《The Thunderbirds and The Phoenix》Chapter Four

I sigh as I see the last box being lifted into TB3's storage compartment. I walk over to the elevator up into the command and control centre. I trudge up to John's room, knocking before entering the room. John's standing on his balcony in his TB uniform, gripping the railing so hard, his knuckles are white. I calmly walk through the almost empty room and stand next to John, making him release his hand from the railing. I rest my head on his shoulder, tracing patterns into his hand, staring at the setting sun. With less than 10 minutes till take off, John should be getting ready but he isn't, not that I'm complaining. I can hear the door behind us open before closing gently. Then someone slips between John and I. It's Alan. We stand there in the silence before Jeff's voice emerges from the comm on John's wrist. "We've got less than two minutes till take off. Say your goodbyes then get down here." He commands. John turns to us, a sad look in his eyes. "Alan, promise me that you'll keep an eye on Phoenix, make sure that she's not alone or sad. Also take care of yourself, no major misbehaving or pranks without our permission ok?" John asks Alan, staring him in the eyes. "Of course John, I promise." Alan solemnly swears, looking in John's eyes.
"Ok, now go down to the kitchen and make some tea for Nix," John smiles as Alan leaves.
"Now Nix, you need to keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't get into any fights or let his anger get the better of him. Make sure that you take care of yourself, don't worry too much and don't cry at night, I'll be available at any time if you need me. We can do this, ok?" John inquires.

"Yeah, we can. Here's a whole bag of seed for the flowers. I've checked with Jeff, TB5 has a mini greenhouse so the flowers can grow up there. Stay safe." I smile, keeping my tears at bay, handing John a bag.
"Thanks Nix, I will. I have to go now, but stay strong, my darling Phoenix. I love you." John declares, kissing my cheek.
"I love you too. Now go, you have less than a minute to get down there." I exclaim. John smiles at me before running off. I laugh as I hear Virgil crash into a wall dodging his older brother. I stay in John's room, watching TB3 take off from his balcony. The moment the craft is out of sight, I break down crying. I collapse onto the metal balcony floor, not caring that it was starting to get cold. I can hear Virgil and Alan laugh, probably joking around. I can hear them getting louder, until it gets really quiet. The only thing that I can hear are my sobs. Then, I feel two warm figure engulf me in a massive hug. It's Ali and Virgil. Virgil gently lifts me up and carries me into my room, setting me in my bed. Alan trails along behind us, carrying some of my favourite herbal tea. I quickly drink it all before starting to drift to sleep, Alan lying down beside me. Virgil pulls out a blowup bed, quickly sets it up before settling down to sleep beside my bed, ready to comfort me when needed.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.

Pillars Between Us
It started with the dent left by the Forest Sprite; A small crack in the ice that encased his memories. Curtis knew that something was off, realizing that he wasn’t who he thought he was and— perhaps Ellis wasn’t the one meant for him. --It's a fantasy novel set in a world where people inhabit on pillars-- (think of m*necaft sky block, you'll get what I mean) -- then give it a hint of action, mystery and (twisted) romance-- and it's influenced by Japanese fantasy light novels (cuz I read a lot of em'). But I'm sure it's a weird one cuz the style of writing isn't the Japanese to English translated kind of style but rather the orthodox English novel kind of writing (which includes a bunch of errors and broken English thanks to me!). In any case, if you're up for it, just beware the story starts out pretty slow.. I mean-- back then, I was still inexperienced ok! I'm gettin' better along the way, Hmmph!
