes every sharp curve perfectly. I watch as he calms the farther he drives. Everything is clearer now, he's navigating these roads with precision and control. That's what he needs, order. Normally, he has control over everything in his life, it's always been that way for him since he was younger.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's his nightmares about Italy. I know he was tortured, I see the scars he doesn't talk about every time he takes his shirt off. No one knows what happened to him over there, he won't talk about it. My bet is he can't talk about it, it's too much... and I would never want to push him
I may not be able to give him what he needs to fix everything, but I can give him the one thing he's craving right now.
I run my hand slowly up his leg, leaning into him. "Is this what you need?" I yell over the roar of the engine and open windows.
"I just... I need fucking control, Emilia." He yells back into the air, placing his hand on my thigh I feel a warm sensation spread through my body.
I place my hand on top of his, sliding it further up. "Control me." I beg, knowing this is what he needs.
