"On January 16th an unrelated demonstration were organized by another group of Civil War veterans in front of the Ministry of Veteran Affairs 200 meters from the Ministry of Defense, mostly voicing issues about their rights and benefits, which went on with no violence occurred."

Regional Representative (Senator) Fauzi Rahmat (PDI-P; East Java), chairman of the Third Committee of the Regional Representative Council, covering education, religion, tourism, and social welfare had called both the Minister of Veteran Affairs and Minister for Education, Culture, Science, and Technology to present a joint progress report of the ongoing effort to counter predatory for-profit colleges (diploma mills) targeting Civil War and earlier former service personnel of the Armed Forces and law enforcement forces under the Readjustment Act (Indonesia's G.I. Bill).

According to the joint report, from up to 450 institutions of higher and technical educations identified as "involved in irregular and questionable practices" along with non-active ones, only 120 of them have been closed and it's managements prosecuted, with some involved were sent to penal military and labour units in lieu of imprisonment, but the government stressed crackdowns will continue.

In a special address to the Parliament, President Latuperissa stated that "in a good many instances our veterans in both Armed Forces and law enforcement have been trained for occupations for which they are not suited or for occupations in which they will be difficult or unable to find jobs when they finish their service for our Nation. Every time an effort of education does not contribute in a substantial way to the readjustment of a veteran into civilian lives it means a failure, a failure that is costly to the veteran, to his family, and to the Nation." He continued " All Indonesians must always be vigilant and do their part to ensure that every course under the Readjustment Act will provide a good quality training and in return help our veteran to complete their occupational readjustment and find satisfactory employment or starting businesses, which in return will increase employment opportunities of the people of Indonesia."

President Latuperissa had arrived in Athens International Airport, Athens, Greece to attend the United Nations Coordination Conference between PPDU, NATO, and Vladivostok Pact member states in Athens, Greece, from 22nd to 28th January. All main government leaders of the PPDU, NATO, and Vladivostok Pact states attended the conference. During the stay in Athens the leaders were expected to discuss following main issues; the next offensive plan on the remaining territories occupied by the UCC and existing counter-insurgency operation in liberated territories; it's unconditional surrender and de-radicalization for both the central government and its constituent member; formation of an international cyber defense coordinating agency in mutual support against increasing cyber attack and espionage by the Caliphate and other 'extremist groups' detrimental to the war effort; refugee relief, restoration of governance in Iran, continuation of European reconstruction, and plan for the new Middle East order."

During and after the summit Greek security forces and NATO announced that they've exposed and foiled up to 50 plots against the summit or the leaders with 35 are cyber in nature along with 200 arrests. Furthermore, thanks to the country's proximity with UCC member state Turkey, Athens was practically locked down during the summit with no fly zones being imposed over portions of the city, especially as the country was still under state of emergency, citing recovery from UCC occupation of Central Macedonia and Eastern Macedonia -Thrace, liberated by NATO almost a year ago. Nevertheless up to seven attempts of protests by extreme left groups were recorded with up to 225 people were arrested.

On the other hand in Thessaloniki a week prior, thousands of social activists all over the world held an underground three-day "People's Summit for a New World" organized by 'Coalition of Alternatives', tackling questions such as feminism in a changing world order, immigration, environment, an alternative to capitalism, multipolar and multi-civilizational world order, terrorism and religion as well as solution for the Middle East problems.
