《Scarlet Wolf》29- First Job

"So you remember what to do?" I ask.

Another month had passed and Isa was done training. She had passed every test with flying colors, and it was time for her first job. Of course, I would be with her, but she was taking jobs now too.

"Of course," Isa replied, rolling her eyes at me. "Pick the lock on the window, walk in, find Kahlin, and slit his throat. Pretty simple."

"Hey, don't give me that look!" I explain, teasing. "I'm just making sure that you know what you're doing."

Isa shoots me a small grin. "Can't believe I've come this far, can you?" She asks.

"Nope," I say, returning the grin. "The Isa I first met stuttered, blushed at everything, and was so quiet I almost couldn't hear her sometimes."

Isa blushed. "Well one thing hasn't changed," I say, pecking each of her cheeks, feeling them heat up even more.

"Okay, okay, let's go," Isa mumbles, getting up and grabbing her knife, slipping it into the knife holder on her thigh. I picked it out especially for her. It was custom made, with a swirly, ornate carved metal handle, the ends curled into sharp spikes, and a gleaming silver blade, sharp enough to pierce flesh without any resistance.

We hope onto my motorcycle, me in the front and Isa clinging on behind me. Isa and Ced had pooled their money to buy it for me for my birthday. It black and sleek, and for a motorcycle it was very quiet.

We rode quickly to the gang house, a slightly run down house relatively close to our apartment. I parked a few houses down, so it would look so suspicious. We walked quietly around to the back of the house.

Isa grabbed a rock from the ground and smashed it into the lock, before opening the window. She climbed in, and I followed her.

Inside, we quickly found Kahlin Jeo, our target. I kept watch while Isa slit his throat. Quick, easy, and he wouldn't feel it.

We got out of there quickly, and rode back home in silence. When we got off, Isa turned toward me.

"How was I?" She asked. "For the first time I mean?"

My mind immediately went somewhere else, and I snorted at the sexual undertones that statement had. Even despite having just killed someone, Isa blushed.

"You were perfect," I said truthfully. "Scarlet Wolf and Shadow. The two most dangerous assassins in New York."

Isa smiled. We walk up to our floor, holding hands all the way. We change into pajamas, and climb into bed.

Isa turns over, and kisses me goodnight. "Love you," she mumbles, eyes already drooping.

"Love you too," I say, pulling her close, smiling as I fall asleep with Isa in my arms.
