"Brody, no.. I.." she sighed whilst I was still holding her hand.
"Don't act like there is nothing happening between us", I said still making eye contact with her.
She let my hand go and her eyes, God her eyes.. They were the most beautiful pair of eyes I had ever seen. I would never get bored by looking at them.
"I'm with Zakaria, I-I like him."
What is she seeing in that guy? He is the reason why I'm lying here with a concussion.
"Safia he-" I got cut off by my mom walking in with 2 police officers.
"Hello Brody, can we talk to you?" one of them asked.
"I have to go, but I'll text you later okay?" Safia said taking her bag from the seat next to me. To be honest, I wanted her to stay with me and just look and talk to her. Why did they interrupt my moment with her? A moment I didn't have with her for over a week.
I nodded and she left the room after saying goodbye to my mother.
"I'm officer Dunkin and this is officer Plantyn, can you tell us everything that happened this morning in detail please?" officer Dunkin asked.
I nodded and began telling my story.
I texted Amin if he could pick me up and take me home. He already was in the city for university so he was only 5 minutes away. I decided to wait in front of the hospital, it was pretty empty. I all of a sudden heard someone calling my name, but it wasn't Amin's voice.. It was Zakaria, what was he doing here?
"What are you doing here?!", he asked. He was angry, angrier than that day at the park. And again I was scared, scared he would do something.

"C'mon!" he said grabbing my wrist and pulling me to the side of the hospital. People could still see us, but we were at least not in the center of attention.
"Don't touch me Zakaria!" I yelled back pulling my hand away. He was holding my wrist firmly, till the point it hurt.
"Zakaria you're hurting me!" I said with a cracky voice which sounded like I was about to cry.
He let go of my wrist and noticed the fingermarks on my wrist. I looked at him while rubbing my wrist.
"You were here for HIM, weren't you?" saying 'him' like it was a disgusting word.
"How do you know?! Are you following me?!" I said raising my voice.
"Don't you dare raise your voice at me!" he said whilst raising his hand. That was it, he was going to slap me. I closed my eyes and waited for the impact, but nothing happened. I opened my eyes and saw Amin holding his hand up.
Amin pushed Zakaria away from me and held him up by his neck.
"Don't you dare touch my sister you piece of shit!!" Amin yelled still holding his neck.
Amin punched him and Zakaria fell on the ground. My brother could easily take him out even though Zakaria was bigger. My brother was still musculairly build.
"Let's go!!", my brother shouted at me holding my wrist and pulling me with him. What was it with people holding my wrist, let my wrist live Gosh.. He opened the passenger door of the car and I got in. As Amin was getting in, I looked at Zakaria who was still trying to get up. If Amin wasn't there, he would've probably...
"-Are you okay?", Amin interrupted my thoughts.

"He never touched you before did he? Otherwise he's a dead m-"
"No he didn't Amin, calm down", I said lowering my volume so he would do the same.
He looked at me and petted my head roughly. "Even though you're annoying, I won't tolerate someone touching you." he said focusing on the road.
I nodded and smiled, God was I glad I had a brother like him.
The rest of the ride was quiet, we arrived home and we both jumped out of the car and entered the house. Amin was still angry, he closed the door hard and threw his keys on the counter.
"I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT GUY NEAR HER AGAIN!" he shouted to mom who was making lunch.
"What?! Calm down Amin!", she shouted back.
"No! Because of you that piece of-", he sighed trying to calm down.
"Because of you that Zakaria guy almost slapped Safia!" Amin said heading to his room not waiting on a reaction from mom.
"What?! Habibti are you okay?!" mom walked towards me holding my face in her hands.
"Yeah I'm fine mom, don't listen to Amin. He's just mad, it's not your fault." I said trying to comfort my mother who was clearly worried.
"I'm sorry honey." she said hugging me tightly.
"It's fine mom, I-I can.. I can't breath." I said trying my best to stay alive.
"Oh sorry, c'mon I'll make you something and I'll talk to my friend later." she said starting to cook again.
"NO mom! Don't say anything please", I practically begged. I didn't want to ruin their friendship just because their children didn't get along.
She nodded and turned back to the stove.
"... And that's when a random woman woke me up", I finished my story.
"Did you know the 2 guys asking for your name?", officer Plantyn asked.
"No, I've never seen them before.. But...", I took my phone from the table and opened my messages.
"... A guy was threathening me bef-wtf?", I was looking for the text but I couldn't find it anywhere.
"What's wrong son", my mom asked.
"The text, it's gone.. Those guys must've deleted my conversation with Safia." What's wrong with them?! There goes all the evidence I had on them.
"What did the text say?", the officer asked.
"He threathened me, and and he said 'expect the unexpected'.. And a week later I got attacked, it-it isn't a coincidence", I tried to explain while the officer was writing everything down.
"Okay that's all, we will contact your mother if we need anything further."
They walked out of the room and my mom walked closer to me.
"It's going to be fine." She said as she saw I was worried.
"It was Zakaria mom! I know it!" I said. I was so sure that it was.
She kissed my forehead and that's when I recieved a text from Safia, which calmed me down and made me angrier at the same time.

The War Wolves
If you’re good at something, never do it for free. That’s what Ludgar’s uncle taught him. Sellswording isn’t the most glamorous life, but it pays well if you’re good at it. Interesting as well, if you ignore the very probable possibility of a swift, sticky end at the hands of pointy things. When the mercenary lifestyle grows incompatible with the Kingdom of Evandis, he and his merry band of misfits set off west to seek those with a better proclivity for warfare and with much deeper pockets. At his side: a wandering barbarian who teeters on the edge of savagery, a girl who would have a heart of gold if she didn’t pawn it off to the nearest fence, a wannabe knight who is absolutely overcompensating for something, and the last person in the universe who should be anywhere close to magic. But, as most mercenaries find, the right decisions are quite an expensive luxury, and the wrong ones happen to pay very well. Then again, what are the value of morals to a hungry wolf?
