I held the stone forward and it grew brighter and brighter, matching the portal. Behind me, on the platform, my little group of traveling friends were smiling at me. Zero was on my left and Peter on my right. I turned around and smiled to my army.
"Tonight," I yelled, "we reclaim our home!"
I was answered by a chorus of cheers and raised weapons. I turned back to the portal and looked into its colorful spiraling pathway. I took the first step into the portal and kept walking. Behind me, firstly, was Zero, my loyal friend and companion to the end. Besides Zero, was Peter, my lover and supporter. Behind them. Was my "Royal Advisors". I still laughed at the name. They were my friends, and I hoped we would stay that way no matter what was about to happen. Behind them, my commanders, who would support me. Behind them, an army, ready to fight to the end for me.
It took twelve years, but I was finally going home. Up ahead, I saw a light. I took the last ten steps, slowly, before I finally landed on Heaven. Again, we were in a forest that was a mile away from the palace. The city was on the opposite side of the palace, giving us protection.
Within the next ten minutes, the whole army had made it though.
"Zero," I whispered, "take the others and go."
Nodding, he led my human friends away from us. The Hell Hounds were usually kept in a cave like structure on a far side of the palace. The half of squadron one I'd assigned to protecting them broke off and followed.
"Squadron three and four," I said a little louder, "help me and squadron two get inside. Squadron two, when we get inside you stay by the entrance and knock about anyone who tries to run. My squadron, you stick with me the whole way through. Let's go!"
Silently, we made our way though the first until we reached the clearing that was the palace.
I held up a three and then a four. Here we go. Squadron three and four charged, making as much noise as possible to distract them. The palace seemed to light up and humans flooded from the doors. All hell broke loose, no pun intended. I waited ten seconds before holding up a two. Squadron two charged more silently, making their way through the crowd. When they were half way through, I held up a one and the sky was littered with Angels and Demons. Earlier, we agreed it'd be smarter for us to go in by sky and avoid most of the fighting, taking the second story of the palace by storm.

I held Peter as close to me as I could when I heard a boom. Shit! I wasn't prepared for this, they had cannons. I heard a scream as a Demon fell from the sky. I twisted and turned, avoiding as many as I could before I finally managed to land on the patio. I'd lost at least a fifth of my men. Quickly, I took out the humans firing from the patio, along with the rest of my squadrons help.
I ran inside, followed by the others, to where I knew lead human would be, the throne room. I led them downstairs as we fought off any humans.
"Don't chase them!" I yelled. "Leave the runners for squadron two!"
Finally, I came to the door that was the throne room. I opened it to see another small group of humans waiting for me. We fought for ten minutes before I finally spotted my target. A human wearing a crown on his head. He wore a smile as he slaughtered an Angel. Taking a quick step to the right, I knocked down a few humans with my wing. I charged the man with my daggers, my dominant weapon.
I took a shot with my left dagger, but he easily blocked. While I wanted to save most of the humans, this one I wanted dead. I needed him dead. If I killed him, I claimed the throne and could end the fighting.
"Haru!" I yelled as I blocked another hit. "Haru!"
"Akira!" I heard him yell back.
"Take Peter and find the others by the Demon Hounds!"
"But Akira-" he yelled.
"Go!" Nodding he jumped and flew off looking for Peter.
Good, I didn't want to worry about them right now.
I blocked another hit but pushed back this time. When the human took a step back, I followed. Without noticing, I'd already followed him to the back door, but everything looked the same now. Covered in blood and crowded with raged filled humans, Demons, and Angels.
Smiling evilly, he took off down the halls. I gave chance, following him up one flight of stairs and then another. I was too consumed with my rage to really care where I was going. All I need was to kill him. Even if it caught me my life.

We reached the third floor ballroom where there was no one but us.
Had I fallen into a trap? No, that was impossible. He shouldn't have known I was coming.
Hoping that I was wrong, I kept fighting him, matching strike after strike. He pushed me back, and I made a desperate attack. He matched it with a fatal blow. I struck at him with my right wing, but he was ready. I saw the blood before I felt the pain. He'd left a gash on my wing and I watched in terror as it hung limply at my side.
Turning back at him, I attacked with pure furry. Still, he pushed me back. At one point, I'm sure my body started screaming at me. I didn't listen, I was too preoccupied with the monster at the other end of my sword. The monster who'd taken away my wing.
My back was against a wall. He threw his sword at me and I made dodge. Behind me, I was distracted by the sound of glass shattering. When I was distracted, he'd charged me and his hands gripped my neck, pushing me back.
In a desperate attempt to survive, I slashed frantically with my daggers. Out of pure luck, my bloodied hand slipped and I threw the dagger, landing it directly in his neck, an instant kill.
My body was cold as I felt myself fall back. He was the only thing keeping me inside. Now, I fell. I closed my eyes and prepaid for the skull crushing pain. I heard a crunch or a splat like sound.
When I opened my eyes, I was completely out the window. When I looked up, Peter was holding my foot. Below me, the human laid on the ground, a mess of blood, guts, and bones.
Gently, I was pulled back up, but I didn't feel anything, my entire body seemed numb besides the warm blood seeping from my wing.
All of them were here. Peter, Luke, Jessica, Zero, James, and even Haru. They'd all made it, we'd one.
I noticed the expressions on their faces held horror, so I turned to what they were looking at, my wing. My right wing had formed a pool of blood on the floor.
"Luke," Peter said, "go get the crown."
Taking one last glance at me, he nodded and ran off, Zero followed behind. Good boy, faithful to the end.
My eyes felt heavy and I felt weak. Peter held my head to him, because I could barely move. I'd lost too much blood. I turned to him to see he was close to crying.
"Peter," I said, my voice horse. "If I die, I want you to take the crown."
"Akira," he said, "don't talk like that, please!"
"If I, Akira...am to meet death, the throne of Heaven and...Hell alike shall be passed on to...Peter, my love."
Wet tears fell on my face. Slowly, I lifted my hand to wipe them away.
"Don't cry," I said, smiling softly. "We won. We should celebrate."
"Akira!" He yelled. The others had gathered around me. Jessica was frantically pulling at my wing while Haru was sitting besides her, asking how he could help. "Akira! Look at me! Look at me! You can't die! We won, we won!"
I continued to smile as the room got darker. Slowly, I drifted off into a peacefully cold oblivion.
