《To Go Higher (Uta No Prince Sama FANFICTION)》It Won't Hurt

In just a few minutes, the bell rings signalling the end of second class. As lunch begins, students rush out of the halls. Before they could stampede on me, I've already arrived at the studio. Looking at the time, I wait for a minute before Hyuga and Ringo enter. In Hyuga's hand was a folded up electric piano.
"Melody-chan! Didn't I tell you not to skip classes!" My teacher asks pouting earning a shrug from me.
"Here." Hyuga gives me the electric piano while I begin to prepare for my stage, "Do remember, if you don't impress us you'll have to go to all your classes."
"And I will impress you so I can skip all my classes." I reply with determination as I sit on a chair.
Tinkering with the piano's melody, I figure the whole system out before starting. Their stares are intensely staring at me as I take a deep breathe.
Beginning to play the piano, a beautiful escapes my mouth earning them to widen their eyes.
Something has changed within me
Something is not the sameI'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's gameToo late for second-guessingToo late to go back to sleepIt's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes and leap!
Before they could even contain the first shock, I start to make more beats to partner with the piano keys and my voice. Drums. Bass. And more along the way.
It's time to try
Defying gravityI think I'll tryDefying gravityKiss me goodbyeI'm defying gravityAnd you won't bring me down
I'm through accepting limits 'cause someone says they're so
Some things I cannot change but 'til I try, I'll never know!Too long I've been afraid of losing love I guess I've lostWell, if that's love, it comes at much too high a cost!
As I continue to sing, the happiness of my inside begins to bubble as my love for music continues to rise while I'm singing. My singing voice gets even more energetic as I want to show everything I got.
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravityKiss me goodbyeI'm defying gravityI think I'll tryDefying gravityAnd you won't bring me down
I'd sooner buy
Defying gravityKiss me goodbyeI'm defying gravityI think I'll tryDefying gravityAnd you won't bring me down
Ah, ah
When I finish, I allow my fingers to slid off the keys to show my finish. Didn't realize that I closed my eyes, I open them to find the two shocked teachers as they stare at me with amazement.

"Well, judging from your expressions, it means I've impressed both of you correct? Also meaning I won't have to attend class anymore." I smile before standing up and walking out of the room.
~~~~~
My eyes bore a hole to the two boys in front of me as they block my way to my dorm house.
"What?" I snap wanting to go to my room and be alone.
"You never told us that you can sing or even compose so...beautifully." Sei states.
"How —"
"We heard your show. Hyuga-sensei told us about it and said we should join." Astrin states getting me to click my teeth.
"Why didn't you tell us this?!" Sei asks only raising the anger in me to grow.
"What? Why? Probably because the minute I talked to both of you during my first day, I was then placed as an outcast because all the bullying! Why else? Sure, I'm weak for getting the bully to reach my love for music. But —" before I could continue, two pair of arms wrap around me only causing shock from me.
My eyes widen as I feel their hugs get tighter each second.
"We're sorry." They apologize getting me to only be limp in their arms.
The strength in my fists gets harder as I push them away. Anger was in my eyes as I glare at them.
"Don't you dare touch me. Don't you ever dare even say sorry for what you've done." I growl before pushing both of them out of the way so I can enter inside the dorms.
When I do, I close the door behind me to only slide my back down it. The tears in my eyes dare to escape as I look down to the floor.
Sorry doesn't do anything.
~~~~~
My eyes look up to the bright beautiful sky as I watch the clouds float by. Ever since my performance to the two teachers, I haven't been bothered about attending class. And of course I'm happy about that, but there was one problem.
"Melody!" I hear the familiar voice of Astrin enter my ears egging me to sigh and growl slightly.
Sitting up, I find the two boys running over to me. Astrin with his usual dumb face and Sei with his usual poker face. Those two have been annoying me ever since that day always wanting me to participate in the group and so on.

"What?" I ask sounding obviously annoyed when they reach me.
"Here! Please read this!" They both now getting me to look at the stack of paper they're handing me.
For some reason, my hand stretches out for the sheets snatching them away from their grasp. Looking through them by flipping the sheets quickly, I hand them back with my eyes closed.
"The notes are not balanced. You have to make the melody smooth if you want to change the pace like that." I reply as they take back their music.
"Ugh! This is so hard!" Astrin groans.
"Life isn't easy." I reply back before yawning covering my mouth with my hand.
Sei looks intensely at the music as Astrin continues to complain. Sighing, I lean back on the tree trunk.
"Why do you guys even want to meet with STARISH and QUARTET NIGHT?" I ask crossing my arms as the two look at me.
"Well, wouldn't it be great to meet with idols? You can learn from them and all." Astrin states.
"It's a rare opportunity to meet them since they're so popular and all." Sei adds.
"And they're our role models." They both state.
I raise an eyebrow and look towards Sei, "But I thought you wanted to be a composer?"
He shrugs, "Not exactly, I was forced to be in the composer section by my family."
I stay quiet before sighing. Sometimes my heart is too nice for its own good. Pushing myself off the floor, I stand up before snatching the stack of paper from Sei.
"It won't hurt to help you guys with this, I guess." I give in before heading back to the school.
They both stare at me before smiles appear on their faces as they catch up with me.
~~~~~
"No, that's not going to work." I interrupt getting Sei to stop writing and instantly erase the music notes.
"Melody! You're too strict!" Astrin whines.
"Well, you guys wanted my help, and here it is. So stop complaining." I reply.
He pouts before the two continue to write their music. I sit there at my desk with my hand supporting my head as the two sit beside me using my desk. Students whisper to each other as they glance at us.
"Nope." I reject again.
They both groan.
Seeing their depressed selves, I sigh.
"I've been wondering, both of you want to be idols correct?" I ask getting nods from them before I turn to Sei, "Then why don't you change courses?"
"If I do, my parents will be angered." He answers.
"Well, you don't always have to do what your parents want you to do. It's your own life." I reply as he looks down at the messy music sheets.
"Can we make a bet?" He asks getting me to look at him confused with Astrin, "If you'll take being a composer seriously, I'll take being an idol seriously."
His eyes look directly at me as I smile, "It's not like I'm not taking composing not seriously. I am, it's just in doing it another way but why not? Let's make this deal."
Stretching my hand towards him, he grasps it before shaking hands.
"Since I'll be taking being a composer seriously now, write down the notes I'll hum." I order getting him to tighten the grip of his pencil as he gets ready.
Relaxing before I lean my head back to look up to the ceiling. My eyes close as my whole body then goes limp. Music notes dance in my head as a melody begins to create itself as I stare at the imaginary notes that are in the dark. That's when I begin to hum what I'm seeing.
When I open my eyes, I sit up properly as eyes stare at me.
"What?" I ask disturbed by all the eyes.
"How did you do that?" Astrin asks.
"Do what?"
"That. You just created a melody out of thin air!" He gapes.
I roll my eyes, "I didn't create it from thin air. I just let my musical side control me to find a melody."
"We can use this." Sei finally speaks getting us to look towards him.
He was staring at the music sheet with twinkling eyes.
Before I knew it, the beginning of a new adventure is taking place.
As Dolores tries only to survive and hide between 'normal' people, she encounters stranger and stranger things that force her hand and, in the end, she has the answers to a lot of questions. It is a slow-developing story. I had a lot of fun writing it and hope to share it with you, dear reader if you also enjoy it. On the other hand, putting it in an acceptable form requires much work and energy. I intend to bring it to its end and not let it unfinished. I hate it when I encounter unfinished stories, so I understand the feeling. This is not a classical isekai story. There is travel between the two worlds, and the game world seems to be so very real... well, this is one plot of the story. This is not an MMORP game story. Part of the action happens inside a game world, but it is treated as a real world. Updates on a weekly basis, at least Monday and Friday, with additional bonus chapters as time and energy allow. Cover art: White Flower as A Dark Fairy by Darkrealmsmaiden Yolanda gracefully allowed me to use her dark fairy as cover. There are many more beautiful works of art to be discovered at her site: https://www.deviantart.com/darkrealmsmaiden Additional Grammar Trigger Warning: As a non-native speaker, I do my best. Unfortunately, this is not enough for people with a low tolerance for warped sentences and... they may want to skip the story :( Well, you have been warned :) I appreciate it when a reader points out a sentence that needs rework. That may spare a follow-up reader some pain and helps me understand where my English grammar problems are. * We thought we made the best game in Earth's history We thought we made the best interfaces ever seen We thought we made it - lifelike But it far exceeded our expectations. Dolores, I hope you're happy now. I hope you're alive now...
