《Danganronpa ocem》Chapter 2 Part 9

Miyoshi: Hey, you ready?
Ashlyn: Let's find out the murderer and bring Annan justice.
Hannan: We'll avenge her.
Chloe: We'll figure out the murder plan for sure! We have the ultimate detective.
Ashton: E- eh??
Rachel: Then let's go.
The ground shook, the stage fell, and like last time the elevator ascended. This time, we thought knew what the class trial would bring us, we were experienced. It would be just like last time, debate, find the killer, then the execution. It would be easy, we told ourselves.
Boy were we wrong.
The elevator doors opened and we stepped inside. My hands were shaking again. Someone won't make it out alive.
The doors closed with a loud clunk, and we remained silent as the elevator began to descend. I felt my insides churn as the sounds of metal scraping rock blasted the four walls. I closed my eyes and mentally prepared myself.
And then after what seemed like an eternity, the elevator stopped and the doors opened. The same trial room sat before us, welcoming us like an old friend. I clenched my teeth.
Annan, the ultimate gymnast, the one kind hearted and loyal, the one who wanted only the best for her friends. She was mercilessly slaughtered by one of us, someone she thought was a friend to her, but was really plotting her death behind everyone's backs. We'll track them down and avenge our friend, for our survival and for Hannan, the one closest to her. We will win this class trial!
At the same stands as before, we looked around at each other, trying to scope out any suspicious behavior.
Monokuma: Now then, let's begin with a simple explanation of the Class Trial! During the Class Trial, you will present your arguments for who the killer is, and vote for whodunnit! If you vote correctly, only the Blackened will receive punishment! But if you pick the wrong person... I'll punish everyone besides the Blackened, and that person will earn the right to leave this mall!
Miyoshi: Alright then, let's begin.
Hannan: We already know that it's Hanako! She was at the scene when no one else was!

Miyoshi: That was in the morning, we know Annan was killed at night.
Hannan: It still could be her, she was the most suspicious. She was the one who attacked me!
Hanako: I- I didn't!
Sophie: That's enough! We don't know if Hanako really attacked Hannan. We just assumed it because she was the first one there. We need to get to the bottom of this case, and we're not going to do that when you keep blaming Hanako for something she might've not done. So shut up and actually do something if you want to avenge your friend.
Hannan: I literally just said Hanako was suspicious sheesh...
Yu Xuan: Let's continue with the trial. Ashton, what do we talk about?
Ashton: Let's talk about the murder weapon.
Hannan: Monokuma file 2 says she was hit on the head, but by what? And how?
Ashlyn: How she was killed huh...
This is easy. She was killed by getting hit on the head with...
1. The vent cover
2. The portable fan
3. Metal pieces
4. Bloody weight
Ashlyn: That's it! - - - GOT IT - - -
Ashlyn: The murder weapon was the weight, it had blood on it.
Hannan: Seems likely. But how did she get hit?
Non-stop debate!
Truth bullets:
Portable fan
Missing sewing machine
Vent cover
Annan's room key
Chloe: The one who attacked Hannan snuck up behind her and hit her on the head, maybe this time is the same!
Sumana: To hold such a heavy weight, you'd have to be to hold it up and hit someone with force.
Rachel: Hannan was hit on the head with a , much lighter than the one Annan was hit with.
Hannan: So how was Annan hit on the head?
Rachel: Maybe the weight fell on her head! - - - vent cover - - -
Ashlyn: I agree with that! - - - CONSENT - - -
Ashlyn: The weight was dropped down the vent, that's why the vent cover was on her head! It's so heavy that it knocked the vent cover down with it.
Hannan: That's... Smart.

Chloe: So we know the killer dropped the weight into the vent... Let's talk about other things now.
Yu Xuan: I have an ongoing question.
Ashlyn: What is it?
Yu Xuan: What was the portable fan for?
Ashton: I think we have an overall idea on what it was for. You know last time when Crysty was murdered? Her body gave off no smell, but why did Annan's body?
Chloe: That's suspicious as well...
Hannan: So? What was it used for???
It was probably used to...
1. Keep the body cool
2. Spread the smell of the body
3. Poison Annan
4. Make the body smell better
Ashlyn: That's it! - - - GOT IT - - -
Ashlyn: The fan was used to blow the smell of the body up the vent so we would be able to smell it.
Yu Xuan: Why would you want to do that?? Don't you want to keep the body a secret?
Chloe: The killer probably wanted us to find the body.
Hannan: That's right...
Sumana: The motive! The killer didn't want their family to die, so of course they wanted the body to be found!
Chloe: So why did they put the poster over the vent when it would just block the smell? Couldn't they have just used the vent cover to hold the string?
Sumana: First we need to make sense of why there's a string. And I'm sure it has something to do with why Annan's body was found in the Mastermind room in the first place.
Non-stop debate!
Truth bullets:
String hanging from vent
Annan's room key
String taped to poster
Missing sewing machine
Randi: Why Annan's body was found there?
Chloe: That's right, we don't actually know why Annan was standing
Rachel: Why was ? Didn't she lose it? Why was it with her when she died?
Hannan: That is pretty weird. Maybe she found it before she died?
Miyoshi: That still doesn't explain why she's in the Mastermind room...
Ashton: I'm pretty sure it has ...
Sumana: Maybe the string has something important on it, and the only way for Annan to get it was to stand under the vent. - - - Annan's room key - - -
Ashlyn: I agree with that! - - - CONSENT - - -
Ashlyn: Maybe Annan's room key was tied to the string, and Annan had to stand under the vent in order for her to take the keys. And when Annan stood under the vent, the killer dropped the weight onto her head!
Chloe: Couldn't the killer have just put the keys on the floor? Why go through the trouble of using a string to lower it through the vent and then taping it to the poster?
Ashlyn: I think this also has to do with why the killer used the poster in the first place. The killer needed a way to know when Annan was under the vent, while they were standing in Annan's bedroom...
Randi: Maybe they peaked down the vent...
Chloe: No... They vent had a bend in it, it would be impossible...
Ashton: Let's go over the use of the poster then. The string was taped to the inside of the poster, facing the vent, and Annan's room key was tied to the end of the string, which was in the Mastermind room.
Miyoshi: Annan walked into the Mastermind room to check if her keys were there, and found the key. She walked up to the string and untied the key.
Yu Xuan: So when Annan was pulling the key down, what was happening to the poster?
I know what happened to the poster, it...
1. Bent outwards
2. Bent inwards
3. Fell off the wall
4. Dropped the weight
Ashlyn: That's it! - - - GOT IT - - -
Ashlyn: When the string was pulled by Annan, the poster, being flexible paper, bent inwards!
Alyssa: Bent inwards?
Miyoshi: From the killers point of view, the poster would become slightly concave...
Chloe: This would alert the killer that Annan was now directly under the vent, and they could drop the weight!
Rachel: So now we know the use of the poster, but now I want to know something else.
Hanako: Hm?
Rachel: The use of the poison.

The Dao of Magic
Here I am, sitting on a mountain so far away from civilisation it might as well be the godforsaken arse of the world, about to ascend. Can't wait to leave this crapfest of a planet... Turns out that the higher ups decided that an unaffiliated rogue like me is too big of a risk to let run around free. Seems like this entire cultivation world is a late stage capitalist money making machine for the powers that be in the higher realms, and me stealing the good loot in front of their descendants and sect disciples noses finally pissed them off enough to take action. First, they sent all the sect masters and hidden dao protectors to off me - which failed, obviously. Heh, afterwards they simply bitch slapped me out of their universe though. That is interesting and all, but I just woke up in a valley watching some critters murder each other while trying not to freak out about how bad it smells here.Soo… where the fuck am I? Why is that deer fighting a feathery squirrel? Why am I teaching this baby rabbit saved from a cannibalistic mother how to kick beings in the face with the power of qi?Releases a couple of times a week! The Novel's Extra's Extra
As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... Why could someone be born like that? With a void inside, an endless void that slowly consumes oneself... But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same faith of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra... /Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear: 1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good. Thanks to you all who may, or may not, be reading this novel./
