《Bestfriend as a Mate》S I X T E E N

I grumble as the final bell rings. Gathering my things, I go to my locker putting unnecessary books in there as it is the weekend. Leaving the building, I don't see Augustus anywhere. Rolling my eyes at his childish behavior, I walk to my spot. Relaxing. as I take a seat on the ground leaning my back against the tree I sigh.
Crossing my arms over my knee, I put my head down.
***
A howl woke me up, as I jump started. Collecting my bookbag, I stand up walking the rest of the way home. Checking my phone, I see my parents called me 5 times but surprisingly Augustus had called me almost 20 times straight.
Rolling my eyes, "He doesn't know whether he wants to be mad or worried." I sigh as I reach my house. Entering inside my house, I see my mom pacing as dad tries to get her to calm down.
"Do you know how worried your dad and I have been?! We were worried sick!" Mom yelled at me. "Mom I'm sorry. I just needed some thinking time so I went to my spot. I guess I fell asleep which I didn't mean to do." I explain as I look at mom.
"Fine. But your grounded! Give Me your phone." Mom said holding her hand out. Putting my phone in her hand, I kiss her cheek before going to my bedroom.
I was expecting Augustus to be laying on the bed or even pacing the room but he wasn't there. I'm not sure why but my heart dropped a little as I got into my bed by myself. Sighing to myself, I curl into the blankets.
My eyes closed, but sleep seemed to evade me as I stayed up just gazing out my window at the night sky. "You are my sunshine. My only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You never know dear how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." I sing softly to myself as I saw deers coming out the woods.

Standing up, I go out to the living room. Seeing no one in the living room, I sit down on the couch looking up at the ceiling.
"You can even come over whenever you want."
Getting up, I put on some shoes rushing out the house quiet as possible. I run across the tree line seeing the trailers that Augustus talks about. Seeing a couple walking I go up to them. "Excuse. Um can you tell me where Augustus is?" I ask them as I see a wide smile go across their face.
"Yes, Luna. Alpha is that double wide trailer just over there. It's the only one with a black door. We can take you if you want." They said. "No thank you. Thank you for helping me." I smile to them before making my way to Augustus's trailer.
It was bigger than the others. Going up the steps, I knock on the door. Hearing no movement, I decide to go inside. The trailer was very spacious even with the couch and medium size flat screen.
Hearing muffled voices, I go down a hall stopping behind a white door. Opening the door, I see this woman with red hair and freckles. She was beautiful actually.
Suddenly she moved to Augustus's lap and kissed him making me march into the room. "So you get mad at me for Nathan and you let some lady kiss you!" I yell, startling them.
"Yoshi, its not like that." Augustus said standing up practically tossing the lady to the side.
"So your the infamous Yoshi." The lady said sending me a sneer as I narrowed my eyes. "Yeah but who are you?" I ask as I stand my ground as her blue eyes stare into me.
"Oh, I'm Sydney LaFlaire. Gussy's girlfriend." Sydney said as she shifted her weight. Turning around, I laugh as I look at Gus then look at Sydney.

Wiping my tears, I hold my stomach as I look at a confused Sydney. "You. A grown woman calls this grown man Gussy. That's like calling a shark a guppie." I say as a small smile covers my face.
Sydney turned red I'm not sure if its from embarassment or anger but she was red. "Leave us Sydney." Augustus growled behind me and soon she left but not without a sneer my way. Turning around to Augustus, I give him a small smile before slapping him.
"Thats for letting her kiss you." I say before punching him in the gut. "That's for abandoning me at school."
Augustus doubled over as I punched him in the gut. Lifting him up, I press a soft kiss to his redden cheek. "What are you doing here Yoshi?" Augustus asked as he yawned.
"I can't sleep and you said I could come over any time I want." I say as I look around the bedroom. Seeing a very simplistic room with a queen size bed, a dresser, closet , and a adjoined bathroom.
Walking to the bed, I take off mu shoes and pants before climbing inside waiting patiently for Augustus to join. After a minute, he did laying on his back as he did so. Rolling my eyes at him, I straddle his hips forcing him to make eye contact with me.
"Stop being mad at me. Nathan is simply a buddy." I say as he pouts childlike. "Then why does Nathan have your number? Why does he want to meet up?" Augustus growled his eyes flickering.
"He has my number because I stayed over at his place when I was mad at you. He wants to meet up to introduce me to his mate." I say amusement in my eyes as Augustus has a light blush on his face.
"Why didn't you answer any of my calls?" He asked holding my waist. "I was asleep." I say getting comfortable before going to sleep.

A Merchants Tale
Legends rise. Country’s fall. Empires wage war. But what supports these great powers, allowing them to function as a single organism. Is it the common man, Farmers and Millers forming the backbone of the land? The Soldiers and Guards keeping public order? The Wives and Widows supporting from the side-lines? The Nobles from their seats of power? Or the elusive Sorcerers who wield power untold? And what maggots crawl in this great creature, all trying to get a piece of its slowly decaying flesh. The gangs of the Underworld hidden in the shadows? The Bandits and Deserters hiding at the edges, ready to pounce on any weakness? Witches and Warlocks working their dark art? Or other Nations clawing at their neighbour’s, salivating over the riches they stand to gain from another’s demise. There is one group that belongs to neither group. They thrive on others misfortune and bring with them salvation and destruction in equal measure. They can raise a kingdom up or tear it down screaming and kicking. These are the merchants, the lifeblood of kingdoms, because what is the one thing above all else men crave. Is it Love? Power? Destruction? All these things can be acquired with one simple thing. Wealth. Wealth is the true power behind the world. Wealth can buy army’s, strangle kingdoms, and turn even the most devout man from his faith. Merchants come in many forms, shapes and sized, some gaudy, bleeding the people for all their worth, some tricky, preferring to make contracts and debts to trap men. And some desperate, doing all they can to sell even the most worthless of junk. This is a story of one merchant who goes against all a merchant stands for. He works not for profit but for some unseen goal, a prophesy aeons old. He comes and goes like a ghost, bringing with him hope and victory. All pray for his arrival to spare them from despair. But what about when he doesn’t show? What about the people he doesn’t save? For this man is no angel, no saint sent to save the masses. His goal was never to deliver hope. It merely isn’t time for their destruction yet. For nothing is eternal. And all things must end. But what comes after? Quick disclaimer in response to the review I got, this is my first story and somewhat of an experiment for me, hopefully my writing will get better the more I practice. Thanks for any helpful advice :)
