Jeong Yunho and Song Mingi have been dating for a good five to six years, they met in college and hit it off instantly. Over the years they have been together, they have had some bums, but what good relationship doesn't? They've had fights, and arguments, and angry sex. But in the end they always go back to each other, they have never hurt each other physically, emotionally, mentally, or verbally. Throughout their relationship they have never really been "Rich" they have been fairly okay with their bills and such, but at one point probably around their fourth year of being together mingi somehow gathered a very large sum of money. And whenever Yunho asked mingi about it, mingi simply said it was because he'd gotten a promotion at work, or he'd gotten a raise of sorts.
Yunho never really asked questions after that because he trusted his boyfriend.
It has now come to their sixth year anniversary, Mingi had a wonderful night planned for the two. First they were going to dinner, then have a walk on the boardwalk, and end with Mingi proposing to him on the beach side. Mingi was finishing tying his tie when his boyfriend walked into the room struggling with his. Yunho had a small pout on his lips as he tried to figure out how his tie was tied, Mingi uned to him and smiled, he walked to him and fixed his tie for his boyfriend.
"There. all fixed." Mingi smiled.
"What would i ever do without you?" Yunho smiled and pulled the younger in for a kiss. Both boys held each other, before letting go for some air and placed their foreheads together.
"Ready?" Mingi asked, Yunho nodded and grabbed his and his boyfriends jackets as they both walked to their car. Once in the car, mingi held hands with Yunho and drove to the restaurant where his reservations were currently being held. Yunho looked out the window watching the trees pass by and smiled slightly. Mingi couldn't help but smile as well as he gave a gentle squeeze to Yunho's hand.
Once they arrived at the restaurant they happily went in and got their seats with no issues besides a few dirty looks from some people but the happy couple brushed it off and continued to their seats and looked through the menu.
"Mingi..This place is really fancy.." Yunho started as he looked around nervous. Mingi placed a hand on his worried boyfriends.
"Dont worry love, its okay we have every right to be here just as much as anyone else." Mingi reassured Yunho and they continued with their night. They sat and ate their food and shared some loving looks, kisses and some fun laughs. Now it was time for the second step to Mingis plan. Mingi held Yunho's hand and he paid and the two walked to the boardwalk instead of driving. Yunho and Mingi walked hand in hand to the edge of the boardwalk and watched as the sun began to set. Mingi watched the smile on Yunho's face grow. He held his hand and made Yunho face him.
"Yunho, i...I'm really happy i met you. You have really made me such a happier person." Yunho blushed as he pressed their foreheads together. "And I know it's been way to long but I think-"

"Well, well, well, look who we have here. Song Mingi, and his little slut." Mingi and Yunho looked at the group of guys starting to approach them. Mingi stood in front of Yunho to protect him.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?!" Mingi yelled at them.
"We are here to bring you in, we have our orders and the boss wants his money back." Yunho looked at Mingi confused.
"Mingi?"
"Just stay quiet and stay behind me." Mingi snapped, Yunho was hurt, Mingi has never spoken to him like that. He looked back to the group of guys and noticed they all had masks on.
"Why are they wearing gas masks? Mingi what's happening?" Yunho asked, Mingi was about to speak but one of the men threw a can at them and a gas started to spray out of it, Mingi tried to cover his and Yunhos noses but he was grabbed and so was Yunho. The last thing Mingi saw before passing out was Yunho being dragged away from him.
When Mingi woke up, it took him a minute to regain his vision, and once he did he looked around the room. He was in a pure white room with all sorts of trays of surgical utensils on them. Panic started to take over him as he realized he was shirtless and strapped down to a metal table, he struggled and tried to look for anything to help him escape but what really caught his eye was his boyfriend was strapped down to a metal table not even five feet away from him. Yunho was strapped down by the wrists and ankles, much like mingi, and he had a piece of duct tape across his mouth.
"Yunho! Yunh wake up!" MIngi whispered, seconds later Yunho woke up and looked around and instantly started to panic. Tears started to stream down his face as he looked over at mingi. Mingi was about to open his mouth but again he was interrupted by a door opening, several men walked in. Some were in full scrubs with rubber gloves on and masks, the others were in regular clothes walking over to Mingi.
"Oh good you're awake, now we can get down to business." The man grinned at mingi, who rolled his eyes and laid his head back.
"I have nothing to discuss with you." Mingi said, the man shrugged and nodded, one of the gloved men grabbed a knife and placed it against Mingis stomach. Mingi panicked and started to struggle against his restraints. "Wait, wait ,wait! We can figure something out!" He let out a sigh with relief when the man with the knife stopped just as the cold metal touched his skin.
"I-I can pay you back! I have money saved up, I swear." The man standing at the end of the table didn't believe him. Yunho was starting to struggle now, and he was still crying. The man smirked as he looked at Yunho.
"Oh i'm sorry! I almost forgot you were here." He walked over to yunho and wiped tear streaks from his face and smiled. "Your boyfriend is kind of a shit head." Yunho looked at him with confusion and anger. The man looked back at Mingi and laughed. "Mingi, don't you think he deserves to know how you came to have such a large sum of money so fast?"

"Leave him out of this, he's done nothing to you!"
"Oh but he has, see just by being with you he has earned himself a spot on the hit list. In fact why don't you guys start on the slut, maybe then mingi will talk." The gloved men nodded and moved to the sobbing Yuunho, they ripped his shirt open and brought a knife down to his stomach, he was struggling and screaming through his gag and something he said caught the man's attention.
Mingi was struggling harder and looked at his scared boyfriend with wide eyes, but just as they were about to cut his skin they were stopped.
"Wait...Take that tape off his mouth." One of the men did and they looked at yunho. "What did you say, young man?"
Yunho swallowed hard, and choked out two words that surprised everyone in the entire room. "I-Im Pregnant...." Mingi stared at him with wide eyes. A Loud laugh filled the room as the man took a knife and brought it over to mingi.
"Well, how about that, you got our slut pregnant. Too bad.. Looks like you will have to watch two things you love die." Something snapped in mingi as he saw the horrified look on Yunho's face. He felt a sharp pain in his stomach as the blade was slowly pressed in. He somehow managed to pull his wrist free, before the blade could get any deeper to cause any real damage he grabbed it and stabbed it into the other man.
"Don't. Touch. My. Family." Mingi growled, he pushed the man off, the others in the room jumped on him. He fought and swung the knife around until there was no one standing, Yunho was looking away from when the knife was being stabbed into his boyfriend. Mingi cut himself loose and ran to Yunho's side. Yunho panicked when he felt hands on him.
"No baby, it's me! It's Mingi!" Yunho Turned his head and saw Mingi and he broke down crying even more. Mingi cut him loose and helped him up, Yunho clung to him. They walked out of the building and just started walking. Yunho clung to mingi but stopped on a road.
"What did you do mingi? Why did they do that to us! Why did they kidnap us and hurt you!?" Yunho cried.
"Yunho..."
"No! I'm sick of the lying just tell me the truth! For once!"
"I STOLE MONEY AND KILLED HIS DAUGHTER! OKAY! HAPPY NOW!?!?" Yunho stared at mingi and gasped, covering his mouth with his hand. "He hired me to do a job, I had to assassinate someone. His daughter was going undercover at the same time, I missed the target and hit her instead. I panicked then I stole the money I was supposed to retrieve and I ran." Yunho sat down on a stump and cried his eyes out as he held his stomach.
"You lied to me..." Yunho quietly said. "I trusted you and you lied to me. I asked you dozens of times where all the money came from adn you told me you got a raise! YOU LIED TO ME!!!" Yunho screamed. Mingi tried to comfort him but Yunho slapped his hands away and backed up. "Don't touch me!" Mingi backed up
"Yunho please...I wanted the best life for you, i wanted us to succeed and be happy, and not worry about money....Please..." Mingi softly sadi, Yunh shook his head and started walking. Mingi sighed, and with his head hung low he slowly followed behind him, tears ran down both their faces. They were both cold, and tired. Adn by the end of the day, who knows if they were still the happy couple they used to be.
Both boys were silent when they made it back to town, they went back to their large home and went their separate ways going to different bathrooms to shower the night off of them. Yunho was already in the shower when mingi made it to their room. Mingi sat on the end of the bed and pulled the black velvet box from his pocket and opened it looking at the shiny silver band that sat in the cloth. Mingi just stared at it, he was lost in his thoughts as he heard the door open slightly. Yunho had a towel around his waist and he walked to the closet to get clothes out, when he saw the ring. Yunho and Mingi started at the ring, before Mingi handed Yunho the whole box. Yunho looked at him with wide eyes before carefully taking the velvet box from him.
"If you ever forgive me, that ring will always mean that I want to be your husband, it will always mean you are welcome here. It will always mean that I love you. I know I fucked up, I know that. But all I want is to be in your life, in their life." Mingi said as he pointed to Yunho's stomach. "Nothing will change the fact that i want to be a father, nothing will change the fact that I love you." Mingi stood up and went to the bathroom to shower. Yunho looked down at the ring in the box, and closed the box. He grabbed his clothes and went to the guest room downstairs on the opposite side of the house. He got dressed and laid in bed. His mind ran with all of the thoughts and memories that happened tonight, he was going to tell mingi he was pregnant and mingi was going to propose. The boy that he loved was upstairs in his own room. The room that they used to share and cuddle in. Yunho shook the memories of tonight from his mind and he closed his eyes. Mingi lied to him about money, and the fact that he killed someone by accident. Yunho wasn't sure if he could ever forgive mingi. But all he cared about right now was sleep. With not another thought on his mind he was slowly enveloped in sleep.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
