《Falling in love with the Muslim girl ✔》Chapter 44: Long lost brother

"At times you may think everything is going wrong, yet you don't realize that Allah is setting everything right."
-Unknown
We ate dinner and watched some tv. And by 'we' I mean mom, Yassine, Brody and I.
"C'mon honey, it's getting late", my mom said grabbing Yassine's hand.
They went upstairs and I was alone with Brody again.
Even though it was getting late, Brody refused to go home until he knew for sure I was okay. That cry session did me good, it was what I needed all along.
"You okay?" Brody asked once again.
He looked at me with his bright blue eyes until I broke eye contact.
I know that you all think that we were sitting close next to eachother holding hands like any other couple, but no.. I refused to be in any relationship, a normal relationship anyway.
Brody is mine and I'm Brody's, but we were trying to minimize the physical contact. Of course it didn't always go as planned, but I made it clear that I didn't want something like that kiss to happen again.
"Yeah, you being here is a big help." I responded after a short break.
A smile appeared on his face as I made eye contact again.
The doorbell interupted our moment and Brody offered to open the door, but I refused.
"You're the guest, sit back down mister." I said when he already stood up.
I opened the door and the person I least expected was standing in front of me.
The person that practically was stalking me.
But also the one that in some way was there for me.
You know, the person I hoped died instead of my brother..
Rasheed Bourdini.
"Hey Safia." he said.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked annoyed.
Because I raised my voice a bit, Brody walked over and joined me.
As soon as he saw who it was, he stood in front of me pushing me back.
"What do you want?!" Brody asked.
He was angry, you could see it at his hands which were formed into fists.
"Not here to talk to you tough guy, forgot how I saved your ass at the party?" Rasheed responded.
"I didn't need your saving" Brody said taking a few steps forward.
"Ok-aay" I said. I pulled Brody back by grabbing his arm. "Come in Rasheed." I added making room for him to enter.
"What are you doing Safia?!" Brody asked.
"Giving him a chance to explain, that's what I'm doing." I said. "Now you either let him explain or you can go". I added pointing towards the door.

"I'm not going anywhere as long as he's here." Brody said.
"Fine, but not a word." I responded.
"Explain." I said facing Rasheed again.
As he was going to start, mom came downstairs to join the conversation.
"Safia, who's this?" Mom asked when she walked downstairs.
She probably thinks that I only have male friends.
"He'll tell you that." I said crossing my arms.
"We're listening." I added and waited patiently for his story.
..
"What?" I asked suprised after he had finished his story.
I sat down and needed some time to get my head around.
I saw that my mom some way wasn't that surprised about his story.
"Mom?" I asked, "did you know?"
She took a short break, sighed and responded, "I kinda knew"
"What?! Mom!" I shouted.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I never thought that he would turn up at my door."
"Mom, did he.."
"No!" She immediately responded.
"He was married with someone else before me, they eventually divorced and that's when I met your father." She said.
"He knew he had another son but he wasn't allowed to see him .. see you" she said looking at Rasheed.
"Your mother was pregnant with you the year your mother and father got a divorce." She then finished and sat down.
"So, why the hell don't I know about this?!" I asked annoyed.
"Your father wanted to tell you eventually, I guess he never got the chance to do so"
Can't believe that my father had another family before us. Somehow I was mad but also relieved.. Relieved that he didn't cheat on my mother.
"So that's why you were at that party?" I asked. "That's what that guy meant by 'this guy is more involved in your life than you think'."
"A few months back he figured it out after I had a fight with one of his friends at a party"..
"So you're living here now?" I asked confused.
"I moved away after my mother finally told me about my real father and his family, since then I've been kinda following you just to make sure you were okay , you just didn't know."
"What?" I still was in shock.. what the hell was he talking about.
"I saw how that guy followed and stalked you, I heard about that Nathan guy that assaulted you and your weird friend from your old school. I was trying my best to not get involved as I didn't want to cause trouble in your family." He said sitting down.

"I did look after you and when I was finally going to stand up for you, your brother or boy- euhm- friend got your back. So I never really needed to introduce myself until today. Until I heard I lost my half brother.."
"Someone who never got the chance to meet me, he didn't knew about my existence. I promised myself to finally tell the truth before something like that happened again."
"Brody, I do appreciate what you do and did for her." Rasheed said now making eye contact with Brody.
"Of course." Brody responded.
"So wait, why were you at the hospital then? Were you following me?"
"No, I was there for my cousin who lives here. That was just a coincidence." He responded.
"I know that it's alot to take in, so I'll let you think about everything."
Rasheed said.
He walked towards the front door and we all followed him.
"Thank you.• I said one last time.
"Don't need to thank me" He said and walked towards his car. He started his car and drove off.
What just happened?
*flashback of the day Zakaria followed Safia*
"I swear to God, I will kill him for touching my sister."
"Rasheed calm down will you, she doesn't even know you exist." Jamal said.
"Yeah he's right." Brahim agreed.
"So what? I will get him back for that" I said angrily.
"Whatever, we have your back bro" Yousef said.
"Yeah" the others responded in choir.
I had 4 friends that would have my back on anything. And I would have theirs without a doubt.
"What do you wanna do?" Jamal asked.
"Teach him a lesson." I replied.
"When and where?" Rafid asked.
"I'll text." I responded and shook their hands one by one.
I knew these guys since I was little, they always had my back on everything.
We moved away from our birth city 1 year agoo. After my mother finally told me about my half brothers and sister. I don't have any brothers or sisters. My mom married another guy who I thought was my father for over 22 years.
My friends and I bought a house and moved in together. After I told them about my terrible life they agreed to move away with me. We were going to move away anyway, we just didn't knew where to.
When I arrived and moved in with my friends I changed my last name to the name of my real father.
I still don't know when I'm going to tell my longlost 'siblings' about me, maybe I'll just never tell them. It wouldn't do any good..
It was late, I texted a friend back home about this Zakaria guy and made sure I had the right guy. I knew where he lived and where he would be tonight.
He will be at a party a few hours from where we lived. Jamal started his car and we all got in.
After we finally arrived at the party, we all started looking for the jerk. Yousef spotted him after a few minutes and gave us a sign where he was.
"Zakaria?" I asked when I stood behind the guy.
"Yeah who are you?"
"Yeah who are you?" Another guy I didn't knew repeated.
"Your worst nightmare", I said after punching him in the face as hard as I could.
A crowd immediately was formed around us with my friends, Zakaria, his friend and myself in the middle.
"Bruh what's your problem?" His friend asked.
"Your friend over here, choose the wrong girl to go after." I responded.
"I swear to God if.." his friend said.
"If I what? What are you going to do hu?" I interupted.
"Samual easy.." Zakaria said.
"I don't know what you're talking about bro." Zakaria added.
"Oh you know"
"Ah you mean Safia don't you?" He asked.
"Don't you dare say her name again", I said punching him again.
"And who are you? Her brother?" His friend asked.
"You are, aren't you" he added suprised after we all didn't respond.
"I know her brother and you don't look like him." Zakaria said spitting out the blood that was coming out of his mouth.
"Well, meet her other brother." I then responded and punched him again a few times.
His friend tried to get inbetween but my friends kept him back.
"If I ever see you near her again, Wallahi you will not survive it" I threatened.
His friend helped him up and my friends and I left not much after that.
"Thanks guys." I said when we got in the car.
"Ofcourse", Jamal replied "we got you." Brahim added.
*End of flashback*
I can't believe I have another brother..

Humanity's End
Given a year to prepare by the mysterious ‘system’ for contact with the wider galaxy, humanity must work to ensure the Earth’s defense is ready to meet any challenge. Sadly, most of the world seems dedicated to tearing itself apart as the year-end deadline gets closer. The west is in barely contained Chaos, while the east descends into internal conflict and war. The Pillar Forts, one of the few successful projects of the United Nations headed by the United States, stand ready to defend humanity against any invasion that may come through the strange Connection Pillars that appeared on each continent. Massive steel and stone walls that surround the Connection Pillars. They are filled with deadly men and women trained in all manner of warfare, each trained in the newly acquired System with skills and magical abilities that they put to deadly purpose. Beside these brave warriors, tanks, helicopters, artillery and more stand ready to defend humanity at each of these powerful installations. But, can they overcome the disparity in levels and experience between themselves and the forces that threaten them and the rest of humanity? Main Characters Jessica Brown- A young African American girl. Her 18th birthday in Detroit was the same day the systems message appeared. She discovered she was Level 7, much higher than most of the rest of the world. Why she is blessed, or cursed, with the power she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that she rather likes the feeling that comes with manipulating magic. The week after her birthday, government workers started testing every person in the US in a massive census effort of skills and abilities. Jessica Brown found herself conscripted into the US Magical Corp, a new branch of the US Military, and shipped off to a Pillar Fort. Somewhere hot and muggy in her ancestors’ home of Africa. As she grows stronger, she finds she has some connection to the pillars. While everyone else sees beauty or danger when they look at the pillars, after connection is made all Jessica can see is a Tree. A tree the size of the entire universe. Isaka Smith - is a third generation American and farmer who just wants to be left alone. But she is dragged into the situation by events beyond her control. When people in her small town had to deal with rioters and looters after the system announcement, she rallied them to defend themselves, earning her a trait that the government found extraordinarily useful. After a visit to a local reservation, she finds herself conscripted to lead one of the many small support towns erected around the great pillar forts. Not near her old home, but in far-flung Africa. John McIntire, the “Fighting Bull” -The commander of the African Fort, but because of circumstances beyond his ability to contend with shortly after taking command after being re-activated from retirement, he finds communication with his chain of command increasingly difficult. The US government, hell, even the United Nations, seems to have fallen into complete and utter chaos. The African Union is embroiled in a bitter civil war just outside his door, and supposedly, most of the world governments are in similar situations. Meanwhile, John must do his best to be ready to facilitate diplomacy, or to match the hostile argument of whatever force might come through the pillar of light when the year timer finishes counting down. Can our heros defend Earth from outside threats, while it tares itself apart? Or will they need to rebuild from the ground up? DEDICATION: This story is dedicated to my father who passed away recently. Jim Holloway, you’ll be missed you old silverback gorilla. Love you dad. Always have, always will.
