《Scarlet Wolf》11- Night Terrors

A/N- So, like I said, I don't know when I'll be updating, but I had enough time to right this short, fluffy chapter. Anyway, I hope you guys like it, so here it is.

That night, I woke up to screams. Panicked, I shot up out of bed and ran to Isa. To my relief, she was fine, and no one else was in the apartment. Isa was sitting up in bed, crying hysterically. I walked over to her and climbed into the pullout bed. I put an arm around her, rubbing soothing circles into her back.

"Hey. Hey. It's alright. Whatever is bugging you, I'll help you through it."

Slowly, Isa's cries slowed to hiccups. I continued to calm her down. When she finally stopped crying, I grabbed a tissue from the table and handed to her. After she blew her nose, I turned toward her.

"So what's wrong?" I asked, my voice soft.

"I had a night terror. I got them a lot when I was younger, and still do occasionally now. The doctor said that big life changes and stress can trigger them," Isa answered in a wavering voice.

"Does it help to talk about them?" I say, concerned.

She shakes her head. "No, I don't remember them. I'm surprised I got one. I'm not super stressed, and the last big change happened three weeks ago."

"Well, whatever it was, just know that it won't happen in real life. And if it does, I'll protect you."

Isa suddenly wraps her arms around my waist, pulling me into a tight hug.

"Thanks," she mumbles into me.

I smile a little. "No problem. Well, if you are okay now, let's go back to sleep," I say, trying to get up.

Isa tugs me back down onto the bed.

"No," she says, lifting her head up to look at me with pleading eyes. "Please stay."

"Okay," I reply, settling down into the bed, grabbing an extra pillow. I pull the blanket over us and close my eyes. Isa snuggles into me and I smile sleepily. It was nice having Isa with me, even just for the night.
