《Danganronpa ocem》Chapter 4 Part 21

My mind was racing with thoughts. Sumana killed Randi's best friend... So why didn't she say anything to Randi before this chapter? Why did she still act so normal?
Yu Xuan: Randi... Are you okay?
Randi wiped a couple tears off of her face, but she seemed relatively undisturbed.
Randi: I saw this video...
Ashlyn: We all just did.
Randi: No, Monokuma showed it to me the night I became the traitor. You had no idea how I had to deal with that information alone, how many nights I couldn't sleep, while I still had to be positive around everyone so I wouldn't get found out.
Chloe: So what does this all amount to?
Randi: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to act out this way... I just wanted to avenge my best friend, but I didn't need to kill Sumana. She did it in her own self defence, and I should've just forgiven her. K is long gone, but Sumana wasn't, and she probably felt...
More tears fell from Randi's eyes, but she tried to conceal it.
Randi: She probably felt so guilty for doing it... What have I done? I'm just like the killers before me, and I thought I swore I would never be like them.
Randi: I thought we would all leave this place together...
Hanako: Don't worry Randi, we forgive you.
Randi: You do?
Yu Xuan: We do?
Hanako: I hope that after killing Sumana, you finally found the peace you were looking for.
Randi: I did, but that's what makes me so sick.
Hanako: Go find your best friend, Randi. I hope you both finally get to reunite. It will all be okay in the end.
Rachel: Yea, don't be too guilty.
Sophie: Sumana wanted to die anyway I don't see the fuss.
Ashton: Sophie!
Randi: Thanks guys, it means a lot knowing you guys don't fault me for what I did.
Chloe: Mmm, partially.
Ashton: Let's wrap things up, we don't want this trial to drag on forever.
Ashlyn: Okay then, for real this time, I'll show you what really happened.
- - - CLOSING ARGUMENT - - -
Ashlyn: This is the truth of the case!
Ashlyn: It all started after the night of the third trial, when Sumana, the victim, was brought back to us with her robotic arm. She had lost her real one before Hannan's execution while trying to stop her from being executed. Since Miyoshi had died, and Hannan and Annan had died before her, Sumana no longer had any of her original friends with her, and she probably didn't have much will to live anymore.

Ashlyn: After that, while we were all at the cafe and the culprit was making coffee for us, they revealed that they were not the first choice for the ultimate barista, and that it was their best friend. They told us that their best friend had given up the place for them, which we thought was sweet at first, but now we know the truth.
Ashlyn: The culprit's best friend, also known as K, was almost a victim of Hannan. She was close friends with Annan, but once Hannan heard that K had her own best friend, she chose not to murder her. However, Hannan already planned to kill on that day, and she tried to murder Sumana, locking her inside the cafe's kitchen freezer and almost leaving her there to die. But Sumana managed to escape after convincing Hannan to let her go as long as she didn't talk to Annan anymore, and as long as she she didn't expose the serial killer's secret. They even made a pinky promise.
Ashlyn: What they didn't notice was that K was listening the whole time, and when Sumana realised that K finding out Hannan was a serial killer meant that she had to die, she attacked K, mauling her until her body was barely recognisable, and finally killing her with a stomp to the skull.
Ashlyn: We don't know what happened to Sumana after the murder, but we do know that Hannan had left her to fend for herself. But judging by Sumana in the earlier parts of the killing game, she seemed unharmed and her mental health was fine. She also didn't mention a criminal record, which meant that the police didn't find out who really killed K. After the murder, Sumana probably cleaned up all the evidence leading to her and just left the scene.
Ashlyn: Coming back to the killing game, the culprit was shown the video we just saw, where K was killed, and Monokuma convinced them to become the traitor. They wanted to kill Sumana in order to avenge their best friend, so they set up a plan.
Ashlyn: That night, we had gotten a motive where we were able to travel to a dream world. Only three people were allowed in it at a time, and each of us had words on our wristbands, which we could go to the dream world with once we pressed the screen and said the word. People were only considered dead if they were killed in the dream world, so the culprit had to be creative.

Ashlyn: After we had coffee at the cafe, we went to the arcade, where Sumana accidentally hit Hanako with a puck while playing air hockey. Sophie accused her of being the traitor, and Sumana strangled her with the robotic arm. She couldn't control it, so we tied her up in her room to make sure she couldn't do more harm.
Ashlyn: The culprit probably entered Sumana's room in order to convince her to help them in their plan. Since Sumana had left behind a suicide note, the culprit probably convinced her to kill herself so that there would be no execution.
Ashlyn: At some point, I went to check on Sumana and noticed that I heard a voice in her room, but I brushed it off. Later, when I went to the dream world, I heard the culprit and Sumana in a room, where Sumana was being convinced to hang herself. I managed to get inside the room, but the culprit was hiding, and before I could stop Sumana, I was transported back to the real world.
Ashlyn: I ran to Sumana's room to check if she was still alive, and she was, but as I was leaving, I noticed the door locked behind me. It couldn't have been Sumana, since she was asleep, and now we know that it was actually the culprit.
Ashlyn: After that, Hanako decided to go to the dream world to check on Sumana and maybe find the culprit, however, she was tied up by the culprit, and chloroformed. Sumana was still planning on killing herself at this point in time.
Ashlyn: In the real world, we were panicking at the food court since Hanako still had not left the dream world, and the culprit, who was disguised in the crowd now, began to have a breakdown, causing them to be kicked by Sophie. Ashton and I brought the culprit to the clinic, where we saw Sumana. She claimed that she had killed Hanako, which we believed. But in reality, Sumana and the culprit had discreetly said each other's words and the both of them were transported to the dream world together. In order to make sure Sumana couldn't escape the dream world, the culprit also stole a revolver from Sophie's room and shot Sumana's sleeping body in the real world, transferring her only consciousness to the dream world.
Ashlyn: Things didn't go entirely according to the culprit's plan though, because halfway through, Sumana must've been having second thoughts about killing herself, and decided against it. This made the culprit decide to kill her themselves. They broke Sumana's robotic arm, rendering her weaker, and then dragged her over to the noose with a rope, which caused her good arm to have slits on it. Sumana's leg broke in the process, which made her even more helpless.
Ashlyn: After making sure her neck was in the noose and she wasn't able to escape, the culprit kicked away the stool from under Sumana, which hung her and killed her. Sumana was then officially dead. In order to take the suspicion off of them, the culprit put the revolver in Hanako's room to frame her, then went back to the dream world.
Ashlyn: She originally wanted to kill Hanako, but decided against it. The culprit then tied herself up and hurt herself, which made it seem like she was attacked. They probably wanted to make it look like Sumana was the one who attacked them, then killed herself. Finally, the culprit chloroformed themselves, which is why the bottle has less in it, and waited for us to find Sumana's body so they could act innocent.
Ashlyn: We know what happened now, and we've figured out the entire story. Am I correct, Randi, the ultimate Barista!?
- - - COMPLETE - - -
Randi: Yes, it is. The whole entire thing.
Monokuma: Maybe the murder plot was, but wait until you hear about this little flaw in your motive! Puhuhuhuhu!
