Imani has a giant wardrobe with colorful secondhand items and more makeup than I knew existed.

She's fiddling with her cassetteplayer as go through her closet to find something to wear.

"I made it through the wilderness..."

Madonna's Like a Virgin starts playing and Imani promptly presses skip

"This song isn't very fitting for our threesome having girl over here".

I laugh and drape a shiny scarf around my shoulders.

"This one's better..."

Imani mumbles and presses play.

I jump up and down and Imani start dancing on her bed. She holds her hand out to me and I hop on.

We dance around on her bed and sing our hearts out. When the song is over we let ourselves drop down, giggling and out of breath.

"Hey"

Imani turns to me

"Why don't we invite your roommates?".

I think about it

"Hm, yeah that'd be fun!".

She points me to the housephone and I dial our number.

After a long while Izzy picks up, he sounds out of out of breath

"Hello?"

"Izz! It's me, Syl"

I can hear rock music in the background and familiar voices

"You guys practicing?".

"Yeah, we're quite busy, whatsup?"

"Oh I was wondering if you guys wanna go out with us tonight?"

"Ah, no we can't"

Izzy says quickly

"We're practicing right now and we're also busy tonight, have fun though!"

I'm a little disappointed but I hear the guys asking Izzy to hurry up in the background

"Well, that's okay. Another time?"

"Definitely! Gotta go okay?"

"Bye"

Izzy hangs up.

I turn to Imani

"They're busy".

She clicks her tongue

"Whatever, we'll still have fun".
