《Scarlet Wolf》12- Blueberry Pancakes

A/N- I'm back from vacation, so now my schedule will be back to normal! Sorry about the wackiness of the updating for the past week, I didn't have great WiFi, and I was hanging out with my family, but now I'm back to updating every other day.
___
I wake up that morning next to Isa. She was curled into me, a little ball by my side. I looked at her, and the only thought running through my mind was that she was absolutely adorable. I quickly pushed those thoughts out of my mind. Replaying what Ced has said the other day about being fine as long as we were careful, I decided it was best to pretend that I didn't have feelings for her. Maybe someday, but it just felt too dangerous.
I felt Isa shift beside me. I glance at her, to see her opening her eyes. She looks at me, and immediately starts blushing. I guess waking up in bed with me embarrassed her. Wait, I I think about it like that, it sounds really sexual. I smirk a little, and even without me saying a thing, Isa blushes harder.
"Good morning," Isa whispers as she sits up.
"Morning," I reply, sitting up as well. "Did you sleep well after your night terror?"
"Yeah," she nods. "I did. Thanks, for, you know..." she trails off, blushing once again.
I decide to mess with her a little. "For what? I don't know."
"Thanksforsleepingwithme!" She bursts out. I crack up, and Isa blushes harder, realizing what she said.
Once I stop laughing, I smirk at her. "We didn't do anything, you know. You must have had a very realistic dream after I got in bed."
Isa, now as red as a tomato, climbs out of bed. "Shut up," she mumbled. "I didn't mean it like that."

"I know. I'm just teasing."
I was about to say more, when my stomach rumbled. I was immediately aware of how hungry I was.
"Well, it looks like I need breakfast. I think it's my turn to cook. What do you want?" I ask.
"Pancakes, please," Isa says after a moment of thought. "Don't we still have blueberries? We can add them in if we do."
"Okay, sounds good with me," I reply, walking towards the small kitchen.
I start getting out ingredients and Isa comes up behind me. "I want to help," she says, and I turn towards her.
"Sure. Do you know how to make pancake batter?"
She shakes her head no.
"Okay, then I'll make the batter, and you can wash the berries."
"Sounds good," she replies, and I grin.
"Okay. Let's get down to business."
And from the fridge where Isa is grabbing the blueberries, she yells, "TO DEFEAT THE HUNS."
"DID THEY SEND ME DAUGHTERS, WHEN I ASKED FOR SONS?" Isa and I sing in unison before laughing.
After that, I can hear Isa humming other Disney songs, sometimes singing them under her breath. She's not the best singer, but she's not the worst either.
"Tale as old as time," she starts as I serve the first couple pancakes.
"Song as old as rhyme," I sing, getting my own plate and sitting down.
"Beauty and the beast," we finish, before grinning at each other.
Her smile is beautiful, I think before I can stop myself. Ugh, no I can't think like that. Stop it, Tala, I think afterwards.
I must have an interesting expression on my face because Isa was staring at me weirdly. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, fine," I reply, but my voice cracks. She must know something is up, but she doesn't push it, and for that, I'm grateful.
We finish eating in silence, and Isa leaves soon after for work. Right after she leaves, I decide to go train. Anything to take my mind off of Isa. I leave her a note, in case she gets back before me, and start my walk to Ced's warehouse.
